Review titled Modality fails patients
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mark G - Posted on 21 February 2024
Ever since Modality changed the working practice at my gp practice, I can honestly say that I feel failed as a patient. The form that we are asked to fill in for our surgery (before we are triaged) is bonkers. A lot of the time it doesn't even cover the part of the body affected e.g. the gp surgery asked me to book an appointment through the form to discuss blood tests results, and there was no obvious way to do it. So what do you do? Secondly the form is only available from 8am-12pm & 2-4pm - So during everyone else's working hours. Then today, when I went to complete the form at just before 3pm...unavailable again until tomorrow morning. Why? Who knows? I spoke with the operations manager yesterday. She failed to answer my concerns about the stupidity of the form (I have been in my gp surgery and heard 2 other people complaining about the form as well). On top of that, I was not impressed with how I was dealt with. It's hard enough to get a GP appointment. Modality are making it even harder. It's no wonder that patients just turn up at a&e. Ps. This review has been submitted but not gone through because it says I've included workds that are all in capital letters...what like gp and a&e. More bonkersness!

i was referred for a lower abdomen ultrasound. after waiting for six months, i finally got my chance to get the scan done. when I reached the centre (nishkam pharmacy on soho road, twenty-fourth february at ten), i was told there will be an ultrasound scan as well as an intravaginal scan. i asked for some time to think about it. the lady who was doing my scan kept saying 'you don't have to do it, you don't have to do it'. when she started doing my ultrasound in the mean time, she said my bladder should have been more full. i said I can wait for a few minutes while she attends to other patients but she said she will not do that. she also said I should not have had coffee before coming for my scan. there was no mention of that in the text message i was sent before the scan. i begged her to give me some time as i was worried about my health and waited 6 months for my scan. cruelly, she turned me away. when i asked her to do my intra vaginal scan atleast, she said she had closed the screen and could not go back to it. what kind of service is this? aren't you supposed to be a little empathetic towards the patients? when i contacted Nishkam later, they asked me to write to you guys. i am a tax paying citizen of this country and i expected better. her behaviour was so crushing for my pride that i am forced to write this. i request you to investigate this and let me know if i have to wait another six months for my scan.

Review titled Useless. Cannot get appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

82 attempts to get through on the telephone between 8-8.20am. Visited practice to make appointment, was told I was unable to do this and needed to call. Explained how many times I had called, receptionist shrugged shoulders, asked for an emergency appointment as in agony, told no. Can i make appointment for tomorrow, again told no! I asked how I get an appointment, told to call. Again stated I had called 82 times, receptionist told me how do i expect her to answer the phone and do her computer work!

Turned up for my first diabetic review at my local Haworth practice having been transferred back to GP care by the specialist nurse from Airedale Hospital, only to be told after 10 minutes that I should be in Skipton!

2years ago missed diagnosed for diabetes. 8 weeks ago confirmed diagnoses but still waiting for an appointment. Complained twice requested appointment 3 times cannot get any response. Not 1st time this has happened at present waiting on diabetes and angina appointments, not trivial ailments.

Review titled Not a true NHS appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2024
Have been waiting and suffering since October 2022 for an appointment with ENT NHS consultant and today have been offered an appointment in the community with this company not a NHS ENT consultant with expertise. Is this the governments idea of reducing waiting lists with inferior consultations? Not only would this be wasting my time but I’m not sure I would be getting expert care either.

Review titled Talk Diabetes event 18th November 2023
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by MR FRANCIS J GOODWIN - Posted on 20 November 2023
Following an invitation to attend the above event, I was very keen to attend so I duly registered my interest. Imagine my disgust when having travelled 4 miles to the venue, I found a group of other interested people standing outside the building which was clearly not going to open that day. On searching the internet I discovered that the event had been "postponed" (it was displayed in small letters at the bottom of the screen). There was no notice on the door/gate of the building and I received no notification by text/email to that effect either. Furthermore, no apology or reason of any description has been forthcoming. It was a total waste of my valuable time which could have been utilised usefully doing other things This just demonstrates the contempt in which patients are held.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Went today for an appointment checking in. Was sat for half an hour and enquired to reception to be told the clinician was not logged on the system but would find out. Had to wait another 10 minutes to be told was not in today and should have been called which I had not. I am annoyed that I had taken a day off work and traveled for nothing. The staff were not very helpful!!

Review titled The worst place to be ill
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had been trying for over a year to obtain an appointment with a Dr. I consistenetly failed. Four weeks ago I got admitted into hospital in Spain. I now have to live with a condition for life that could have been diganosed if I had managed to see a Dr. If you live in this area and feel unwell get a flight to Spain. They are way ahead of us.
