  1. Review titled Mistakes, no appointments not committed to care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by maryjaneflanagan - Posted on 14 October 2024

Since falling downstairs 10 days ago and having interacted on 7 occasions with the surgery they have failed me every time. I am yet to secure an appointment with a doctor which will be next Wednesday 13 days after the accident. I have seen a registrar who made several mistakes and when requested a medication said no but if the symptoms start “just pop in” Unsurprisingly the symptoms did get worse I called the surgery as was unable to walk and barely able to talk as I was getting excruciating muscle spasms every two minutes. I explained, after the receptionist spoke to the on duty doctor was told to make an appointment online, The doctor did not even come to the phone. The earliest appointment was one week later. When I telephoned to try and bring it forward I was told it was with a Physio and they only work Wednesdays, I did not ask for a physio I asked for a doctor, the online form had allocated a physio Without telling me. Whilst on the phone I was told to go to a & e. I was also told there is only one doctor on site usually the rest are trainees or nurse practitioners. I was given an earlier appointment but only 2 hours earlier, not the two days I requested. The practice now owned by Modality whose credo is committed to care are not. Having been a patient here for nearly 30 years I have been severely let down. This is a transactional practice meaning as long as you want repeat prescriptions or flu jab you will probably be OK ( though they have mucked up my repeat prescription as well) If it is more serious then their processes are not equipped to help you. I am now seeking another practice.

  2. Review titled Awful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jason - Posted on 16 September 2024

Everything is fantastic. (Not really) Its not the surgery but the Modality Health Care Group which is awful. Booking is nearly impossible as you cannot just book at the desk and the phone wait times are horrendous. Booking by the website is incredibly unintuitive, I'm pretty tech savvy and I gave up. Disgusting that my taxes pay for the NHS to partner with this disgraceful entity. Disgusting.

Fairfield practice Keighley nobody answering the phone every thing online then asked to take a picture of injury with a tape measure next to wound for the doctor to send me a message saying go to the chemist What an absolute shambles companies like this are making a mockery out of the nhs whilst making millions if this is the future of the nhs God help the next generation

  4. Review titled Inaccurate information, unwilligness of staff to resolve

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was fitted 16th with request to return asap so results could downloaded. Told open to 6. Written material also says 6. Arrived 5.25 as requested to be told by only receptionist in that she couldn’t help as was a different departmentand she could not take responsibility for it. Rang helpline , no help. No solution but to further 90 minutes off work to return provided are open whenever that is. I can’t easily do this as I work and it is a 45 minute drive each way. Wholheartedky disappointed that non solution focussed was the approach and no empathy for impact on stress (which is the issue). If you’re going to leave early on Friday at least tell people. And in any other organisation the, “it’s not my job attitude” does not wash. How does the nhs get a way with that Oh and they have also set up complaints contact form so will not submit as gets stuck on, are you a robot, genius way to get no complsints

  5. Review titled Triage system difficult for workers

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Concerned patient - Posted on 24 April 2024

I have been with my GP practice since the 1990s so I've seen it change from a lovely family practice where we knew the GPs and they knew and cared about us. There was a very low point where the practice seemed to be staffed by locum doctors, but recently there has been greater consistency and I have been happy with the support I've received. Last year I was fortunate to be invited in for face to face consultations, which I really appreciated. The problem is the new triage form, which I used for the first time last week. I had taken a day off work without pay expecting that if, as usual, I phoned at 8am I would be offered a phone consultation that day. When I called I was directed to the online triage form, and I was disappointed to see that the form states that a doctor will review the form 'within two working days'. I have since been texted with a day when a GP will phone me, and told to keep my phone on all day. Problem - I work in a job where I'm not allowed to use my phone, except for half an hour at lunchtime. My employer makes it clear that since we work from 8am to 3.30pm, that leaves enough time after work to make medical appointments in our own time, we shouldn't take time off except in emergencies. I could take another day off without pay but if I did, it would reflect poorly on my reliability at work. So, as I've said in feedback to my GP practice, how can working people access GP support using the triage system?

  6. Review titled Impossible to get appointments or advice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Chris Dalby - Posted on 23 April 2024

The online function - advertised as available from 9.00am to 1.00pm was accepting no further input from 9.04am due to “exceptional demand”. The exceptional demand seems to be a daily occurence. For the second time, the first being when my wife was unable to get an appointment for 2 weeks when she needed antibiotics, I went private to get a same day appointment elsewhere - is a NI refund available for a complete absence of service?

  7. Review titled Shocking service

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Mark L - Posted on 07 March 2024

For the last few months I’ve had to use this service & it’s truly shocking. What a painful experience it is to try book an appointment, get meds, query treatment. If you’ve something that doesn’t fit the options good luck trying to get that resolved. I’ve been waiting nearly 2 weeks to get a GP to complete 1 section of a form that will through my works insurance get me free treatment. One of the reasons I’ve had to go down this route is because of the waiting lists on the NHS. What a joke!

  8. Review titled Rubbish practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

We belong to the South Lewisham Group Practice now under Modality. My mother is elderly, it's proved very hard to get an appointment for medication review, test results. Recently after her medication ran out and going into a bank holiday, it's for blood pressure, reception staff criteria:- fob everyone off, lie, give information that they are not qualified for. Doctors that are unreachable unless they are calling you. Modality services seemed to have appeared on the scene to destabilise GP care within the NHS.

  9. Review titled Cannot get an Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jack - Posted on 14 March 2024

Following an MRI scan on 9 February 24 I am still finding it impossible on 14 March 24 to get an appointment to discuss the results. There seems to be some kind of allocation system and every time I eventually get through on the telephone I am told to try again the next day or the next week. Something is very wrong at Modality, Ship Street East Grinstead, and it needs investigation. This abysmal state of affairs was not the case before Modality took over the practice.

  10. Review titled Contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Florence Nicholl - Posted on 14 May 2024

Still awaiting a call from the doctor since 4th March 2024 with test results. I thought high cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes were currently a government priority. Was called this morning while still asleep. Phone number was not our surgery but claimed it was. I have been unable to get in touch, as usual. Can't wait to move to a town without Modality.
