Review titled Incompetent to an incredible degree!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kathleen Parris - Posted on 15 September 2023
Visited physio at my practice (Jenner) after a month long wait. The appointment consisted of no examination and was a repeat of the same questions I had answered in a phone call with the physio in March after I sustained my injury. He referred me to a physio clinic - appointment not till November. He also did a referral for an ultrasound at my local hospital and gave me, wrongy, a referral form. Only when I tried booking an appointment with the radiology department was I told that I could not do this, the form had to be sent to them electronically by the referrer! Following day tried to contact my practice and, after a two hour wait, someone called me back. Obviously just someone in a call centre who had no idea what I was calling about and I had to repeat everything and listen while she typed it all! In the afternoon received a call and was told that I had an appointment in November which I already knew and was not for an ultrasound. She had to ask a doctor if she could email the form to radiology after I explained that I could not do it and it said quite clearly on the form 'email to department'. She finally said she could do it after about 15 minutes on the phone. Further evidence of their incompetence is the fact that I have been contacted four times about the Covid and flu vaccinations, one of the reminders was ever sent after I had already booked an appointment! I have no confidence in Modality and it certainly does not benefit patients. I can only presume someone is getting paid a lot of money for this useless service.

Review titled Appointment system needs looking at
Rated 1 star out of 5

Called to make an appointment, on hold for 1hour + with no idea of where I was in the queue or even given the option of a callback. Still on hold at 1 hour 20, finally told I’m caller 29!! Decided to go in person to get an appointment to be told there was wasn’t any and to ring at 8am, if your on hold for this amount of time, I’m sure all appointments will have gone! Also advised no available for pre-booking the following week and to either call at 8 or come on and wait to see if I could get an appointment. I have a job and children so this is not an option. It needs looking at and sorting out big time

Review titled Cannot get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

Myself and my husband, as well as the rest of my family have tried multiple times to get appointments and every time we are told that all the appointments have gone and we need to try again next Wednesday morning to try again- every week. Cannot even get an urgent appointment for anything. My husband is waiting to have a cancer screening as both his parents have it and cannot get an appointment still.

Review titled Great Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have just had an appointment with Modality Rheumatology at Crompton Road Handsworth Wood. I am overwhelmed with how well the Consultant dealt with me. She was so kind and understanding very to the point. This sort of service suits my personality she has given me such confidence in the Modality Partnership which was starting to slip with GP practice troubles which do seem to be nationwide. I wish this app would allow me to mention the doctor by name but she knows who she is and I can’t thank her enough.

Review titled Frustrating service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I'd never heard of Modality until my GP said I needed to have an ultrasound scan. Then, weeks later I received 3 letters from Modality, saying I could not be contacted and I needed to phone to contact Modality. Well, I phoned and waited while I got the 'number in queue' countdown. Then after some time and countdown nearing 1, I was told my call could not be taken at the moment. I did days later receive a voice message saying I would receive details of an appointment, but I didn't receive any information. I phone again and actually got through to be told I had an appointment in 2 days time. Good job I called I think I mentioned the previous phone call attempt and was told that they had been having problems with the phone system I attended this appointment, the details were sent to my GP who then decided I needed another scan. Obviously this was important. After 2 weeks I received another letter saying I couldn't be contacted and could I phone in again. I did this and got to number 1 in the queue and was told my call couldn't be taken again. I then emailed Modality and got a reply asking for my contact details. I supplied these and got a call back immediately. Again I was told about the problem with Modality's phone system. No help to me though. It then took more phone calls and emails before I got another scan appointment. I have now no faith in Modalitys service and professionalism. If I had a choice I would rather not use Modality, but I suspect that there is no alternative. Perhaps that is why they offer such poor service.

Review titled Suggestion that you are guilty of discrimination
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was informed that I could no longer telephone for an appointment but had to complete an on-line description of my ill health. Having tried that during lock-down I will not do so again. I do not want to be dictated to on how and when I can contact my medical practice. The website is not particularly easy to manipulate. In the "bad old days", there was no problem speaking to someone, explaining one's requirement and receiving help and treatment. If everything is being done 'on line' then why am I 'over 30 in the queue' for the telephone? Hasn`t someone realised that the system is not working!

Review titled Impossible to contact
Rated 1 star out of 5

I am unable to book an appointment online as website gives only a two week window, which is fully booked. The phone number provided to supposedly schedule appointments announced that it could not, in fact, schedule appointments, but I could hold for "administration". It then disconnected. Problem is not with the actual practice, but with Modality's systems, which seem entirely unresponsive and unusable

Review titled Appalling system

I completed the online form for Fisher Medical Centre Skipton , I shortly afterwards received a voicemail from a member of the reception team asking me to ring her , after being in the queue for 1 hour 10 mins I got connected through to a lovely person at Cross Hills Surgery to which I was very shocked , I explained I had a voicemail from person at Fisher medical and she explained thats a near impossible task to be able to talk to a particular person at a particular surgery because of the branch system , we had to guess at what it was about , Modality needs to realise their system doesn't work now they've messed it up , it's never one size fits all

Needed an exemption certificate signing by a GP and sending off. I printed off 1st certificate took it to surgery has not been posted. 2certificates later, 6 hours on the telephone, 3 online requests and 2 visits to the GP it has been lost yet again Modality are incompetent and need to go. No wonder ED is bursting at the seams.

Prescription due in April was delivered 2 weeks late in spite of repeated calls to doctors and pharmacy. Each blaming the other and no action from other ones
