Review titled 5 star 🌟
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen - Posted on 08 April 2024
I have been under connect health since December-April for ligament tears. Slowly but surely, they have helped to not only build up my strength and stability in my ankle, bringing me back from being non weight baring and uses crutches to walking and building up to my usual life activities and returning to work. Its been a long and painful at times journey with clinic and gym sessions and have found everyone to be calm, friendly and professional, they are always understanding, compassionate in my frustration and pain at my worst. Finding a way to laugh rather than cry at times. Advising on better strap support and my exercises, listening to what my body needed to get to this stage. I am so grateful.

Review titled Wolverhampton MSK Physio: the best!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Peony - Posted on 28 March 2024
I have had continuity of care and a totally professional approach from someone who listens and responds, suggesting things I can do at home, as well as techniques to help with long term pain which are carried out through the sessions. The difference it has made is amazing. Thank you Mr Reece

Review titled OK but could be better
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2024
Following an assessment by a Connect Health physio for a back issue it was recommended that I undertake 6 gym sessions to condition and strengthen my back. This part of the process went OK with the first session carried out one to one as planned to agree which exercises to do and more importantly how. After that the remaining 5 were independent but with the physios on site if you had any questions. This also worked OK but the physios were busy most of the time showing new people on the same programme. This meant that you tended to carry on under your own accord with the danger of overdoing things as you were encouraged to build up the number and weights for each exercise. So the main feedback here is having sufficient physios to allow more one to one time throughout the 6 sessions rather than just the first one to ensure you're on the right track. The main issue for me was the assessment by the physios at the gym at the of the 6 sessions. Again they were always busy meaning the assessment lasted less than 5 minutes which mainly consisted of them outlining what paid packages the gym offered if I wanted to carry on with the sessions. There was no proper assessment of how I'd progressed over the 6 sessions and whether it had helped. To achieve this I had to return to the original physio which didn't seem like a sensible use of their time. So, as per my first point, there should be more capacity for the on site physios to carry out a proper formal assessment at the end to better support people like me who need reassurance that the process is working and help in making the best 'next step' choices to not undo the potential benefits already gained. This would also protect the capacity of the non gym based physios to better deliver their work.

Review titled Why don’t physio actually manipulate?
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Lyndsay - Posted on 27 March 2024
I paid to see my NHS physio in lockdown as they weren’t allowed to work, I was manipulated and this really helped. But seeing the same person now and they don’t actually touch you but just advise. This doesn’t help and I don’t understand why they can’t manipulate as I would only need a couple of visits. I need help every now and again , struggled with sciatica for over 30year. Great physio but I wish they did more than speak

Dear Lyndsay Thank you for your posting. I am sure that you can appreciate that there are different ways to treat different injuries when they present and high velocity manipulation, the type you describe, is not something that we undertake. I would be more than happy to review the care you have received if you think that would help. If you would like me to do that, please email me on lesleycrosby@connecthealth.co.uk Kind regards Lesley Crosby Director of Governance and Quality

Review titled Outstanding practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Robert Hellen - Posted on 27 March 2024
I was referred to Connect Health for a suspected Hip issue. The Physio was very professional and thorough explaining clearly the source of my concern after an intensive investigation. Plans for moving forward were agreed along with a range of suitable exercises. The Physio was understanding and supportive and provided excellent care and reassurance. I could not have asked for more or better. Looking forward to my next appointment.

Review titled Utterly useless service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2024
Over a period of a number of years I have suffered hip pain, which I was told was arthritis then not arthritis. Constantly have to chase up regarding physio appointments. Appointments cancelled at short notice Recently, in March received a letter saying was going to refer me for a course of physio and shockwave treatment to run concurrently. 2 Months later, I have heard nothing. I phone them and they say I need a physio appointment first. Not concurrent treatment. Apparently the clinician should have told me to contact them to arrange this. Meanwhile I am suffering increasing, intolerable pain. The person I spoke to was very unsympathetic, and unhelpful. I will seek treatment with a more reliable, caring and understanding service

Review titled Excellent support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2024
I have been given support over the past 6 months for a meniscus tear (knee injury). The physio team were extremely helpful throughout the process, I was always able to pick up the phone for support, as well as having 1 to 1 reviews in person and weekly group sessions where I could strengthen my knee. The PhysiApp makes it easy to exercise at home but the physio team are very helpful and knowledgeable, they are motivating and open to any questions.

Review titled Outdated term used
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2024
Please inform all of your staff that the term, "wheelchair bound" is outdated. Not even full-time wheelchair users are "bound" to their wheelchair, they will get out of it at some point in the day. The preferred term is "wheelchair user". This was not said to me in my face-to-face appoint but was used in my report. Please do not use this outdated term any longer. Thank you.
