Review titled poor
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by gareth - Posted on 09 December 2023
went to a&e as my gp surgery gad said, based on my issue, that was where to go if it continues! was told to speak to triage, and after standing there like a plum, for nigh on 15 minutes while the person on sat behind window marked triage, who looked at me at least 3 times, between laughing and carrying on with the other staff in the reception. and had not asked me to come forward (there are signs saying wait until called forward)! i walked out of the department! not amused to be left standing, and ignored by triage staff. extremely poor service and experience!

Review titled Fantastic treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah wood - Posted on 28 August 2023
I was taken ill while staying a hotel . In Newcastle for a wedding the following day . I’d travelled from Brighton . Away from home taken ill . I was seen really quickly midnight on a Saturday night . The nurse who admitted me very friendly, I can’t remember names she was from Australia. I felt shaky and was feeling unwell . Not always the best time to go to A/E !! I was treated with calm efficient care. I work in the NHS and when it happens to you you feel vulnerable . It was busy. The staff made me feel safe , kept informed . What a fantastic team . I was moved to an observation ward at 4 am and I had the same positive experience. Such a fantastic experience at your hospital . Friendly knowledgable . I was seen by a consultant in the morning. You gave me copies of my discharge , and rushed my medication so I could get to my wedding. I felt very cared for thank you fantastic team .

Review titled Urogynaecology clinic
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Attended for a face to face review appointment (I’d called the appointment line the week before to confirm it was a face to face appointment) I’d arrived early but didn’t expect to be seen before my planned appointment time, but still had not seen 45 minutes after my appointment time, so I checked to see if there was a delay in the clinic. Unfortunately the consultant thought I was a phone review and wasn’t aware I was sitting in the waiting room, despite being checked in on my arrival. Thankfully, I was seen immediately once she knew I was there; the consultant was very sympathetic and I felt I was listened to regarding the problem I had attended for. All staff were really pleasant.

Review titled Superb
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Graham - Posted on 03 September 2023
All the staff were extremely professional and could not have done more. I needed spinal surgery and the treatment from start to finish was superb. Staff at every level were amazing. Nothing was a problem to them, they were always approachable and they rallied around me to make my stay as comfortable as they could. I really couldn’t see any area that would need improvement. Everything was immaculate. The food was very good too. My surgery was successful and already i have made good progress towards recovery.

Review titled Very sad at treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5

My partner’s wallet was mislaid/stolen within a few hour of his return from surgery. There has been no apparent search or even concern about this. This is a secure ward and he was in a side ward on his own. After three days of queries and requests no assistance was provided on how to operate his bedside TV, and he was told it had to be paid for?!! The back of said TV clearly states it is a free tv and phone service!!! From speaking to certain staff on occasions it is quite obvious that nobody really cares. I am disgusted at the way obviously vulnerable people are being treated.

I was on Ward 45 yesterday for hernia surgery. All the team were fantastic, the nurses, the cleaning staff, the surgical team and consultant were brilliant. I just want to say a massive thank you, you all were friendly and could not do enough for me. I wish I could name each and everyone but for everyone I had contact with thank you for putting me at ease, your friendliness, your professionalism and the laughter. The surgical team were amazing and the team in recovery were fantastic too. Thank you all you are all worth your weight in gold.

Review titled Amazing work !
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jenna Ross - Posted on 04 June 2023
I attended A&E last night after a Thai boxing event and needed stitches under my eye. The Dental CT/head and neck specialist who saw me was amazing ! I was very nervous as it was my first time ever having to get anything like this done and I don’t do well with injections. I can’t thank you enough for the amazing job you have done and for putting me at ease throughout the whole procedure.

Review titled Friendly and professional
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rose - Posted on 27 June 2023
Attended minor injuries on Monday morning after what I thought was a sprain to my ankle. Quickly seen by excellent nursing staff, sadly xray showed a fractured tibia. Everyone I met from nurses to radiographers, plaster technician and porters were courteous, friendly and professional. They deserve every penny of the pay rise they want.

Review titled Amazing Care on Ward 40
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Bailey - Posted on 21 July 2023
I was recently in ward 40 for surgery. I was incredibly nervous and struggle with a few mental health issues that make being in stressful situations incredibly difficult for me. On top of this I am a transgender man, so being on a ward for gynaecology was very daunting for me. The nurses were absolutely amazing and were incredibly respectful to my individual situation. I would like to specifically mention the sister on the ward. She made me feel listened to, safe and comfortable, for that I can not thank her enough. Overall she made my surgery/hospital experience as easy as she could, she was very caring and gentle with me and a credit to the hospital. I can not thank all the nurses on the ward that day enough for how well I was looked after while in their care.
