Review titled Caring and attentive
by Mac1963 - Posted on 12 January 2023
Admitted 3 days ago via ambulatory care quite poorly. Excellent , quick and very caring service. Doctors and nurse brilliant. Then transferred to assessment suite. Despite the ridiculously busyness of the ward all staff were very caring and attentive seeing to all my needs. Now on ward 4. I can’t praise the staff highly enough in these busy times for the NHS. Big thanks .

Review titled Waiting time/ service standards
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2023
Arrived 10.30 being sick continuously and vomiting non stop. Took good six hours to be checked by a doctor. Have to keep reminding nurses after doctor told us that will be given fluids through IV. Finaly after a little digging with one of the nurses they realised that we're waiting for fluids before we are sent home. Felt like if i was not there reminding them they will leave it for morning shift to pick up the pieces . Its 5.36 am right now and just given the fluids through IV. First treatment since arriving at 10.30 pm. I appreciate that its Saturday and a busy shift for staff but someone visibly in distress because of sickness/vomiting non stop should be given some empathy.

Review titled Shocking service!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024
Absolutely shocking been seen once beginning of last year and haven’t seen them since due to the department cancelling appointments! Now probably won’t be seen until July unless they cancel! No asnwers given or explanation. Of test results! Had to have 2 lumber punctures due to not taking bloods at the same time as lumber puncture. My eye specialist knew the results yet neurology have sent nothing to my gp or myself despite it showing some information!

Review titled Saved my life
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Diane Blackham - Posted on 16 January 2023
Unable to breathe so rushed in by son as daughter talked to ambulance service , which quoted a 4 hour wait. My memory of the incident is vaugue but I do remember hearing that I might die. I was put on a ventilator and remember nothing else till a nurse told me they were taking the tube out of my throat. Even that was vaugue but the one thing I do remember was the care and attention along with the encouragment that came my way. it was not a job it was a genuine set of people that worked hard to get me well again. My family were encouraged and welcomed to visit and always kept in the loop regarding my condition. The staff told them at the begining to be on stand by and as the days went by they were allowed to visit almost any time. I was, so I am told , on the ventilator for 10 days then another 2 weeks recovery and now at home. I owe my life to the quick thinking of my children and the fast actions of the RVI staff and for that I will always be in their debt.

Review titled Left clinic feeling happier
by Ashley47 - Posted on 31 January 2023
Referred to see doctor relating to menopausal symptoms post-hysterectomy. Despite the clinic overrunning by 60 minutes, all staff kept me up to date with what was happening. Doctor in the clinic was exceptionally sympathetic to my problem, discussed my options fully and gave me advice and medication to resolve my issues. Cannot fault her expertise and left clinic feeling happier than when I arrived. [Very happy with 'Staff attitude'] [Happy with 'Waiting time'] [Very happy with 'Seeing the whole me']

Review titled Amazing service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2022
Went to A&E with my son who had cut his hand through to the bone. Was triaged, seen by nurse consultant, X-ray done, dressed and booked in next day for operation. Efficient service, amazing staff. Please look after your doctors and nurses as this brilliant service relies on these people looking after us all.

Review titled Care, compassion and kindness
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen Featherstone - Posted on 27 November 2022
My daughter had a son a year ago, who sadly passed away after a few hours. The care, compassion and kindness our family received was overwhelming. She has happily just had a baby girl and every single member of staff who have been with her, caring for her and her husband, throughout her pregnancy, have been indescribably outstanding. I feel there are no words. Her consultants, midwives, neonatologists, HCA’s, everyone in Foetal Medicine, have been outstanding. Tiny Lives, the charity who have been there for them all year, have also been so wonderful. I just wish I could put into words, how very thankful we are to you all. 28 November would be our grandsons 1st birthday, and as we remember him, we’ll remember each and everyone of you for all your care, compassion, kindness and expertise, as we enjoy the love of our new granddaughter. Please pass on my email of gratitude to the maternity department and ward 32. Thank you.
