    I had to go to audiology today , my appointment was made within a few weeks , they were always on time , spent as kind as I needed , no rush , I really felt looked after and I can now hear again

    I have been waiting since August for a colonoscopy and finally got a letter on the 19th October to contact them which I did. Arranged for a appointment and was told a letter and instructions would be sent to me, and it arrived Monday morning. When I opened it I was surprised to see not only a letter but a lot of forms to read through, it did say you could ring up for information if you wanted to because to be honest I found it to be a lot of paperwork for a out patient procedure, never experienced anything like this before. I rang the department and asked to speak to a medical professional but the person I spoke to kept asking me what it was about and I kept telling her, but she didn't seem to understand me this was making me anxious and then she accused me of shouting at her! This is uncalled for, patients should be treated with respect not spoken to by a rude receptionist. This has put me off of going for this test now.

    Myself and my 16 yr son attended a&e 2/10/22, the department was overwhelming busy, but the care that my son received I can not fault. Doctors were quick to Diagnose with pneumothorax. All staff members involved from triage, to obs , to doctors to nursing staff to the porters showed nothing but empathy and kindness. Within the extremely busy departments took the time to listen to myself and my son, and not make the process or experience feel rushed!what was clearly a stressful shift for staff , absolutely did not reflect on the treatment received. Thank you, you kindness made my anxiety as a mum feel a little less overwhelming

    Had my 12 week scan today at Southend hospital, the whole experience was lovely from the lady in reception to the gentleman who performed my scan. Found out I'm measuring a week behind and he reassured me that that is normal. booked me in to be seen again in 10 days and let me listen to the heart beat for so long, baby wouldn't stop moving and it was just so so reassuring. Thank you so much

  5. Review titled Consistent good service in Audiology Dept

    For 3 years I’ve looked after my (dementia) father’s hearing needs and aids problems, as out patient and now an in-patient. audiology staff are reliably helpful with a problem solving, patient centred attitude. Thank you.

    Had to visit A and E for heart checkover, went in at 7pm left at 3am staff very good and friendly but very understaffed thought waiting time was a bit excessive but others had been waiit for 12hrs+ Needs a review and extra staff to combat the amount of patients

    After having a phone consultation in July with this department which my mum has been under before the first lockdown I was not happy that the consultant could not give me reply to any of my concerns. I have rang the department and have spoken to the secretary twice left a message and then speaking to her has they did not get back to me I was told by her that she will speak to the consultant and call me back has I would like a face to face appointment for my mum I again did not get a call back I appreciate that the hospital are busy but you cannot say one thing and do another.I am very concerned about my mum .

    I took my daughter this evening and I’ve never experienced such rude behaviour. I used to work in this department and never would I have ever made anyone feel how I was made to feel ! I was taught to treat people with kindness and empathy. I understand everyone is tired and busy but I would still be humble regardless of a bad shift. I felt like a criminal and everything I said (of course I don’t know what’s going on I’m a worried mum) but it was shut down with a rude response and then there was no dignity at all when it came to giving my female pre teen an ECG ! Then after waiting for 5 hours !!! Which I also understand people are poorly and it’s busy. The dr made me feel like I was totally stupid and again like a bad parent!

    5 hours in A&E, not seen, more & more patients came...4 doctors there but they saw on average 1 patient every 2 hours?? A boss is needed in A&E to ensure the doctors are working in a timely manner & they definitely need targets to achieve, it was very clear a boss was needed to organise them & crack the whip.

    Please pass on our thanks the A&E staff. Every staff member we encountered was polite, professional and great with our little boy. Particular thanks to your lovely XRay team. They knew just how to interact with our small son and make him feel safe and comfortable. That is so appreciated.
