  1. Review titled Still.... Wasting time but not the point here

Rated 1 star out of 5

So after my last review I got told here send us an email will get in contact so I sent an email and waited ..... It's been another 5 weeks not only that but my last review was deleted .... Why first I'd like to know I wasent rude or posted inappropriate language but yet I got censored ? Right .... And second why tell me your going to reply if your not going to ? Why lie why not just tell me no we aren't going to help you go back to your consistent pain with the broken bone we know you have had for over 3 months now and still haven't done a thing .... Just confuses me to how you lot need more money yet you can't even smile at patients ...... Needs scrapping or looking at properly

  4. Review titled Outstanding.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Ward 19 this morning for a pre-assessment appointment. I had to sit outside the ward prior to being called in and I was so delighted to find many of the staff passing me took the time and trouble to say good morning. The first half of my pre-assessment was undertaken by a lovely young nurse who put me at ease beautifully. I then had to wait outside in the corridor again before the second part. I was opposite the Childrens' Out Patient department. A member of staff from this unit asked me if I was OK and would I like a blanket. How thoughtful. Second part of the pre-assessment was carried out by a lovely nurse who went over things with me very thoroughly. 1 hour 15 minutes later I was making my exit armed with very helpful booklets regarding the procedure that I am due to have on the 18th January. I couldn't have asked for more this morning. I felt valued and would like to thank everyone.

  5. Review titled Ward 17 Respiratory

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 December 2022

Although all staff on this ward are fabulous I was shocked today when visiting a relative to see one nurse and all HCAs with their masks under their chins. This is a respiratory ward and therefore all patients are vulnerable to airborne viruses, let alone elderly visitors going into the ward. Does not set a good example for visitors when staff don’t follow the rules.

Good morning Thank you for your feedback, it is extremely disappointing to read this as infection prevention and control is of the upmost importance to us as a Trust. I will ensure this is shared with the appropriate team and their managers for immediate review. I agree this does not set a good example and I offer my apologies for this. 6. Review titled Wonderful care and diagnosis

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended A and E today (12 Dec 2022) at about 11am, with my daughter, following a brief episode, the second in two months. It was heaving and I nearly didn't stay but I was called to triage fairly quickly. The nurse was lovely but I could sense a calm urgency about her as she listened to everything I had to say and referred me for a CT scan. I waited on chair 3 in the corridor where I was attended to by another lovely, kind efficient nurse. 2 doctors came to speak to me, an older one in glasses and a younger one. Kindness and efficiency abounded, they listened to everything I said and confirmed I would be having a CT scan. A lovely porter and another nurse took me to the Blue Sky Imaging Dept where I was seen straight away by lovely staff. The results came back quickly confirming I had suffered a stroke previously. A couple of other nurses attended to do an ECG and give me meds, again lovely. One of the doctors spent time explaining everything to me before I was discharged. I could not fault any of the treatment I received, it was second to none, despite how busy it was. I've not named anybody because I didn't get everybody's name but when I speak to my daughter tomorrow she may remember the ones I didn't, and I'd be happy to let you have them!

  7. Review titled Bad practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Rang ambulance 4.30 pm, ambulance turned up 8,30 lovely ambulance staff, reached Scunthorpe hospital 9.50. My son who is severely autistic who doesn’t communicate at all, was bought in possible fracture or dislocation of shoulder, nurse ask would he allows us to check blood pressure and oxygen, by nothing was done, 6 hours later we ask are we going to see a doctor as my son is distressed and anxious, shockingly been told seeing urgent patients who need urgent care, but no X-rays or scans carried out or any assessment to find out severity of his injury, 8 hours later we ask again, same reply, but I don’t get it, I respect there hard work, if my son wasn’t autistic and could communicate I would have understood the situation, but a child who is minor cannot express and her confused, how do you justify, still waiting to be seen…..

  8. Review titled Shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned 111 after speaking with my appointed McMillan nurse, received a text message saying I had an appointment for out hours at 6 pm. Arrived at Scunthorpe General to be told they didn’t do appointments I explained my reason for attending the hospital. Was taken up to gynaecology assessment ward. Waited 5 hours in absolute agony as I’m waiting for surgery for suspected ovarian cancer. Nursing staff was unable to give any form of pain relief until I had been seen by a Dr. The nurse on duty paged the drs at least 5 times expressing how much pain I was in. No dr came to check or assess me.I could not stand the pain any longer, the nurse paged the dr again but still no dr came. I ended up leaving driving home in sheer agony at 11.45 at night so I could take my own pain relief which was prescribed by my GP. I would like to make it perfectly clear it was not the nurse on duty in any way at all. I find it absolutely ludicrous that nurses are unable to give you something as simple as paracetamol.

  9. Review titled Lack of duty of care

by Sstead - Posted on 07 November 2022

Some staff on the maternity ward are very rude, including ward manager. Limited care given to patients. Took 12 hours to give antibiotics medication after surgery for childbirth, with the only excuse of we are busy. In 15 hours after birth of baby, my baby was only checked twice despite being told he had to have 3 hourly hopes, again the only excuse was we are busy. No regard for patients' wellbeing. Overall, an extreme lack of care, poor manner, and an overall attitude of lack of being even remotely bothered.
