  1. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Shoukry - Posted on 11 June 2023

I was admitted to RSCH from A&E on Sunday 28th May 2023 and in Albury Ward until 2nd June. From start to finish I received exemplary care and attention. - delivered with professionalism, care, compassion and humour. I observed the same high standards in the care of fellow patients on the ward. I felt I was treated as an individual and staff always had time to talk despite being so busy. The same applied to all the services including the catering and cleaning staff. I would like to express my thanks to everyone involved in my care - I couldnt wish for better. if there were 10 stars for the best experience possible I would rate RSCH with 10. I hope this message will be passed on to all the staff - they worked so well as a team as well as individuals. Thank you to everyone.

  2. Review titled good service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Dil Williamson-Smith - Posted on 24 May 2023

I was a very anxious patient (despite working in the NHS for 30 years I always dislike any medical appointments pertaining to me) the care and re-assurance I received from all the staff I encountered on my two visits to the day surgery unit was wonderful. More than my treatment I was so impressed listening to the time and patience all of the staff gave to all of the patients both before and after their procedures. It makes me glad to see that some of the sectors still operate in a way that I was so proud of, in general, during my work within the NHS. Thank you all .

  3. Review titled Insomnia clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by KATHLEEN GLEESON - Posted on 22 June 2023

I've not been sleeping well for a long time however, I was referred to this clinic and having a lovely lady on the end of a phone given me advice that helped me quite quickly was wonderful. I implemented what I was advised to do and I'm happy to say it worked.

I want to thank all the staff who treated me when I went to A&E and then the next day at AEC. Every member of staff were caring and considerate from the time I arrived and kept me updated throughout on what they were doing to diagnose the pain. I would especially like to thank the nurse in majors who was attentive despite being very busy and nothing was too much.

  6. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr J Long - Posted on 12 April 2023

I just wanted to write to thank all those in AEC who treated and cared for me whilst I was an in-patient from 4-7 April. Everyone, without exception, provided me with the most excellent care .. the doctors, the nurses and all the other bedside support staff. I could not fault their treatment of me, their care, compassion, and thoughtfulness was way and beyond what I could have ever possibly expected. Even the doctor who saw me, and subsequently telephoned me at home, having, it would seem, ignored the call for strike action, went way and beyond anything I could have ever expected, or hoped for. Thank you from the bottom of my heart .. to everyone!

  7. Review titled all staff were very caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Ann Kerr - Posted on 09 May 2023

To all the medical and supporting teams at A and E and in the Hindhead Ward including the palliative care team: Dear all I wish I could thank each and everyone of you personally for your care and attention of my mother last Thursday and Friday, but I don’t want to stop you doing what you do best, caring for your patients! A particular thank you though to one of the nurses who attended my mother in A and E, he was exceptional, such a lovely chap, very patient and thoughtful, and also to the NHS volunteer lady who comes in every Thursday and gives even the patients carers and family cups of tea, you were great comfort to us and also my mother. But without exception, everyone we encountered, porters included, were amazing, and I am so glad we came to Royal Surrey and not another hospital. Sadly my mother didn’t make it, she was two weeks away from her 98th birthday, and its such a shame she missed watching the third coronation of her lifetime, but her last hours in the hospital were calm, and peaceful, and she wasn’t in pain, and we were able to be with her when she passed, which is what she wanted above all else. A huge amount of thanks and respect to you all, you are all angels.

  8. Review titled Efficient, professional and friendly

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jacqueline Howlett - Posted on 28 April 2023

I have never been to RSCH before but was so impressed from the moment I entered the door. As I was looking on the map in the entrance a member of staff showed me where I needed to go. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the breast surgeon and nurse could not have been more professional, friendly and helpful, scanning was fast and efficient and follow up on the day was professional. I was out within an hour. Great service. Congratulations to the whole team.

  9. Review titled First class service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stephen Twilley - Posted on 10 April 2023

I visited A&E at around 4.15 pm on Easter Saturday. Reception was calm, friendly and efficient and we agreed that all I needed was "Minors". I was shown into the appropriate waiting area and told that the wait could be upto 2 hours. At about 4.50 pm I was summoned to another cubicle where a clinical care practitioner took care of my infected finger quickly and efficiently (sterilised, lanced, drained, cleaned up and dressed) and I left at about 5.10 pm with dressings, antibiotics and clear instructions. The practitioner was cheerful, professional and informative. I would be grateful if you could pass on my appreciation to both her, and the lady at reception who checked me in. This performance mirrors that enjoyed by my wife earlier this year - clearly Royal Surrey has its A&E well organised and well staffed. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Lovely professional staff but awful waiting room music

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alison - Posted on 20 April 2023

I think RSCH is excellent. I am a nurse myself although I don't work here. However, the awful music in the waiting area made me feel much worse. Who on earth thought it was a good idea? The reception staff agreed that it was annoying. It is against all guidance for hospitals to have this noise - for dementia, hearing loss and neurodiversity in particular. I am a specialist in built environments so this is my field of expertise. Please, please take it out. It's not fair on staff or patients.
