  1. Review titled Amazing Post Operative Care - Max Fac Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James - Posted on 26 April 2024

I visited last week to have a biopsy undertaken with the Max Fac team. However I developed and infection and subsequent complications afterwards. I was given extremely helpful advice and seen very quickly via the SDEC unit - I was able to see a doctor and treated the same day on two separate occasions as well as some additional stitching I required also done same day. The team were friendly and extremely supportive. I dealt with an on call doctor who was able to call me back very late into the night and give me the best care remotely and get me in the next day for treatment. Big shout out to the doctor who stitched me up today. Thank you. Fab team and a great hospital

  2. Review titled Thank you isn't really good enough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paula Ratcliffe - Posted on 18 April 2024

I returned from France to the UK 8.5 months into my pregnancy and my care was picked up by this hospital with absolutely no problems. I was extremely nervous to be using a UK hospital after losing my dad a couple of years back. From the moment we first walked through the doors the experience here has been outstanding. When we walked in for our first appointment we had no idea where to go and were quickly met by a volunteer who walked us to where we needed to be and chatted to us all the way there. At the reception of the Anti-natal clinic they are amazing, in particular there is a lady who was always on the right hand side of the reception desk who is always so smiley, friendly and helpful. We had a couple of small experiences with a lady there from Sri Lanka (we didn't get her name) and she was fabulous, so smiley and joyful. We then needed to go to St Catherines ward and wow, from the moment we arrived we have been amazed by everyone we have met. It was approximately 2 weeks from my first appointment to me giving birth to our beautiful daughter and due to some blood pressure issues we met many people and I am so grateful to each and every one of them. There are a few names in particular of people who either helped more than once or stood out but we honestly were blown away by the whole team throughout the hospital. At one point my mum got herself a bit lost and having realised how amazing every person at the hospital is she went with the tactic of standing for a moment looking lost in the hope someone would help her and straight away someone who looked like they were just finishing work saw her and offered help! She is now trying to find me a job at the hospital when my maternity finishes!! Every time we have been walking around, in a lift, on the end of the phone to some one or being seen by people we have had the most positive experiences. I felt like I was the only patient that the team there had to deal with, I always felt like I was their priority even though they were clearly always busy with plenty to do. What an amazing set of people you have there. My experience at this hospital has left me so blown away that everyone who has asked about the birth has had to hear my run down of my experiences at this hospital. I am thinking of having another baby just so I can be treated there again!

  3. Review titled Outstanding and efficient NHS Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharon - Posted on 23 April 2024

Rarely do I provide feedback for service. On this occasion, I feel compelled to do so proceeding my appointment today. I was invited to RSCH Max Fac outpatients for a consultation. An x-ray followed then a discussion of the x-ray results. Completed in less than 50 minutes, less time than a catch-up with a friend over a refreshment. Efficiency of service delivered with compassionate professionals. I would highly recommend.

My adult son came in on a Sunday with suspected appendicitis. He was seen by doctors promptly, and with professionalism, and was operated on swiftly and looked after by all members of staff.

  5. Review titled Trip Hazardous chairs in wait area in a and e

Witnessed 2 people trip over metal chair legs which stick out At the rear And cause a sig hazard. Can’t quite believe you would allow this silly unsafe design in an area where people are unwell and have mobility issues. Ok get health and safety to assess the issue for patient safety !!

Dear Lisa, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit to our emergency department. The location and design of our waiting area chairs has been reviewed by the clinical team and assurances sought by our health and safety colleagues. Your concerns will be fed back to the clinical and admin team in our emergency department to ensure consistent review of chair locations occurs to make sure they are not moved during shifts by our visitors or patients. We thank you for highlighting this as a potential concern. Kind regards from Elaine Kavanagh, Matron for Accreditation and Patient Experience

  6. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Melissa McConnell - Posted on 21 April 2024

Within 24 hours of my 17month old baby girl falling and lacerating her forehead, she was taken to theatre to have it stitched closed to give the best chance of minimal scarring. The care and treatment provided, despite the ward and theatres being so busy, was outstanding and my husband and I will be forever grateful. Keep up the wonderful work.

  7. Review titled Perfect experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Shannon Pitts - Posted on 28 April 2024

I visited A&E once overnight and again later the same day for difficulties with my throat. I was at a point of desperation seeking answers. The team I was met with at Royal Surrey were professional, reassuring and extremely competent. Sometimes working for the NHS and visiting other hospitals I struggle to see how good it can be (through the hard work of individuals) but visiting here has restored my faith. Both ENT doctors I saw were thorough, helpful and I have left feeling reassured, able to hopefully recover at home. I would not visit another A&E again.

  8. Review titled Insomnia Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 April 2024

My sleep was very bad before I started the CBT with Insomnia Service. After 6 months, and despite a few major negative life events during the treatment, my sleep has drastically improved. It is not 100% perfect but now I am equipped with useful tools and mindset to improve it even more. The journey was not easy at all but it was worth it in the end. If you consider CBT for Insomnia, I highly recommend it. I would like to thank the Insomnia Service for all the materials, 1-2-1 calls and guidance.

  10. Review titled Short Stay Surgery Unit - efficient and very kind staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia - Posted on 05 April 2024

All the staff in this unit were knowledgeable, caring and kind. There seemed to be always someone on hand for advice or help and my needs were often anticipated. I think the ready availability of a staff member was the result of the efficiency and speed of working of those in this unit. I would like to thank them all, as they made what could be a very anxious time into a calm and manageable experience.
