  1. Review titled Insomnia Help

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alison Wyatt - Posted on 09 April 2024

Having suffered from insomnia for many many years I was literally at the end of my tether, so to speak. I read online about the Royal Surrey Guildford having a sleep clinic so then I asked my GP to refer me -which he did. The person who contacted me from the Insomnia Clinic was very very understanding & also very patient. She really helped me to understand how to deal with my insomnia in a different way - that it turn helped me to cope. Having the support from her plus the CBT they use definitely has really helped. The online videos I was able to access were also extremely helpful - plus the fact I can still refer to these whenever I need to makes me feel a whole lot better. I wouldn't say I am cured - but my sleep pattern is so much better than it was & I feel a lot more confident going forward. I am very grateful for the help & support I have received from my contact & the Insomnia Clinic.

  2. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Abbie - Posted on 26 March 2024

I was sent to the Royal Surrey on the 13th of March when I fell ill. I normally go to Frimley but they didn't have space. I was seen to as soon as I got there and put on an IV and felt better within a couple of hours. I had to have several scans and a lumbar puncture which were all completed within one morning. The care I had was amazing - every nurse/doctor was kind and attentive and I felt safe and so cared for. I ended up staying in for 5 days but had such a positive experience because of the people looking after me. I stayed in the isolation ward so thank you to everyone working there and in a&e.

  3. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Diane Bradbury - Posted on 26 March 2024

Having experienced a bad fall I attended A&E minor injuries clinic. I was seen swiftly and assessed. I was referred for an x-ray of my left hand and wrist . I waited just a few minutes for this. My wounds were then cleaned by a nurse who was very kind. His initial assessment of the x-rays was that nothing was broken. I was discharged just two hours after arriving with a splint for my wrist. Two days later I received a call from the same nurse to say that the x-rays had been studied more closely and that he could confirm that there was definitely nothing broken. Now that's what I call service! (with a smile)

  4. Review titled Very empathetic clinician and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Trevor Combes - Posted on 15 March 2024

As a retired dental surgeon and clinician I was very impressed by my experience today. The doctor I saw is to be praised for his kind professional manner and explanation of my condition, and its treatment. He will go far, in my opinion! All the staff were a joy to come into contact with and were a credit to a well run NHS department.

  7. Review titled Exceptional care & dedicated Healthcare professionals

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kathryn - Posted on 13 April 2024

I'd like to express how grateful I am to the Intravenous Nurse Specialist, the Radiology Doctor, the Gastroenterology Consultant, all the Nurses on Millbridge Ward & the staff in Interventional Radiology, who worked together to coordinate multiple aspects of my extremely complex care, which resulted in a successful inpatient admission, and a favourable clinical outcome. In my opinion, Royal Surrey ought to be rated: "Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission, as these highly skilled individuals went out of their way to plan, schedule & facilitate the treatment I needed, within a 2 day period (which included a Saturday!) It's hard to adequately convey just how much of a difference it makes as a patient, to arrive on a ward & be greeted by familiar faces, as it immediately creates a feeling of reassurance, trust & safety, thanks to the family-feel atmosphere. It was very apparent that staff at Royal Surrey truly do care, despite the immense pressure & challenges faced by the National Health Service on a daily basis. The questions I had were all promptly answered in a very caring manner, every single interaction I had was positive & I was kept fully informed throughout. At several of the other Hospitals I regularly attend, I'm very sad to say that this isn't always the case anymore, especially since Covid. This inpatient admission was by far the best I've experienced at any Hospital, in a very long time, and staff at Royal Surrey really do deserve recognition for the incredible job they do, in the face of such overwhelming adversity. Royal Surrey Hospital is a shining example of how healthcare services should be delivered, and staff are a credit to the Trust. Thank you, sincerely!

  8. Review titled Sensitive swift clinical assessment

    by Rosie M - Posted on 29 April 2024

Our mother was in the dying phase but it was recommended she be transported to A and E for additional assessment. This meant travel by ambulance . The crew were excellent and kind . Once reaching A and E we naturally needed to wait to be assessed but it was not long before a cubicle was found. As time went by. I requested my mother was seen swiftly as she was terminally ill. The A and E sister on duty plus the registrar were outstanding. Despite other distractions they sensed the urgency for a clinical decision and assessed she could go home. It potentially meant she could have died in A and E or the hospital and would have been in appropriate as her wishes were to remain at home to die. As it was rather than wait for an ambulance to take her home from A and E with the sisters help we transported our mother to our car and got her home quickly and safely tucked up in bed. She died a few days later. These two clinicians are excellent role models for the NHS. Despite many pressures in their clinical setting they responded to the individual needs of my mother and we will always be grateful. We would like to thank them personally too for revalidation evidence of their clinical care . Thank you very much.

  10. Review titled Out standing Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mary Laker - Posted on 21 March 2024

I arrived at the A&E dept. on Friday 15th of March. Feeling a little anxious. But I was put at ease immediately. All the staff I met were reassuring competent and were very capable. I should have liked to name those I met but they will know who they are from a very grateful patient. Long live the NHS.
