Review titled Nurturing and friendly practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Melissa - Posted on 20 February 2023
I'm just home from having a short stay on the ENT ward. I'm a nervous person and was quite worried about what the stay would be like, but the staff on the ward were so kind, helpful and efficient, I immediately felt safe and comfortable in the environment. I just want to say what a true asset this wonderful team is to the Hallamshire and the NHS. Thank you so much.

Review titled Long delay no information.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 August 2023
I have been waiting for a hearing aid since the 9th of February 2023 I telephoned on the 3rd of August 2023 and was connected to the Bookings department where I was advised “ yes there is a long delay on this department, I’m not sure why” I asked if there was someone I could speak to in the Audiology department but was told “there isn’t a number for them”. I am appalled by the abysmal service that I and I’m sure many others are receiving from the Audiology department and the total lack of information that is available regarding when I will receive my promised hearing aid.

Review titled Lovely, welcoming team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Taylor - Posted on 23 January 2023
I visited the practice for a concerning skin lump. The doctor, consultant, and nurse team were so friendly and helpful during what was a distressing time for me. They were very open and made me feel so comfortable. I feel we are quick to share complaints, but often reluctant to share positive feedback, which is not fair, especially during these extremely challenging times. I hope this team, like all in the NHS, receive the recognition and praise they deserve.

Review titled Poor communication and pointless appointments
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 January 2023
I was seen by the ENT department in September 2022 after waiting over a year to get a referral from by GP. After my appointment with them, I was told a referral had been made to SALT, who would be in touch. I contacted both ENT and SALT several times as no contact had been made. Both said there was nothing they could do and they would eventually contact me. In January 2023 I was contacted by ENT who said I needed an appointment with them. I questioned this twice explaining that I had already been seen and a referral had been made. I was told the reason for the appointment could not be discussed over the phone and that I should attend. I had to take time off work and travel from Manchester for this, only to get there and be told I didn’t need to be seen and that they were going to cancel my appointment but didn’t. I was genuinely shocked by this and explained my confusion. I asked them to reiterate the process and confirm who would be contacting me. Again, it was more of ‘someone will be in touch’. I am so confused by this waste of time and resources and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication. I understand wait times are lengthy and that’s an annoyance but not something that overly bothered me, but to get me to attend a pointless appointment is something else. How did this even happen? Really would not recommend this hospital at all. This whole experience has been a nightmare, and I doubt I’ll even get treatment at this point.
