  1. Review titled Miscarriage care

    by sunny75 - Posted on 02 August 2023

Sadly went through a miscarriage recently, but the team at Exeter Women's Health Centre were all very kind and supportive and handled the situation very sensitively. The service was efficient and I felt well looked after. The kindness of the staff was really valuable to me.

  2. Review titled Excellence in hip replacement

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robert Ferrier - Posted on 03 August 2023

I was lucky to get a cancellation for full hip replacement. The slick, professional and friendly treatment from the initial contact to my discharge was I felt exceptionally good. The operation went so well I actually have not memory of it . The pre op , admission and anaesthetic procedure were excellent and informative. Post op on the recovery ward and working towards discharge was friendly caring and not without humour. Less than a week after the operation I am mobile and able to resume life although still somewhat restricted. The team should rightly be proud of their professionalism and care throughout. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone needing a hip operation.

  3. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Sally-Ann Hunt - Posted on 20 July 2023

Yesterday I suffered a very severe nosebleed, my third in a month; I was advised by the 111 service to attend A and E in Exeter. Although there were delays which I’d expected, when I was seen, I was thoroughly examined and a complete medical history was taken by a nurse practitioner whose knowledge and reassuring, friendly manner impressed me. She contacted an ENT doctor who came to see me and carried out a surgical procedure on my nose. Again, her manner and expertise were reassuring and impressive. I am extremely grateful to the NHS and all the hardworking staff in this department, especially to the two members who attended to me.

  5. Review titled Excellent Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2023

Excellent 5* care given to my 97-year-old Mum in the Orthopaedics Department recently. The attention and treatment she received from all staff was outstanding and she felt completely at ease. Can’t fault anything. However, the car-park service was disappointing with the inability to pay either by contactless card or ‘phone app although signage said you could, and to top it all a payment in cash on one visit resulted in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued for the date and time in question. Just as well I retained my Car-park receipt, so I now have to go through the Appeal process. Visited daily and paid in cash each time, so just waiting for more erroneous PCN’s to pop through the letterbox.

  6. Review titled So thankful for the relief

    by pepperyh78 - Posted on 23 June 2023

When I phoned the unit to ask if they could help me there was no hesitation in telling me to come into the unit straight away. I was having radiotherapy and I was suffering with burns which felt very painful, they contacted Exeter hospital who told them the treatment I needed and this was carried out straight away. The relief I had was unbelievable, I was out of pain straight away, thank goodness for this unit they are fantastic. I want to thank each and everyone involved in my care.

  7. Review titled Cancelled operation

    by Mick68.5 - Posted on 13 June 2023

After struggling and waiting two months to have my operation for a pace maker to be fitted tomorrow only to get a phone call this afternoon to be told that they have cancelled the operation due to the lack of bed and will have to wait until the end of July which I find rather disappointing

  9. Review titled Incredible care in ED

    by Casizz48 - Posted on 05 July 2023

I attended the ED in July at approx 1:30pm, after falling ill whilst at a festival. (It was an 80s festival, so attending dressed like Madonna is not my usual mode of dress) I arrived in an ambulance by lovely paramedics and was taken straight into resus, where everyone was waiting for me, as I had a fast heart rate which would not come down. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the team that looked after me, they were incredible, I work in an emergency department as part of the admin team, so am fully aware of how hard they all work, but to experience it as a patient just made me realise exactly how hard working and dedicated they are, Thank you all so much, I am so grateful, and so is my husband for answering all his questions, and explaining what was happening, you are all incredible.

  10. Review titled My care today

    by slideyy69 - Posted on 16 May 2023

I fell in the shower and gashed my shin deeply, down to the bone. I was triaged quickly at A and E dept at the RD and E in Exeter. Then a 5 hour wait for treatment but oh, the quality of care I received was superb. The 3 women who treated me were outstanding and I want to tell them how much I appreciate everything they did for me.
