Review titled Stoma Care Team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John Darley - Posted on 22 June 2023
I just wanted to leave a short review to thank all the members of the Stoma care team. Their help and support to me has been superb. Always listening to my problems and challenges, always helpful. Even when help is not immediately possible they always remember to call back and follow up which is brilliant. Thanks to all of the team.

Review titled Wait until staff are ready
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 June 2023
On attending an and e following the advice of 111 I waited in to be called. Following watching another 9 people asking how long the wait would be and seeing staff members huddled around laughing and not seeing to anyone waiting. The staff members of hen helped an elderly lady make a call home which was lovely to see however they then proceeded to start looking through several photos on her phone (4 members of staff) meanwhile another member staff who was seeing to someone had been calling for one of the four staff members to help her- she waited 20 minutes before the member of staff decided to help. On asking how long the wait would be because I had 1.5 hours before I needed to pick up my child from day care I was told well we’ve got 4 hours and then you should be seen. Not a response nor attitude that I expected from a member of staff representing the hospital and as such I decided to leave without any treatment. Suffice to say that I will not be returning to the hospital by choice and in future will go elsewhere or deal with dislocations at home.

Review titled Excellent service

Very reassuring the whole experience. The staff from the reception, consultants and the Doctor were kind and pleased to help in anyway they could and went out of their way to help me to deal with my situation. I went into the hospital today feeling very alone and flustered and came out feeling positive and empowered. Thank you to all of you, I now feel positive with all the information instead of negative and looking forward with acceptance and understanding of all the information and support I have been giving. Kind regards Ivy

Review titled An amazing, caring set of people
by Citygirl70 - Posted on 11 May 2023
My daughter, aged 19, was admitted to the ward with acute tonsillitis and glandular fever. The care she received on the ward was amazing. She was scared, poorly and overwhelmed. The staff took her details and listened to us when we explained she is under investigation for Autism. Visiting was 9am to 8pm and there was never any pressure to be off the ward. We left her on the night she was admitted explaining that she was very anxious as this was her first time in hospital. During the night she was messaging us saying she didn't want to be there. I phoned the ward at 3.30 in the night and they were extremely understanding and let me come in and spend the rest of the night with her. The nurses had been trying their best to console her and be with her but with how stretched the NHS is they just don't have the time. The next afternoon we spoke to one of the nurses to ask if I could stay with her again that night. The ward manager agreed as my daughter was so anxious. It was a relief and comfort to both my daughter, myself and my husband to know how accomodating they were and helpful. They were an amazing, caring set of people. The nurses and health care assistants on that ward were amazing and fantastic. The ENT doctors were amazing too and very efficient. They explained everything that was happening and explained the care that was needed. Thank you so much. [Unsure about 'Staff attitude'] [Unsure about 'Seeing the whole me']

Review titled The care I received by the staff was above and beyond.
by SY55 - Posted on 31 May 2023
I attended the Diagnostic Endoscopy Unit for routine follow-up procedure. I received the phone call on Thursday to give me an appointment on the Saturday. I arrived in the unit, booked in and was called in within a few minutes. The nurses explained the procedure in detail and gave me a choice of having sedation or not. I chose not have sedation as I was told I could leave an hour earlier without it. I was kept informed by the staff throughout the procedure and the care I received by the staff was above and beyond. Thank you

Review titled Amazing
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Steven Norris - Posted on 03 May 2023
After our son became really unwell we took him “Roman” to Bolton hospital and they took us in straight away. Roman had a very high temp and wasn’t responsive at all. All his needs was met! Straight onto antibiotics, the people in the ward was all amazing polite & lovely people. Even the training nurses was so nice! It all came back that Roman has a virus called rosyola that’s a mild virus in comparison to lots of others. All his tests was done so good and fast. (Big thanks to the porters that push people up and down that long steep corridor to you guys are awesome) thanks to the doctors that took there time listening to us as parents and reacting to what we said. I’d never hesitate to bring our kids here or myself…. Thanks for everything it really was our privilege being under your care.

Today (15/5/23) I went to spec to have a lumbar puncture. I received amazing service from and nurse and their student nurse. Both of them were extremely professional and explained the procedure very well. They made me feel at ease. The procedure went great. I was very worried when going in but came out very happy with the service provided. The two nurses I just want to say thank-you so much as they were amazing.

Review titled Exceptional level of care and service!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Amanda S - Posted on 10 August 2023
I needed to express my thanks to all at Bolton Accident and Emergency. I was admitted in May this year twice, one involved an ambulance sent from Wigan, a further episode a Dr was sent to my home address. As a fit and healthy 50 year old the need for emergency care was terrifying due to an acute asthma attack, now referred to asthma specialist team. The level of care and attention from every member of staff was exceptional. In these current times there is even more need to recognise al the incredible work our NHS staff do. When I refer to the staff these includes from ringing for advice, the reception team, nurses and doctors, along with X-ray, blood testing, asthma team and the staff who took extra attention to find gf toast for my breakfast. I do hope this can be feedback to the staff involved. Without that emergency care I might not be here to write this! Thank you and well done.
