  1. Review titled EPU

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amy fisher - Posted on 16 February 2023

I recently suffered an early miscarriage and I tried other EPU’s closer to me who were impossible to get hold of, ring 111 and even my own doctors who all were pretty useless. Qeqm were straight on it, took my bloods 4 different days to make sure my levels were going down as they had a little rise in the middle and done a scan prob the usual expected treatment. However I’m writing this as during this difficult time one nurse in particular has had me laughing and making my days a little brighter when I really needed it. They’re definitely well suited to the job as that’s exactly what you need in times like this and I just wanted to say a big thankyou! I would definitely recommend Margate’s early pregnancy unit they have been really thorough.

  2. Review titled Top Notch

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Lawrence - Posted on 17 February 2023

I had an appointment at this department on 14/02/2023 and was overwhelmed by the kindness and professionalism of all the Doctors, Nurses and Reception staff. I felt I was treated with great respect by all I saw. As I was not seeing clearly after the eye drops I was kindly escorted to a waiting room for transportation home. I could not ask for better treatment. The world was a better place that day.

  3. Review titled Marvellous staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andrew Wells - Posted on 22 February 2023

My wife was taken by ambulance to QEQM on Monday 20 February. Although the A&E was absolutely heaving, the care she received was exemplary. The staff deserve praise- and a healthy pay rise!

  4. Review titled Children's A&E - Wonderful Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 February 2023

After a terrible experience leaving my daughter needing urgent hospital care, we found ourselves at QEQM children's A&E department They were busy, but all staff was friendly, amazing with children and helped her through a battery of tests. She actually enjoyed the majority of her day at the hospital because the staff were so fun and kind. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby

  5. Review titled 1st class staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After attending A and E on Monday 23rd Jan, with my elderly mother, I have to say I could not fault any member of staff at all they all worked extremely tirelessly and professionally under sometimes difficult circumstances, and managed to keep a sense of humour and a smile. My mother had excellent treatment and care by all the doctors and nursing staff and the ambulance team who were very prompt to arrive, and take her safely to hospital. I would just like to thank them all for their excellent work

  6. Review titled My admission for Asthma attack

    by TJ474 - Posted on 28 December 2022

I was unwell with an asthma attack and couldn’t get to see my doctor because it was Christmas. I phoned 111 for advice and they wanted to call an ambulance for me. I said my daughter would take me in to save the ambulance service a trip. I arrived in the afternoon at the time they had given me an arrival slot. The nurse on 111 was very clear I should go straight to the urgent care department for treatment and not to A&E which would mean me sitting around for hours. I know this from previous admissions. However, when I got to the QEQM Hospital the checking in nurse said that the urgent care was actually an appointment with my GP (?) and I was too sick to wait for that, so she sent me through to A&E. I tried to explain I needed a nebuliser urgently to no avail over the next four hours. I had chest x-ray and blood, which I knew were going to be clear. When you are an asthmatic and have frequent attacks, you do get to know what is going on, and what you urgently need to enable you to breathe again! I was finally put on a nebuliser about 4 hours after my arrival… by this time, I was feeling exhausted, hot and had an awful headache. Asthma attacks should be something that are highlighted… I don't think you should make somebody hang around for treatment when they are having trouble breathing and speaking. I can’t fault the attitude of the staff as everybody was hard-working, and kind. But to make an asthmatic wait hours for a nebuliser in my opinion is quite frankly dangerous. I am not sure why the nurse thought the urgent care department meant an appointment with my GP… It is clearly a department through the A&E because I have been there before for treatment. Thankfully, after the nebuliser, I was allowed to go home to recover with steroids and antibiotics. Please give some credit to asthma sufferers who know what treatment they need urgently to enable them to breathe!

  7. Review titled Lack of service

    by Grumpygirl72 - Posted on 22 December 2022

I had to go to Queen Elizabeth hospital for a check up and so far I've had a pleasant experience of the hospital and staff. I was wheeled around to the discharge lounge where I found the person at the desk to be harsh and brash. I was booked in and ushered to a room with maybe 15 chairs in it to wait for my transport. Whilst I was waiting 3 other patients arrived to be discharged. Only one patient was made a cup of tea and the rest of us were ignored.

  8. Review titled Amazing assistance

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2022

I spent a good part of the day at QEQM Hospital while my husband underwent a cardiac procedure. Throughout the time there, employees of the hospital, nurses, porters, ancillary staff were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They showed kindness and helped me so much. Thank you to all of you even though you probably never know how much it meant.

  9. Review titled Professional staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Philip Thompson - Posted on 10 November 2022

My wife was referred to Ambulatory care unit for a scan for possible DVT. On arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner by a student nurse who took my wife's observations. Then the Sister had a chat with my wife and explained the procedure. A scan was taken and we returned back to ACU. All staff were kind and friendly in their manner. The results were soon given to us and all was well! From arrival to leaving we spent just 2 hours. A credit to the NHS. Thank you.

From the arrival of the lovely paramedics to the kindness of the hospital staff, our experience of the QEQM was a positive one. My mum was treated with care and respect and the staff were kind and efficient even though they were very, very busy.
