Review titled Decent practice far away from you a&e
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mario - Posted on 01 March 2024
In summary, I called 111 because I was having headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Paramedics got in touch with me soon after. They recognised that I could get myself to a&e. I felt nauseated, lost my balance while standing, and decided to take a taxi instead. I got to e&e. The doctor advised me to take medication after comparing my symptoms to those from years ago(how come, symptoms persist the same all life, nothing change, don't we get older ? where is profesionality/expertise?). That's it. I was so sick that I could hardly stand on my legs, and this is an e&e excellent practice with talk in news and newspaper ,how NHS save lifes(sorry not everyone)? You saved resources and money in my case, good but you can apply it a a private sector company, not in heath care. If you claim that you provide excellent practice and services then why I did not get it?! Now, in order to check the blood sugar level, if you present to an emergency room with symptoms similar to mine, they must take your blood. Since this will inform you of what comes next. Additionally, an ECG must be performed if you present with symptoms similar to mine. These two actions are fundamental standard protocols that should always be followed in case of emergency. I speak for myself; I don't visit the emergency room to talk, smile, or inquire about a title. They have an obligation to attend. Physicians pledged to save lives. A decent practice is far away from you.

Review titled Abuse by outpatients
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Ken Taylor - Posted on 04 February 2024
Received message saying I had failed to attend an appointment, I spent 2 days trying to make contact, and was told by my surgery to try outpatients: Call 1 too busy try later,. call 2 after 45 mins I had a reply. Receptionist offered to give me a number I asked will I get through today? reply "no"I explained the problem then she accused of swearing and cut off. I was frustrated, I never swear but as a cancer sufferer with frustration I did say "I have been trying to find out what is going on and said I have been trying to find out for 2 ruddy days, I still have no answer,

Review titled Outstanding Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I regularly have to attend Poole hospital as a day patient at least twice a year for the last 8 years following a major operation for throat cancer. The overall experience is second to none and I cannot praise them enough all of the staff are thoroughly professional, caring and explain every stage of the procedure. Having been a patient in various hospitals across the country throughout my lifetime I can honestly say they set the standard all the other hospitals should try and attain.

Review titled Amazing people!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rona Louise Lee - Posted on 06 December 2023
Admitted to A&E in a pain that I have before experienced. From the 111 staff, ambulance crew through to the A&E staff the service was exemplary though the waiting time/area leaves a lot to be desired, not a reflection on the very busy staff. Also, some very kind ladies, also awaiting treatment, helped me when I was feeling too ill to help myself. As I suspected I had a kidney stone something I sincerely hope I never experience again. The staff are so busy yet show great empathy for which I am grateful.

Dear Rona Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and apologies for the delay in responding to you. It is great to hear the care and teamwork between staff both internally and more widely with 111 & the ambulance crews was exemplary, but we do appreciate that the emergency departments on the Poole and Bournemouth sites are now showing the signs of age. The major investment going into the new BEACH building on the Bournemouth site will make a huge difference to patients requiring emergency care within our region. It is lovely to hear that staff and other patients showed empathy and gave you the support you needed during your visit. We hope you are now recovered from whatever was causing you pain and if it was kidney stones that you have not had any further trouble from this. Regards Patient Experience Team

Review titled Over 6 Six with a an 8 month old baby and not seen
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 November 2023
My son was brought to A&E under advice from 111. It took over 2 hours to be triaged and over 6 hours waiting and still not seen. It is now 2am in the morning and I told the nurse I was leaving and the wait is unacceptable and my child need to sleep. I was told that social workers would be called on me if I left. Clearly them are understaffed and that Poole NHS trust is not doing anything to elevate the problem. I think this is unacceptable for an 8 month old to be expecting to wait over night in blinding bright wait room. Would not wish for any parent to go though this in an emergency situation

Review titled Couldn't ask for better care for my father
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Clough for Mr R Fisher - Posted on 02 November 2023
Today my father of 92 years was discharged after having Pneumonia from Lilliput Ward. I couldn't fault the care. The nurses were attentive, caring, professional and had a sense of humour. They also kept me informed as I live a distance away. My father who usually finds something to complain about, didn't have a bad word to say about them, in fact he was full of praise. Thank you all for looking after him so well.
