    Everyone was so kind, helpful and caring! It made a huge difference to calm my anxiety about the procedure I was having. Absolutely brilliant team

    I was given an appointment at One Hatfield for 5th June 2024. I arrived with time to spare and signed the paperwork I was given to read and sat in the waiting area as instructed. After waiting for about 45 minutes a lady asked if anyone was supposed to be having an appointment with a certain doctor (who I am not allowed to mention in this review). Eventually I got to speak to the lady who told me that the doctor was not available and was currently not even in the country! I was told that I would be given another appointment hopefully within the next week. I have since phoned the hospital to discuss an email I received saying that another appointment has been made, however, this new appointment, with a different doctor, is 7 weeks after the first appointment and is a telephone appointment not a face to face appointment which I was originally given. Apparently the missing doctor never even worked for One Hatfield and there was a misunderstanding of his start date which he thought was a month later. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very polite but the whole fiasco I was subjected to seems very unprofessional. Apparently the doctors only see a maximum of 3 NHS patients a day as the rest of their time is reserved for private patients, this is why my new appointment is 7 weeks after the initial one which never happened!

The issue was caused by a new consultant to One Hatfield Hospital failing to inform us of a change to his external diary and commitments. We have since followed up with this consultant and have made changes to their practice at One Hatfield Hospital. We have a large number of consultants offering NHS services at our hospital; however, it is up to the individual consultant how many NHS patients they see per clinic. Also i believe that a telephone consultation was offered, as these have better availability compared to face-to-face appointments.     Very nice friendly receptionist Unfortunately the consultant I spoke to didn't really listen to a word I said and seemed abrupt I explained the injury occurred 18 months ago and on the doctors letter it stated a few months ago

    From the initial consultation to having a scan and then having my Varicose Vein surgery, it all happened in great time and all the staff at the hospital were very friendly.

    Very friendly theatre and ward staff .Very efficient throughout.Clean in all departments.Administration efficient both during stay and subsequent visits.

    Reception is spacious and lovely, staff polite and appointment on time. The doctor was good mannered and very professional. He explained all the problems clearly and the best way forward.

    Whole procedure was very professional and clear. Well run and friendly. From reception through to initial consultation and preparation I could not fault the Hospital. When I had the actual procedure , everything was professional and focused. After the procedure,I was quickly taken back to my room and left for a recovery period. I was then given lunch ,which was excellent, before being cleared to leave to be picked up and taken home. All in all the experience was comfortable and pleasant.

    I arrived for my 9:00 Appointment at 8:50 and was checked in and told to take a seat in the waiting area. At 9:35 I still hadn't been seen so I went up to reception to see what the delay was. The receptionist wasn't sure but went off to check. About 10 mins later she returned to tell me they were unable to contact the Doctor and he hadn't arrived yet but if I don't mind waiting a bit longer they would carry on trying him. A little while longer a lady ,who I assumed was the practice manager although she never said, came to see me and informed me that the Dr had in fact left the country. She apologised and said she would try and get me another Dr if she could, but this wasn't possible. I finally left around 10:30 and with the 45min journey each way wasted 3 hours for nothing . They did however make another appointment for 6 weeks later with a different Dr. So I'll wait to see what happens.

    The waiting area was calm which made patients feel relaxed before seeing the consultant. The consultant took time over my problem and I felt reassured. I had a back problem for over 10 years and I had almost given up. Now I see some light at the end of the tunnel. It is also nice to have stress free parking
