  1. Review titled No follow up

I was admitted in March with infected wisdom teeth and lockjaw needing IV antibiotics and strong pain killers for two days, the staff were amazing! I was told I needed all four teeth removed as a matter of urgency but they could not operate until the infection had gone. I had an outpatient appointment on 4th April where it was decided that I also needed a CT scan to see how close a nerve is to my root. I went for a CT scan at Guys hospital on 2nd of June and haven’t heard anything since! This morning I receive a letter in the post saying I failed to attend an appointment therefore have been discharged! I am in agony and have been waiting for some kind of action from the scan, a call, appointment , letter anything! I called to dispute this and the rude woman on the phone at patient access would not listen or give me advice, instead kept repeating that they won’t reopen my referral and I need to get a new one! This was supposed to be an emergency! I can’t eat properly and can barely open my mouth, I am in agony waiting for treatment. Instead I have to start the whole process again, I can not even speak with my GP until 24th Aug at the earliest! My biggest complaint is with how I was made to feel on the phone when I haven’t done anything wrong.

Unfortunately my 3rd visit to A&E in 3 months dues to children’s illness and accidents - every time the staff have been excellent and efficient - waiting time reasonable, shorter than I had expected. They must be under so much pressure it’s always so busy. Cannot thank them enough - even the security staff friendly and helpful - thank you, so lucky to have access to great free healthcare when we need it.

  6. Review titled Visit to A&E at Northwick Park Hospital

    by julywx36 - Posted on 03 February 2023

I visited A&E in Northwick Park yesterday as cancer patient having chemo. At the moment in Charing Cross Hospital. I was seen promptly, bloods taken promptly. all the nurses and doctors were very helpful, caring and paid attention to details. Resolved any concerns, followed up promptly on diagnosis and treatment. Doctors from different departments looked at my condition and diagnosis. I was first seen by Laura, then a student dr. Wanted to have conversation, another dr went through problems in details, at the end Helena stepped in for final conclusion and I was released from hospital with appropriate medication and information. Helena was kind enough to call this morning to enquire how I was doing, this was excellent and reassuring, Helena went through in details of my condition and my understanding and awareness and resolution. Very much appreciated. I was dreading long wait at the A&E which wasn’t the case. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your recent experience at Northwick Parks A&E. I am sorry to read that you had to wait for a long time at A&E. I hope you have recovered from your fall. Patients in the A&E are prioritised by clinical need, but this is not always clear and of course it is affected by how busy the department may be at the time. I am sorry to hear that you weren’t offered any food or drink during your time at A&E either. Please do contact our PALS team on 0208 869 5118 or LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net if you would like us to follow up on your experience anymore. I have passed your feedback onto the team in the meantime. My husband was rushed to A&E in ambulance during his routine health check. The ambulance service looked after him and answered all our concerns until he was taken inside A&E in HDU. We are very grateful for the great care provided to my husband by the lovely gentlemen who looked after my husband in the ambulance to the doctors and nurses who took great care of him. My husband is now being treated as an outpatient in the same hospital. Thank you for everything you do in looking after all the patients.

  10. Review titled No doctor available

Rated 1 star out of 5

I called midwife she suggested to come urgently which I did. After coming there she took sample and asked me to wait because there were no doctors available. I had severe bleeding and I was 34 weeks pregnant . I was very nervous and frightened and it took 5 years and when I asked to receptionist at maternity ward she was so rude . Pathetic service and humanity from staff . I know my one review doesn’t make any difference to them because I want to aware to patient who is planning to go there for their treatment please be aware. No compassion at all

Dear Sir/ Madam, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Hearing our patients experience is very important to our Trust and hearing when we don’t get it right is critical to ensure we can fix our issues. I’m shocked to hear of the experience you had recently within our maternity service. I understand this must of been an extreme situation, where you expect compassion and understanding. I'm sorry this was not the case for yourself. We have shared this feedback with the service to ensure this is looked in to further. I would therefore be grateful if you could get in touch with the PALS team on 0208 9675653 or by email at: LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net to provide more information. Thank you once again, Kind Regards, Emma Calnan – Patient Experience Officer
