  1. Review titled Unfit for animals

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2024

I was admitted to hospital over a week ago and was moved onto Conservators Ward. I reported a blocked toilet to the nurse. I was then informed its been out of action for over a week. However this hasn't stopped ill patients from using it. It's now over flowing with human examen and urine. Surely patients health means something but not on this ward

  2. Review titled Treated like a family member

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 February 2024

I had to go to musgrove hospital as I had a very infected left elbow, ended up having to have surgery. The staff before during and after the surgery were brilliant, they explained everything to me and my family about what the operation and recovery would be. All the staff the nurses, doctors, catering and cleaners, I mean everybody I saw for those 6 days treated me like a member of their family, I was very anxious about being in hospital but everybody made me feel like your in the best of hands. Being in a new house and new hospital and not knowing the place or the staff, I was really impressed by all the friendly/knowledgeable staff. And they all made feel much calmer about the operation. I wish I could remember all the names of the staff who looked after me during the day and night. The staff at night did their almost not to wake me up at night to give me my antibiotics but always ended up having a good chat for a while to distract from the medicine. Can't say a bad word about my experience, other than having to sort the district nurse, which they said they would do, so my daughter had to organise it and was very stressful as my local GP didn't have all the hospital paperwork, so it took a 2-3 days to finally have the nurses to come round and change my dressings twice a week. A big thank you to all the staff, I appreciate all that you did for me during my time with you.

  3. Review titled Really impressed with the service

    by Philip628 - Posted on 05 January 2024

Really impressed with the service I received recently in the Audiology department at Musgrove Park Hospital. The Audiologist I saw was excellent and explained everything really well - he was friendly and knowledgeable and is a credit to the Trust.

  4. Review titled I had an infection and was very poorly

by AdventureArthur - Posted on 15 January 2024

I had to come into hospital twice and the second time I stayed and had to have an IV put in. It felt really scary but my daddy cuddled me and the nurses were great. Afterwards I got to choose a dinosaur and went to my own room on acorn ward.

Dear AdventureArthur Thank you so much for sharing your story, I hope you are feeling better now. I'm so pleased that the nurses took such great care of you and your daddy, hopefully that made it a little less scary. We are really lucky here on the Children's Unit that we get lots of lovely present donations, I'm really glad that you get to take home and look after one of our dinosaurs. Thank you once again for taking to time to send your thanks Kind regards Ang:-)

  5. Review titled a&e great service

by helen kirkham - Posted on 02 December 2023

Just to say, I went into Musgrove for an eye query. I was not convinced it was an emergency but reading up on inflammation of the eye and ulcers that cause blindness - convinced me to go to A&e. I did wait almost 3 hours (for something that might be nothing), but after saying to the receptionist I don’t think the time is warranted for something that might be minimal, she reminded me we only have one set of eyes! The wait turned into 3 hours, but glad I was convinced to stay, and had the most funniest, kindest up-spirited doctor who performed an in-depth eye examination to rule out anything sinister- and also have me antibiotics. I’m glad I stuck by the timings (noting that there was a young baby needing attention, 3 elderly people bleeding and in wheelchairs), well done NHS and thank you for the care. I’ve been in major hospitals in the south west due to a sick daughter - and Musgrove always astounds me out of them all with their caring, pleasant and more importantly efficient staff . Thanks again

  6. Review titled Excellent service

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2023

Went for xray, the date had been changed and I had not received notification. The receptionist sorted it out for me and I was seen as I had expected. The xray department is very well run. Thank you for an excellent service.

  8. Review titled Excellent care/service

by Maria Cave - Posted on 06 December 2023

My dad came into Musgrove yesterday to have x-rays on his hips. He had a hip replacement this year. His appointment was carried efficiently and he left the hospital before his appointment time. My dad doesn't have a computer so he wanted me to do this review to say thank you. He is 82 and very grateful to the NHS.

  9. Review titled You’re all amazing, and we’re very grateful

    by limawq97 - Posted on 04 January 2024

Our daughter was struggling to breathe after vomiting during the night, and was then very upset and unsettled for a number of hours, refusing food and water. We called 111 who put us in touch with the ambulance service, they video called and assessed our daughter over the call, advising us to go to A&E as soon as possible. The staff at Musgrove Hospital were absolutely fantastic in all departments, from A&E to PAU. As initially very worried and scared parents of an infant struggling to breathe, we felt listened to, and cared for, with our daughter receiving compliments on her arrival in PAU, putting us as parents at ease, and again for her cheeky smile after she started to respond to treatment. We are extremely grateful to Emma in PAU for her care, her kindness, her patience and her clear instructions to us so we could continue to help our daughter through the illness she was struggling with, thank you, and all of the staff in your department for all you did for us, and continue to do, you’re all amazing, and we’re very grateful! Thank you!
