  1. Review titled It made me feel like I belonged somewhere

    by frostds36 - Posted on 02 November 2023

The ability to cope under pressure and be able to co-or things. Especially on my two visits to A&E. It made me feel like I belonged somewhere and that I had somewhere to go. A big thank you to all at the Oncology Dept.

  2. Review titled Sensitive care

    by Dog77 - Posted on 22 October 2023

I arrived at the unit with a sensitive problem and was helped immediately. Staff made me feel relaxed and comfortable about my problem even though it caused them more work. I was treated with dignity and empathy which helped me relax. The staff throughout my visit were smiling and caring yet professional at their work.

Rated 1 star out of 5

My dad was given an outpatients appoimtment which he was unable to make. Been trying for the past two days to reschedule the appointment. One one occasion rang solidly for just under an hour, the phone rings then cuts off!. How are we supposed to re-arrange appointmemts when no one answers the phone???

Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies on behalf ULHT for your poor experience when trying to contact us. As the Trust have so many telephone lines I am unfortunately unable to comment further without details of the telephone number you called. Could you kindly provide this? I will then investigate and provide a more comprehensive response. In addition, if you would like to send your dads contact details to myself, or via our PALS team, I can ask the specialty team to telephone him and reschedule his appointment. 4. Review titled I was most impressed

    by elephantnb68 - Posted on 02 November 2023

I went for a visit to the physiotherapist for specialist support. I had waited 8 months for the appointment but as someone who works in the NHS I understood why - the Specialist is the only one specialising in that area of physiotherapy. Difficult to cope with demand in a timely fashion when you are on your own. The specialist was amazing, very supportive, listened and gave advice. I was most impressed and I did not have to wait to long in the dept to be seen.

  5. Review titled A stressful, painful experience

    by venuswz94 - Posted on 27 October 2023

Very stressful, painful at Lincoln Hospital gynecologic DEP. I think instead of keep sending ladies for this vile procedure they should find out the cause of thickened endometrium.I appreciate that they are ruling out cancer as one option, but this is rare and they are not investigating root cause afterwards, in my view. Just leave it until another symptoms appears or you're sent again .No menopause clinic appointment, no follow ups if your on HRT. Not offered pain relief, had 2 with them over the past years, asked to go back again next week on a fast track for a 3rd. Refused, had difficult phone calls and stood my ground firmly but politely not having it.In discussion, asked why is local anaesthetic not offered? Response , they have never done that and they are not starting now! So I replied, so you rather women be in pain and traumatized? Reply, most women tolerate it with no issues My response, do you have the data that proves that? Do you ask? Is it because you have financial incentives to keep mostly in outpatient, minimum time? Cost of anesthetic and qualified staff. No aftercare, just walk out, if you can that is! Without your knees knocking.I also got an infection last time. Had to get Antibiotics from GP. Has a 2 week infection and bleeding, pain, after the last hysteroscopy there.Reply: we can offer general anesthesia. No thanks I appreciate urgency but not going to your hospital again.Refer me to another hospital, goodbye!

by Breastunituser - Posted on 11 September 2023

I got called to the breast screening assessment clinic at Lincoln and everybody that dealt with me was truly amazing and compassionate, even when I had a minor wobble. They put me at ease through all the procedures and explained what was going to happen.

  7. Review titled Emergency gastric bleeding

    by A new Patient's experience - Posted on 09 October 2023

I was aware of internal bleeding, during a visit to the toilet early in the morning. My Wife called the ambulance that arrived within 10 mins. After the crew's assessment, I was taken to Lincoln County Hospital, and admitted, as soon as we arrived. From then on, I was quickly seen by various Doctors/Consultants, and a CT Scan was arranged. I latter had an Endoscopy I was treated with care and respect during every procedure. I had to wait for a free Ward bed until afternoon of the following day, being monitored all the time. I had first hand experience of the bed shortage etc, but felt whatever, I was in a safe place, in safe hands. Shorty after the Endoscopy, I was advised that the procedure had not found anything untoward, and that I was free to return home, and a colonoscopy would be arranged for me at Grantham General Hospital, where I would attend as an Outpatient, the above location is nearer to my Home.

  8. Review titled diabolical parking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2023

want to warn people of the parking at lincoln been taking family member that uses a wheelchair visiting mainly in afternoons they have a blue badge but can never get disabled bay even at weekends. main car park full people driving around looking for a space.Yet 2 disabled bays near A&E now 20mins drop off bays never seen used or vehicle has been ticketed. There is another 20 min drop off bay for meau with disabled bays near ward we where going to, tried asking parking attendent if 20mins applied to blue badge holders but he didn't understand English would just keep pointing at blue badges bays near A&E that where all full. If someone would like reply interested to know. When in ward visiting could see staff car park which always had space and would been lot closer for pushing wheelchair. Believe hospital needs double number disabled bays 50% more normal spaces. Letting blue badges holders use 20min drop off spaces without time limit and staff only areas might be tempory help until permanent solution found. Not having Nhs and contractors vans in main car park would also help.

    Review titled Lincoln County Hospital

    Replied on 26 October 2023

Thank you for your comments regarding the car park facilities at Lincoln County Hospital and I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced. Unfortunately, the Hospital only has a limited number of car park spaces available and the Trust does advise, those that are able, to use alternative modes of travel to access the site. The Trust has committed to the NHS England objective of being Net Carbon Neutral by 2040 and currently, additional car park areas are unlikely to be introduced. There are 26 disabled spaces in the Outpatients car park which is 32% of the available number of spaces, and there is a designated Blue Badge car park adjacent to the Main Reception with 27 spaces. Blue Badge holders are also entitled to park in any visitor space, provided the vehicle is registered with the Hospital for parking, and the Blue Badge is displayed in the windscreen. The new drop-off bays were created to reduce the number of vehicles from illegally parking outside the UTC entrance, where they were causing obstruction and a risk to patient and visitor safety. The 20 minute only drop-off bays are required to ease congestion in all car parks, to allow individuals, who do not require a parking space for a longer length of time to pick up and drop off, thereby freeing up spaces for those that require an extended stay. Please be advised that Blue Badge holders are not exempt from the 20 minute parking regulation, although these can be used as an option to drop off a disabled patient/visitor and allow the motorist further time to look for a disabled/visitor bay. The Trust provides separate parking for staff, many of which work different shift patterns, therefore demand for staff parking spaces will vary throughout the day. Allocating separate staff parking, away from main Hospital entrances, also frees up spaces for patients/visitors. Thank you for your comment regarding contractors parking in the main visitor car park. Please be assured the Trust has specific areas for contractor parking and, following your comments, this will be reinforced by our Capital and Estates teams. 9. Review titled Operation for a broken arm

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Charles - Posted on 26 May 2024

I required surgery and after care for a broken arm. The Orthopaedics team at LCH did a fantastic job at fixing my arm and checking up on me during recovery. They took extra time during the surgery to ensure I had the best outcome possible. 8 months on and I am back to my full self. I'm grateful for the care and attentiveness of my surgeon and the team. 10/10, would get broken arm fixed here again.

  10. Review titled Emergency admission to Lincoln County Hospital

    by Leo1964 - Posted on 11 September 2023

Sent to A&E with referral letter from GP, checked in at A&E at approx 15.45. Triaged and subsequently assessed by Doctors, to be informed at approx 20.30 that admission would be necessary (when a bed becomes available) for treatment and Endoscopic procedure. Spent the whole night, and most of the following day in a less than comfortable chair (alongside many others) until finally being moved onto EAMU at appro 19.00.
