    Any nerves that I might have had were immediately dispelled as soon as I walked through the door. All of the staff that I met were truly professional throughout. Everything that was about to happen was fully explained to me and all question that I had were answered. Pain relief options were fully explained and it was reinforced by being informed on numerous occasions that at any point you could change your mind and that the team would give you other options if at all possible. Not exactly the nicest of procedures, but definitely the nicest of teams. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Made me feel like I was wasting their time

    My GP sent me to the 2ww hospital clinic because I had had x rays and an ultrasound scan on a lipoma which showed that it was bigger than acceptable. Apparently, if they are over a certain size you automatically need to be referred for it to be checked. I wasn't actually asked if I wanted to go, but why wouldn't I? It felt like the hospital doctor was not happy to see me, made me feel like I was wasting their time, they seemed angry that they didn't have access to any records that would show them the details they needed to assess me, as if that was my fault. The doctor asked me my age, not because they were checking whether I had dementia I'm sure, and they would have known my age. They made me feel that someone of my age shouldn't be bothering the service - it was supposed to be a cancer check, for heaven's sake! I endured about 5 minutes of the doctor's wrath, before they said that I would be sent an appointment for a scan and be seen again in 4 weeks. So much for 2ww. Then, I received my appointment for a CT scan 2 days later, only to find that it was for my shoulder and my problem is on my leg! Doesn't inspire confidence.

    I was holiday in Lincoln and had a fall and went A&E I just wanted to thank everyone one who helped and treated me . I was kept well informed and treated efficiently but with great care and on occasions humour Thank you again to all the staff all you did was appreciated in what is even on Sunday morning a busy and demanding department

    After an annual check up at my GP, I was referred to Urology at Lincoln County Hospital. They were thorough and very helpful. Examinations, MRI and Biopsy. They had time for me and my wife and explained things in detail. I am now on Active Surveillance. I can not speak highly enough of the staff and service they give. Thank you all at Lincoln County Hospital.

    I have been referred to this hospital by my electrophysiologist for an urgent cardioversion to try and restore my heart to normal rhythm, having been in persistent Atrial Fibrillation since February this year. It has been months and not only have I not had any correspondence from Lincoln, I have left 3-4 voicemails with various cardiology receptionists and have not had one of those returned. I feel deflated, depressed and in a constant state of anxiety due to this condition which is making me borderline suicidal.

  6. Review titled Follow Up appointment

    I waited almost 2 months after a procedure to just be told what I already knew. My first appointment 6 weeks previously was cancelled. I knew following my procedure I required surgery, however they waited to tell me at my follow up they hadn't sent off the request yet. I also requested if my surgery referral could be referred out to other hospitals within a 2 hour drive to speed up the process to be advise no and I would need to speak with my GP. I have already spoken with my GP about this prior to my appointment to be told I need to ask the department I'm dealing with so I feel like everyone is passing the book. Nobody can give me any time frames for surgery, for what is a straight forward day surgery. Meanwhile whilst I live in pain and discomfort until I've had my op.

    I went to have my numerous brown spots checked out. My appointment was on a Saturday. All the staff that I came across were helpful and courteous. The Doctor I saw was charming and went out of her way to explain things for me. She was most informative and I came away having had a very good experience for which I thank you.

  8. Review titled I was made to feel invisible

    I attended A&E at 3.30 am. I was initially assessed then saw a Dr at 10.30 am. The doctor said they would arrange blood tests and to see a specialist Dr. Whilst waiting in A&E on 2 occasions I felt faint. My partner advised a member of staff. The first time they checked my obs; the second time they did nothing. At around 5 pm I went to the desk to ask what was happening. I was told I was being admitted - the first I had been told of any admission. I was taken to SEAU ward. I was seen by a Dr on the ward that evening and by a team of Drs at around 8.30 am the next morning. They dismissed the tests the Dr suggested the previous evening and said I needed an ultrasound scan. At around 2.30 pm I asked the nurse what was happening as I hadn't been called for a scan. It then transpired the Dr never requested it. The Dr told me the next available slot was 10.10 am the next day. Had the Dr requested it when they should, I would not have to have waited this long. The ward was excessively noisy at night - loud staff, banging beds and furniture when multiple patients were moved to other wards during the night. Alarms on equipment was left sounding excessively. I was moved to Digby ward. The staff assumed I was incapable of independence and I found them rude. The ward was once again noisy, alarms ignored and left to sound for excessive periods. I was awake my entire time on that ward, sat up in bed. Not one staff member asked if I was OK or offered any pain relief, drink etc. I did not like what I heard or how the elderly patients on the ward were being treated. I discharged myself from LCH as I had had enough of being ignored and feeling invisible and not worthy of receiving care. The toilet on SEAU was unclean, bowls of urine left on the floor, bins and sink area. I did not see staff did changing gloves or cleaning equipment when taking obs on SEAU - where is infection control??? I did not see anyone clean the toilet on SEAU during my time there. Floors were mopped but half-heartedly and not thoroughly, in my view. Surfaces only seemed to be cleaned when a resident left the ward.

    I was feeling worried and anxious, but all the staff were so kind and caring.  They explained what was happening and didn't rush.  I felt reassured and well looked after. The surroundings were pleasant and calming.

  10. Review titled A brilliant response for a patient on a challenging journey

    I needed to call the assessment centre at Lincoln as I was feeling wobbly following chemotherapy. Despite it being over the phone, the nurse I spoke with was extremely kind and caring and highly professional. She went through everything and reassured me. Lincolnshire is a huge county and being able to speak to someone who responds in such a way is brilliant for a patient on a challenging journey. I am extremely grateful. My call was a week after my chemo, because I felt wobbly. Huge thanks to the Staff Nurse that answered.
