  1. Review titled Poor communication

    by silverwarefx98 - Posted on 19 October 2022

We were told to arrive at day case for 7:00 am for Lap Coli surgery. The surgeon went off with covid which can't be helped but we finally got to theatre at 15.30. It would have been nice to have been kept fully informed. Told I could have sips of water but thinking I was on the morning list I didn't so had no fluids from 11th through to the morning of 13th as no one gave me water on the ward. There were flowers on the ward in vase which I didn't think was allowed. I was told I was going home. The nurse didn't change my dressings prior to leaving as she said that they should be left for a week then change them with one's she had given me even though the surgeon said to change them. By the time I'd traveled home they were soaked through. Just a bit of time to be listened to would have been nice. A surgeon saw me in morning prior to discharge who I had never seen before said everything went well, uneventful. Then another surgeon saw me and said there was small bile leak to look out for infection and the stone was very large. Hardly uneventful. He was very informative. Some consistency in who actually cared for me instead of staff I never met would have been nice. When I was left last in waiting room even the receptionist had left and no one communicated to say what was going on apart from that I would be seen to.

  2. Review titled Outpatient appointment

    by couragenx87 - Posted on 14 October 2022

I had a phone consultation with Rheumatology. Unfortunately, she hadn't been provided with the scan, but carried on and finished consultation, asked for me to have an x-ray and said she would follow up with all the results. Nice to feel cared for. X-ray department I was in and out of within an hour, they were organised helpful and efficient. Staff were passionate about their jobs and couldn't be more caring.

  3. Review titled Breast cancer diagnosis

by SarahP - Posted on 09 November 2022

I was very stressed about the diagnosis but the team at Lincoln Hospital were very empathetic and positive with the way they explained everything. This enabled me to carry on working up to the date of the surgery. On the day of surgery, all staff were kind and supportive and that made me relax. I couldn’t have asked for better care.

  4. Review titled Kindness and Caring

    by Brirg78 - Posted on 19 October 2022

I came into Endoscopy unit feeling really apprehensive due to a previous experience elsewhere which was not good due to the attitude of the doctor during a painful banding procedure. I did not receive any pain relief or anaesthesia. I couldn’t have been treated better by all the staff in the unit. Kind funny and really caring. During the procedure everything possible was done for my comfort and care. The admin, nurses and clinicians were wonderful and I cannot praise them enough. The service I received was truly excellent throughout and everyone was so kind. All NHS staff have a tough job to do and to maintain a sense of humour is testament to their dedication. Thank you so much for everything all of you. It made such a difference.

  5. Review titled Helpful polite and considerate

by Bozzy - Posted on 12 October 2022

I had a routine LFT on arrival at the hospital the receptionist was very helpful polite and considerate. I was shown to the clinic I was attending and after a few minutes I was called in on time. Everywhere in the hospital looked clean with sanitising stations all about and masks

  6. Review titled My care was truly outstanding

by RJIP - Posted on 18 January 2023

Despite being a nurse I was terrified when I found myself on “the other side” needing chemotherapy for breast cancer. From very first visit to Ingham Suite it was clear that exceptional staff work there. I was put at ease immediately and after completing my 6 sessions of chemotherapy I have nothing but praise and gratitude for every single member of staff I came across, including a student nurse and a volunteer. Everyone was so professional yet caring, kind, and extremely hard working. They all went above and beyond despite being so busy. My care was truly outstanding and I can never thank them all enough.

  7. Review titled Excellent Care

by Eeoyretigger - Posted on 12 September 2022

In early September I was admitted to Greetwell Ward via A & E Lincoln County Hospital with pain in my jaw, gums and struggling to breathe and swallow even pain relief as the swelling was obstructing my wind pipe. I arrived at A&E and I was fast tracked through the system and soon started on pain relief steroids and antibiotics x2 intravenously whilst waiting for a bed which happened in a very quick time of 6 hrs ,I had arrived in the morning and was in a bed on the ward in the afternoon following a CT Scan. Whilst I got zero sleep as I am noise sensitive and aggravated in hospital situations, I commend the support and care given to me by the 24/7 team on Greetwell Ward. There was excellent communication and care from the nursing staff, Junior Doctors and I had quite a few in involved in my care. I would also like to highlight the excellent support and care given especially by the health care support workers and those orderlies serving the food. Their attention to detail and to my needs was impeccable despite the many pressures all staff were under. My only disappointment as a Senior Care Assistant was that junior staff failed to understand the different needs of patients. Especially elderly patients with visual impairments, who found it difficult to use their buzzers and often would not get offered drinks because they were never asked . If I could ask for the Lincoln County Hospital to consider their stance on inclusion and how a person with noise sensitivity could be better supported in this situation.

  9. Review titled Kindness goes such a long way

    by orangeeg75 - Posted on 07 September 2022

My daughter had a eeg under melatonin yesterday at the Safari Day Unit. The staff were incredible kind and compassionate and patient! Made us both feel at ease although the melatonin failed everyone made it a calming experience for my daughter. I truly feel no matter what a persons diagnoses or health problems are they never define a person. I think using that short time to engage personally makes all the difference for any child no matter there health issues. Kindness goes such a long way being educated and open minded in the fact for example one might be non verbal but truly thrives in many other aspects. Addressing each little person or adult as just that, a person engaging no matter what. Really takes those special kind of people to have that passion to work within a health sector in hoping to help and enrich and heal those with health problems if possible. The hospital was clean my daughter loved the “monkey well-being” wall stickers everyone was kind and attentive most of all professional so thank you ulht team

  10. Review titled Not having my problem sorted or investigated at all

    by disinfectantcx64 - Posted on 05 October 2022

A&E staff and staff on Surgical Emergency Admissions Unit (SEAU) were amazing and did their best. My problem is a gynaecology one and although the staff tried to call them they did not answer the phones. I therefore unfortunately I had to be discharged whilst still in a lot of pain and not having my problem sorted or investigated at all. So now I am home still not well and in pain, this is unfair on me and my family as I cannot move out of my bed without being in agony and feeling sick. I feel very let down by the Doctors who should have been there to help me, this is not a new problem so they already know how difficult this issue is for me.
