  1. Review titled Very long wait in A & E

    by Cares33 - Posted on 20 October 2022

I called 111 - a very good service. I use all the time. Paramedics came out. Done all the checks - not happy with symptoms so they took my husband to hospital at 10:30am. Taken of trolley and sat in A& E for 33 hrs - eventually got a bed on ward MEAU. He spent 4 days under the stroke team. He came home then went for another scan He had surgery in early October after 3 cancellations. Had a Carotid Endarterectomy. No problems on ward. just the length of time in A & E. I feel sorry for staff the pressure and problems they have to deal with. I brought medication clothes and food into A&E on the evening because they said they were keeping him in. But he is a diabetic and wasn't getting anything to eat not on his own. It was the same the next day in A & E - supposed to be getting a meal at lunchtime but the nurse had to chase it. I just think it is so sad especially for older people. And then there appear to be time-wasters and people shouting and screaming when there are poorly people in there.

  2. Review titled In good hands for my hysteroscopy

by Clemence - Posted on 30 September 2022

I had to cancel my first appointment, but was contacted and offered another appointment quickly. I was asked if I’d be prepared to travel to LCH for the procedure and agreed. But was a bit nervous about how I’d feel afterwards and the drive home to Boston. When I arrived in clinic I was seen promptly and reassured by the consultant who consented me for the procedure. The staff in clinic were brilliant, very kind, professional and supportive. I felt well cared for and in good hands. Thank you Gynaecology, Lincoln.

  4. Review titled Welcoming and polite staff

    by Lisa1985 - Posted on 30 September 2022

I recently attended the Endoscopy dept of Lincoln County hospital. On arrival reception staff were welcoming and polite. The pre op nurse put my mind at ease and was professional. Throughout the procedure staff were attentive and caring. In the recovery area the nurse was caring and smiley which is what I needed! Really good experience.

  5. Review titled Feeling very let down

    by JaB22 - Posted on 16 September 2022

Feeling very let down. I was admitted to A&E, and they were brilliant. Moved to SAU, and the day staff were very good, the night staff not so good but acceptable. The problem started when I was transferred to Surgical Assessment Ward. The day staff were very good, but after being in the ward overnight with the air con going 24/7, I was stressed and crying. One of the nurses calmed me down, as I was ready to discharge myself. That was the first time anything was explained to me by the nurse, and then the night staff came on and were not interested. Patients were buzzing in, but they would come and put the buzzer off but not come back. I couldn't sleep and asked for a hot drink. It never came, so I went for a walk to find one. When I did, I sat and drank it at the vending machine and fell asleep. 3 hours later I went back to the ward, passed the nurses station, and never got a look. I was feeling better and my wife and daughter convinced me to stay, but it was very stressful and hope the next time will be better.

Dear JaB22 As ward sister I was very disheartened to read your account of your experience on our ward. As a unit we strive to make our patient feel the centre of all we do, it is so important that we keep patients well informed regarding their medical care plan and supported with their care needs. It is essential as a patient you understand your care plan from ward round and are allowed to ask any questions and raise any concerns about the plan with the Dr’s. I would like to apologise that you haven’t received the standard of care expected from my ward team and would like to assure you I have shared your account with the team to ensure we learn from your experience and guarantee no further experiences like this happen to other patients within our care. I would be very happy to answer any further questions if you have any and wish to get in-touch. Kind regards Adele Bogg Ward Sister SEAU

  6. Review titled Upset by sonographer in early pregnancy unit

    by georgy_90 - Posted on 22 September 2022

Everyone at the EPAU was amazing, but when I had my initial scan the sonographer was laughing and making jokes. She then said 'I can't find anything. So go for a wee and we will see what's going on'. That's how she broke it to me that I wasn't 9 weeks pregnant like I thought I was. A little more sympathy would have been nice. Maybe she could have said 'I am ever so sorry but I can't see anything, why don't you empty your bladder and we will have a look a different way and see if we can find out what is happening for you. Are you ok?'. It broke me how rude it felt like she was being, and I will remember 'I can't find anything, go empty your bladder' forever when I found out I had lost the baby we had been trying for for 3 months and the baby my whole family were excited about having. Kindness costs nothing. But everyone else was amazing!

  7. Review titled 23 hours in A&E

    by aurigatf75 - Posted on 30 September 2022

I was bought to Lincoln County Hospital by ambulance. I arrived at 11 pm on Sunday night. Did not see the doctor till 2.45 am on Monday morning. I last saw a doctor at 5.30 on Monday morning. Was just left to sit there until they found a bed for me, which was 9.45 on Monday night. I was totally exhausted, especially as I was in a lot of pain and had waited that long for a bed. I was taken for a scan on Wednesday morning. I was supposed to be nil by mouth, but nobody told me that. Scan was supposed to be at 9 am on Wednesday but it was nearly 11.30 am before someone came for me. I got told at 5 pm on Wednesday night that I was allowed home.

  8. Review titled Poor service

    by Scomm73 - Posted on 23 September 2022

Booked for supposedly emergency operation within 2 weeks, for it to be scheduled 4 weeks later, to arrive 5 mins before time, to then sit in a chair for 5 hours before operation. To then be informed I would have to wait a further 2 weeks for results, which I’m still waiting for results from a CT scan that was done over 4 weeks previous that was supposed to be 2 weeks.
