  1. Review titled Outstanding service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended A&E with abdominal pains, sickness and blood in stools Seen straight away. Issued with anti sickness & placed in a side room Constantly reassured & medics arrived to assess constantly Amazing considering the department was rammed. Staff are under pressure however it definitely didn’t reflect on my care. Admitted to Dean A who also outstanding Well done & Thankyou KGH

  2. Review titled No response

Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited A&E with what turned out to be kidney stones. Was told I'd need a follow up 4 weeks later. Got an appointment through for 5 months later. Tried contacting the relevant departments ect. Can't get through at all. Calls aren't answered, messages aren't replied to and emails aren't replied to. Stuck in limbo in pain and ill health with no treatment.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was referred from Corby Urgent Care. The Emergency Department Team worked tirelessly and efficiently, dealing with a packed waiting room. I cannot fault my treatment and wish to thank them, wholeheartedly, for everything they do.

  5. Review titled Life saving !

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by catherine finnerty - Posted on 19 February 2023

My husband had been experiencing chest pain for a couple of days, he attempted to see a Gp, and as is always the case, couldnt get a response when calling. I dropped him off at A&E on my way to work at 05.30am, by 08.15am he message me to say he had been to the cardiac centre and had a stent inserted following a heart attack! Super efficient service from start to finish. Though the main hospital is very dated and unappealing, the CCU ward is modern and welcoming. All the staff were extremely helpful and appear very knowledgeable. My husband is now on the mend, if i could make any suggestions, it would be to offer patients earplugs overnight, as the constant monitoring of patients heart rate etc leads to no sleep. Additionally, my husband was in a 4 bedded ward, with 2 other men and a lady. This lady needed to use a commode while i was there, and unfortunately, curtains are not sound proof. For the sake of the patients dignity, it would have been a good idea to wheel her into the bathroom next to her bed. On the whole though we was very happy with all aspects of my husbands care whilst in KGH.

  7. Review titled Exemplary practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by K R Hubbard - Posted on 28 January 2023

On the 23rd of January my wife was unfortunate enough to require urgent care under the direction of her doctor. She was cared for in the medical SDEC department. I would like to thank all the staff across two shifts for her excellent treatment and for the care and attention they provided for me too as her partner. It is with this in mind that I consider our NHS.to be amongst the best health care systems. I would also like to offer my support in these troubled times and say that I am fully sympathetic with all their demands.

Once again, when worried about my health, I contacted the wonderful Rheumatology nurses, and once again , they responded quickly, and warmly to help ,advise and pass my concerns on to a GP for further discussion. All in the same 24 hours, they provided comfort and reassurance and a way forward .I can never thank the nurses enough for their diligence ,kindness and responsiveness to my needs.

  9. Review titled Excellent department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JANET ELIZABETH HARPER - Posted on 30 January 2023

The speed with which everything was handled. 1 week from notification of an abnormal bowel screening result to seeing a nurse to discuss a colonoscopy, 1 week to the actual procedure. The professor was pleasant and when carrying out the procedure answered my questions clearly and explained what he was seeing on the screen. My sincere thanks to him, the nurses and reception staff.

  10. Review titled Lack of communication with fertility treatment

    by carinane56 - Posted on 03 February 2023

I tried back in 2020 to get fertility treatments through Kettering General Hospital and was left feeling frustrated and isolated as they insisted on me having a blood test on certain days of my cycle. But due to having very irregular and long periods I could never guess which day to book, by the time I knew it would already be too late as all appointment slots would be gone. So we gave up and went private for treatment, which sadly failed. Now we are back and trying again to get taken seriously by KGH. Luckily we have had an amazing GP who has pulled strings to get us our cycle day 25 blood test as we were once again having the exact same issue with not being able to get booked in. This blood test was back in January, I've still not heard anything back from KGH, even after I emailed and left a voicemail in mid January. I have tried calling multiple times since and am always left with a voicemail, however we are told not to leave more than one voice mail at a time. I feel so frustrated and basically feel as if I have been ignored several times over the years and really not sure what else to do anymore.
