Review titled Ignored and unable to contact
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ryan Conway - Posted on 26 September 2023
I have attempted to contact ENT on numerous occasions over a 2 month period - never with any success. My referral is not being processed and any attempts to get a copy of my referral from the Information Governance team are also unsuccessful. Nobody in ENT ever picks up the phone, nor do they reply to emails, so I don't know how to progress with getting my queries answered. My next port of call is going to be turning up to the department to try and get some answers in person.

I was referred for suspected uterine cancer, and referred again to a non-cancer gynecologist, but after 7 months I'm still waiting for a call

Review titled Poor service - telephone responses
Rated 4 stars out of 5

This is a general beef with all NHS services, but I am currently holding on one hour to get through to appointments. I will then have to call back again today between 3 and 5. When you are waiting for an urgent referral this, in my opinion, is very stressful. ie where is it, is it in the post, am I lost on the system etc., so many things to consider making life more stressful than it need be. Surely some other system of enquiries could be arranged?

Review titled Unanswered Calls
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I've struggled to get through to anyone at the Rheumatology Department, no one takes calls and I've been leaving answerphone messages for weeks. I've just managed to get through to a Secretary who says hopefully someone will get back to me. I have a debilitating joint disease, I really shouldn't have to live on hope to get a repeat prescription!

Review titled Good job!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Robert McInnes - Posted on 10 June 2023
I am an inpatient at St Thomas and requested an appointment with the Dermatology Dept at Guy. This required a transfer by stretcher to Guys. I am unable to walk or stand. Despite this the doctors were able to perform three successful biopsies on with great precision and care. I would particularly thank the doctors for adapting to the unusual situation of dealing with me as an inpatient in what is primarily an outpatient ward.

Review titled Hospital transport
by Fanica8907 - Posted on 31 May 2023
I had an appointment today at Gary's hospital MRI dept. I booked hospital transport, never came to pick me up. Is not the first time is happening. I waited more than two hours watching on the window, nobody call, nobody rang to tell me it's late. I started to panic, stress. I rang the hospital transport no body answered. I stay on the phone more than two hours. I ring the MRI department and I tell them everything what's going on because this MRI was very very important for my cancer. I find this ridiculous. I believe these are very unprofessional people, when I ring to book hospital transport and very very rude.

Review titled It is not possible to make contact with the ENT department.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Nicola Moxham - Posted on 15 May 2023
No one answers the phone and there is no other way of making contact given on the website. Online the Private Guys/Thomas ENT service is heavily promoted with choices about how to contact them and yet these services will be provided by the same doctors. I note too in previous reviews that no one from the hospital appears to monitor or reply to these reviews.

Review titled Great practice and caring attitude
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by paul wheeler - Posted on 07 March 2023
I was diagnosed with a very high PSA in early February. From a rapid referral from my GP to a MRI scan within a week and subsequent biopsy within another another week my treatment at the Urology department at Guys has been superb. Thankfully my final diagnosis has been that I do not have prostrate cancer despite initial symptoms. Yes staff are very busy and sometimes you can wait sometime on the phone. Equally I was phoned back at 9pm on a Friday evening - five hours after the clinic had finished by the duty consultant who provided clear and direct advice about my initial symptoms. The whole experience was a great example of the NHS at its best. Thank you

Review titled Fantastic staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Aimee - Posted on 07 March 2023
I’ve been visiting recently over Jan/Feb/March for several appointments for sedation for some cleaning and fillings on my teeth under sedation. I am extremely nervous at the dentist hence the need to come here. The staff have made the whole experience actually enjoyable. Most of my appointments have mostly been bang on time. My veins are hard to get so they’ve have someone more experienced on hand to get mine every time. The lady’s I’ve had doing the work have just been so lovely, best hospital experience I’ve actually ever had. Visiting this hospital is quite along way from home but Ild visit it time and time again if I needed to.
