Review titled My hospital experience
by Rudhf74 - Posted on 08 December 2023
Am unable to access the given web-site but, I arrived very early for my appointment and, instead of having to wait until the time of my appointment was seen after a very short wait. Once in the consulting/scan room it was all over in a matter of minutes; very efficient service, thank you.

Review titled Far too slow to deal with referrals
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 December 2023
Approached GP in July to have my knee looked at. It is now December. Referred (finally!) to the physio department after many months of inaction - but after 10 days, the Physio Department have not even dealt with my referral. It takes 20 minutes on hold to get through on the phone, only to be told to phone back in a few days. The state of the NHS is truly depressing.

Review titled Guys at Guys!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carole - Posted on 10 December 2023
My consultant, the cancer nurse, the minor ops procedure, everything has been so smooth. Staff have taken the trouble and time to explain everything in a calm, professional manner. Medications are organised and I am continually grateful beyond words to the NHS. Yes, I had to wait to be seen - but that simply meant that other patients were getting the time they needed. Thank you guys at Guys! I think you are dedicated and truly amazing.

They never answer the phone! They sent me appointment for 5th December 2023 by text. I book a days holiday as I have to come up from Margate, then they send me a text the week later stating my appointment is the 4th December. I can't change or find out any information. What a shambles this department is, wasting NHS resorses.

Review titled Superb service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Antony Arthur - Posted on 10 November 2023
From the start of my treatment through to my discharge I cannot fault this service. All the staff that dealt with me from the consultants, anaesthetists, doctors, nurses to the porters, cleaners, caterers everyone did a 1st class job of looking after me, tending to me and caring for me. Everyone had time to talk, smile, laugh, explain and care while all the time maintaining a very professional approach. The care I received was superb. I was admitted with suspected lung cancer the care from the waiting room, consultancy, theatre, recovery, x-Ray, physio and everyone on Dorcas ward was outstanding. Everyone had time to speak, laugh and show friendship and this portrayed in the patients I met - not a bad word from any of them. No I wouldn’t want to go through it again but I can highly recommend everyone involved in the lung cancer department. A very highly trained professional unit, our National Health Service at its very best. Thank you everyone for everything

Review titled Epic problems
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2023
The staff appear to be having difficulties understanding and implementing the new computer system called "Epic". It appears to be hit and miss and this, together with what appeared to be a severe shortage of staff in the cancer centre is leading to extended waiting times. It is unfortunate that the nurses appear to have the added stress of having to chase up test results and medication because somewhere along the line someone hasn't pressed the right button on the new system. I am sure it will eventually sort itself out, but until such time, be prepared to wait much longer than previously. Notices in the Cancer Centre beg our patience but when you are tired and anxious, patience is in short supply! Lots could be done at little cost to make the waiting area for the chemo suites more comfortable and user friendly by way of a couple more comfy sofas perhaps? Especially since the Living Room where previously one could chill out now seems permanently closed. Thank you

Review titled Poor customer service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Eric Ekuban - Posted on 07 November 2023
The doctor who saw me at my first appointment prescribed a medication which is finished, 3 days ago. I went to my GP Practice for a repeat prescription which they could not , because the hospital has not sanctioned it. I came in to Guy's hospital on Friday 3rd Nov, to get clarification on what to do, but the nurse at the desk said she could not assist and that she would put in a request to investigate and someone would contact me. Today is 7th Nov '23 and no correspondence yet. I have been put on hold on my telephone call for over 30 minutes in the morning and another 30 minutes in the afternoon without any success. How can I get help and assistance as a cancer patience from this hospital and as a tax payer?

Review titled Amazing service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jade - Posted on 18 October 2023
Had my wisdom tooth removed here yesterday and have to say it was amazing. I was anxious due to it being in a difficult place but I cannot complement them enough, I do not remember a thing about the tooth removal after being sedated and was dealt with very quickly. Sore today but to be expected.

Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2023
Cannot ever ever get through on the phone to make an appointment. They ignore emails and calls. I have watched them when I have been waiting on reception in the department, and the staff members sit there , just ignoring the ringing phone!, what sort of service is thus, absolutely appalling, either get more staff, or get staff that actually do something. Disgusting!,

Review titled Extensive waiting
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I’ve visited this clinic twice in the past 10 months and both times I waited over 45 minutes. I arrive 5 minutes early to appointment time as requested but it changes nothing. I can see that there are 5 clinicians on shift and only one person waiting after me. Both of us have been waiting the same amount of time. How can a 45 + minute wait be explained? For us that need to work back our hours for work this is not ok.
