Just had 6 days in ward 34, The staff from doctors to everyone else involved were kind, caring, efficient and professional. Could not have asked for, or expected better treatment. Well done Blackpool Victoria and thank you to everyone.

Visited on the 20th Feb 2023 for a colonoscopy. From start to finish the whole process was efficient, professional and caring. All the staff who looked after me were friendly and focused on my well-being. The team conducting the procedure were extremely professional but also very kind. The whole gastroenterology unit should be proud of how they go about their work. Thank you to you all.

My dad was an in-patient recently, on the Acute Medical Unit for a few days then the Oncology Ward for two weeks. He was treated with kindness, courtesy and respect and I cannot praise the staff enough. Family members were also well looked after with hot drinks offered during visiting hours. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were on hand to deal with any questions or concerns despite being extremely busy. Unfortunately my dad passed away soon after being discharged on palliative care but the family will always be grateful for the help and support we received during this difficult time.

On the 23rd January Roger was called into A&E as too much salt in his blood. He was taken to acute medical unit and was in there for a week. The staff looked after him very well and the food was excellent. On the 7th February he was put in Bay 4 on the Cardiac unit. Again the staff looked after him well and food was excellent. Roger would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and doctors on the cardiac unit and ward 37 for everything they have done for him the past 3 weeks.

From the ambulance crew who took me to A and E to the treatment I received, the care from all the staff and the efficiency of all concerned I am extremely grateful. Outstanding.

Admitted with chest pains and stayed for two nights - I have had two previous heart attacks in 2019 and 2021 and also been excellently treated at the Cardiac Centre with two stays of 7 nights on each of those occasions. This time a CT scan was undertaken on this occasion (Jan 2023) and it was explained why this would be done. Also additional medicine was added to my list and explained why. A cardiac nurse phone me when I got home to check on things too. Nursing whilst in hospital was excellent with telemetry and battery changes as necessary with nurses seemingly feeling they have to apologize for waking you up to take blood pressure etc. Cleaning was of a very high standard and food was varied and hot despite the large numbers to be catered for. So, from being admitted through the same day emergency care unit through to discharge I experienced nothing but care, consideration and I believe a high level of expertise through to CT scan and echo cardiogram. The porters who moved you around the hospital were jolly too. My subsequent outpatient appointment had to be cancelled because of the junior doctors' strike and I got a personal phone call from my consultant's secretary in good time. Also the text messaging service used by the hospital is good with alerts about appointments. Despite all the pressures the people working in the hospital must be under I have only good words for them. Thank you.

My sister is currently in cardiac intensive care. Every time we've been in hospital, we've been met with nothing but friendly faces and staff of all grades stopping to help us find the ward, because we keep getting lost! Staff are polite, so friendly and keen to help. Thank you Blackpool Victoria

I was sent a survey the day after treatment, however couldn't find the gastroenterology dept. listed so have resorted to this review as treatment was so good felt compelled to comment. From beginning to end my in patient experience and treatment was never less than excellent. A pleasant and very helpful receptionist, friendly professional admission nurses, caring, friendly and proficient theatre nurses and surgeon. Special mention to the fabulous aftercare nurse who goes over and above in her care of patients. Treated with respect and empathy throughout with everything explained and also patients were actually listened to. This department is a credit to the hospital.

I would just like to thank the receptionist on this department who truly went above and beyond to help my husband who had a urine infection and was in excruciating pain. After making further enquiries with a colleague, the care i received and advice was absolutely brilliant the nurse who was on lunch at the time had no hesitation to assess me. You really are simply the best!

Review titled Awful receptionist early pregnancy unit

I was pregnant and started to bleed around 3/4 weeks. I started light bleeding and worried I called the early pregnancy unit. I was greeted by the rudest receptionist who told me that my pregnancy didn't mean anything as I wasn't 6 weeks, and it's just how life is. I felt like I was an inconvenience to her day. I then found out a few weeks after I was pregnant again, I was told by a midwife to call the epu to be dated correctly. On calling I was greeted with the same receptionist who barley let me talk. After explaining I had been told to call to be dated she told me it was far to early and she doesn't know why these people keep telling me stuff when they are incorrect, she rushed the whole call and didn't tell me help me in the slightest, I'm actually going to ask to be transferred to Preston as I can not fathom how someone in that role can have no compassion. Find a new receptionist!! I've seen other reviews regarding her.
