  1. Review titled Amazing A3

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leanne Sheppard - Posted on 06 April 2023

Ward A3 Firstly what an amazing bunch you all are so caring, friendly, funny made my stay less unbearable, you all know the reason why I say unbearable! on this last visit it was so difficult to be in a bed feeling well but obviously needed the procedure to continue my road to recovery. Having spent a total of 42 days in Addenbrookes not all consecutive however majority of which on A3 I got to know most staff by name & you all treated me as part of the family so to speak such a great bunch you should all be proud of the way you run in such difficult times that the NHS are going through.. also a big thank you to the neuro surgical team & the specialist nurses who saw me through my darker days whilst waiting on my spinal surgery your positive vibes & much needed hugs were appreciated.. Well done much love to you all & thank you again I hope not to see you so soon.. best wishes Leanne

  2. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the vasculitis clinic last week and was pleased beyond belief with the quality and speed of attention that I received. My appointment was at 9.30, I was first seen before I had even had time to sit down, I then had a detailed discussion with the consultant and finally went and had bloods taken. I was out by 10 am. Amazing!

  3. Review titled Thank you!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've just returned from a colonoscopy and wanted to pass on my thanks to all the staff for making a somewhat anxiety inducing and undiginified procedure such a breeze. Their warmth, good humour, and professionalism really put me at ease, from the welcome reception to the nurse who walked me out. The whole department was clean, comfortable, and calm, and it makes me very proud of the NHS.

  4. Review titled Nhs is Dead and Needs to be Burrief

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Olvan De iannello - Posted on 18 March 2023

Just been waiting in children A&E department for more than 5 hours. Although it was not very busy, my 4 year old daughter has not been given a slight attention. I just had to discharge willingly. No more “Thank You Nhs”, No more support for NHS staff’s strikes. Waited for 5 hours for a Pulse, no hope. NHS is truly Dead and Needs to be buried. As a high tax payer, I wonder where my money goes.

  6. Review titled What's happened to Audiology?

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Edward Green - Posted on 28 May 2023

I've been waiting for an appointment for over six months just to get my hearing aid situation reviewed. I went in after three months and when I asked the receptionist what was going on they said, "Oh everybody's leaving", I asked why and got no response. There used to be a full waiting room, but both times I went back lately, there was No-One in there! - What's going on? This is 2023 not 1723 - It's an absolute scandal!. This can't be accidental, something must be driving it.

I attended the clinic 8 yesterday @ 15.00hrs. I was given some unexpected and unwelcome news by one of your Consultants (I was so nervous I omitted to register his name). I was treated with great kindness and understanding and for this I would like to say a very heartfelt Thank you to the Consultant I saw. He took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my many questions. If only we had had Dentists with his degree of understanding when I was growing up. I would also mention the nurse who was in attendance also treated me very kindly and with understanding Thank you.

  8. Review titled Worst experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Holly donaldson - Posted on 03 February 2023

Were treated with disrespect from the get go. Traumatic experience made a million times worse by staff. Had no idea about the mask nor one person to patient rule when entering an and e as we never ever go. Then we were shouted at for breaking rules despite my mother having a potential heart attack in the waiting room. Then we’re met by disgusting security staff who proceeded to show no compassion what so ever. We are a respectful family and would never ever be rude. We were under utter stress and treated with utter disrespect. Cannot believe what we have been through as a result. We also completely understand the pressure the NHS is under, as we have family and friends who work there but manners cost absolutely nothing. The department should be ashamed.

  9. Review titled Appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Jenny Chaplin - Posted on 26 January 2024

In Feb 2023 I was referred to the orthopaedic department as an urgent case, as both hips needed replacing. Eleven months on and there's no sign of an appointment, but there is a serious decline in my mobility. I rang two weeks ago and was told my operation would be in three months. Whether or not I'll still be able to walk is anyone's guess. I was told there were others ahead of me: one person had been waiting 78 weeks. The hospital website states the, but average wait for this operation is 27 weeks. If this is the case, it would seem some have gone on the waiting list long after me, but have managed to be treated. I know the NHS has problems, but months of constant pain, the stress of worrying how long one will be able to walk, and virtually no life outside four walls, rather takes it's toll.

Dear Jenny Chaplin I am very sorry to read of the impact your hip pain is having on your daily life while you have been waiting for your hip replacements. Unfortunately some patients will wait longer than the average waiting time. The orthopaedic teams review their waiting lists regularly, and aim to do the surgery as soon as possible. Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01223 216756 or email cuh.pals@nhs.net so that we can look into your concerns in more detail and respond to you. 10. Review titled Excellently run department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After a very nasty bike accident it was a relief to be taken such good care of by the staff in Accident & Emergency. I was taken very good care of in every way - the porter who wheeled me from place to place made life that bit easier, too, by being friendly and quietly cheerful. I really want to thank the staff. My difficult trip so much easier than it might have been. Your kindness is hugely appreciated. Mary Rose Baugh
