My telephone call with the doctor resulted in a referral to the NHS regarding a large lipoma on my right shoulder

I was contacted within 40 minutes of submitting the online form and offered an appointment the following day. Efficient and convenient for me.

Another great experience. The nurse who dealt with my daughter was very caring and very professional. She put my daughter at ease. Her results were messaged over within the end of day too.

According to the notes at the beginning of the review system I cannot give names or specific details. So I would just like to say that I was highly satisfied with the consultation I had with the GP.

Review titled Awful! No patient care!
Rated 1 star out of 5

If the problem is easy you are fobbed off, lucky if you can actually see a doctor. Advice for a 5 month old who has a number of known allergies, with a disabled parent, has been told to fill out an econsult which cannot be done because of his age (should front of house staff not know this?), told to come into the surgery to fill an consult out by hand (said cannot walk or drive which was ignored and previously been fine to arrange an appointment over the telephone). Told prescriptions will be sent to the pharmacy that do not arrive, child prescriptions lost for specialist formula which was being exclusively taken resulting in distress for everyone having to ration current formula and running around pharmacies trying to find one that had a tin in stock, promises of prescriptions being sent to pharmacy that day which doesn’t happen (for an exclusively prescription formula fed baby), rude receptionists that when you go to the surgeries do not look busy/ having a laugh with each other which has been the experience on a number of occasions, telephone not answered for a long length of time despite being first in the queue (over an hour- were they on a lunch/tea beeak?), complaints never answered, constant medication reviews when should be one a year.

I was satisfied generally with the appointment. However when I returned home and checked the notes from the consultation something had been left that was not discussed with me. Had the observation been highlighted I could have offered an explanation. I think it is important to be transparent with your patient.

Our initial attempt to check in failed to register in the consulting room and this entailed a long wait to be seen by the doctor.

Review titled Incompetence or Mis-management?
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Stuart Hall - Posted on 16 September 2024
I failed to attend an unexpected appointment recently. On visiting the surgery to apologise and to enquire about the reason for the appointment, it transpired that the appointment was to address a condition which I do not have and had been made by a member of the practice staff a week previously. It was apparently intended for someone else. Not only is this a complete waste of everyone's time, and NHS resources, but this person must continue to suffer needlessly from what appears to be a painful condition.
