    Having read other reviews I couldn’t agree more based on my own recent & previous concerns. I have experienced the admin team and call handlers behave inappropriately and aggressively. I was recently treated very disrespectfully and laughed at by admin. I required urgent treatment by a Gp and was instead belittled by a senior admin worker. Who gave me medical advice when they were clearly not medically trained whatsoever. I was not given an appointment. I then got privately treated. I find this very dangerous practise. The admin was very rude & talked over other vulnerable patients & myself. My mental health suffered. I personally would avoid this practise and find more suitable practises with sympathetic receptionists. The staff are reluctant to help. Whether its prescriptions, routine or emergency appointments leading me to now find an alternative practice. I would advise the practice to review the attitude failure & need for retraining of staff that are not medically qualified. Hopefully this will enhance care.

    Dear anonymous patient I'm sorry to have received your review of your recent experience of the practice. I am disappointed that you have not raised this as a formal complaint with us at the practice, and I would encourage you to do so. It would not be acceptable for receptionists and call handlers to behave inappropriately, and that would be investigated immediately if it had beenr reported. Unfortunately it is difficult to identify you or the person(s) you have had contact with at the practice, so please do contact us to raise this incident as a complaint. I would like to assure you that, whilst our admin and reception colleagues are not trained to give medical advice, and it is outside of their remit to do so, they have recieved training in supporting patients to access the most appropraite appointment and help. This can include signposting patients to other supporting services, if a suitable appointment cannot be offered at the practice. Your feedback will be shared with our whole team at our next practice meeting and I'm sure we will all reflect on your comments.     Have been patient at grange for many many years and experienced when it was one of the best in the area the last few years the practice not on its own along with most others in Huddersfield but I am pleased to say on my experience they have improved greatly answer the phone very quickly also reception very friendly and getting to see doctor much better so I am pleased to say great improvement hope this remains

    Have been part of this practice for up to 15 years, out convenience to my Home but more often than not I have to resort to private healthcare as the geanage will give ridiculous wait times. 3 weeks to get a phone call appt, 2 weeks to get an ultrasound, 4 weeks for a blood test. By that time, your tesf results are invalid or you’ve ended up in hospital as I have. Some people at the grange are lovely but some are unnecessarily rude and snappy on the phone. Like out-of-nowhere unprovoked rudeness. Terrible attitude for people who should supposedly care.

    Dear patient I’m sorry to hear about your recent experience of our service. Our waiting time for blood tests are around 7-10 days and we are now able to offer this service at the Grange. Patients no longer need to go to Princess Royal or the hospital run phlebotomy service for a blood test. Unfortunately we have no influence on the waiting time for ultrasound. This is not a service we provide directly and we have to refer into a specialist service. Referrals are processed and sent by our team within 48 hours of our clinician requesting it. I’m sorry to hear your waiting time for an appointment was 3 weeks. This is longer than I’d like, and we are aiming to have all appointments seen within 7-10 days of being requested. It’s disappointing to hear you have encountered rude receptionists. Customer service is certainly something we hold in high regard. To support great customer service at the practice we have, since September this year, started surveying our patients who have called. We ask if the receptionist they spoke to was caring and helpful. Our clinicians work really hard to file results within 24 hours of receiving them. This helps our admin team to inform patients of a new test result within 48 hours of receiving the result, and enables us to follow up quicker.     quickly dealt with, very professional service. I had to wait far too long after my appointment time .I don't hear too well so the practice of calling out names for interview is'nt good.why can't the screen be used.

We try to see our patients on time in the main however, some presentations may require urgent intervention or response and this can cause delays in appointment times. It’s something we will monitor going forward. We absolutely can use the call screen to notify patients when it’s their turn, and that can be accompanied by a polite greeting at the waiting room door.     The receptionist always try to facilitate your request and at times go above and beyond, my last GP appointment was disappointing as I had to wait nearly an hour after my appointment time to be seen baring in mind I should have been at work, also over the phone appointments don’t run effectively I had a recent appointment booked between 10am and 11am ensured I was out of class to receive the phone call unfortunately the call came at 11.10 I had left the room to deal with my class and missed the call I appreciate staff are extremely busy but unfortunately so am I I missed the call and had to rearrange appointments really need to be as on time as possible

This might occur if the clinician has urgent, emergency or complex appointments in clinic before your appointment. I'm pleased to hear our receptionists have been helpful for you. Our clinicians will always try to call you twice and will try to call during the time frame you specify. Our new online consultation service (available via our practice website) might help for any non-urgent requests/queries, and will allow our clinicians to email/SMS respond to you.     I recently moved to the area and needed to register with a new GP. I’m glad I was able to register with the Grange Group Practice. Right away the staff were very helpful and friendly. I am very happy with the care I have received.
