Some days you can get appointments on the day and other times you have to ring the next day to even get an appointment and it’s not guaranteed. This time it was regarding my child and both times she was seen pretty quickly so I appreciate that.

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and 4-star rating. Appointment access is always a challenge but we regularly review our offering, and always prioritise the youngest and eldest patients as these are the most vulnerable. Your comments will be shared with our whole team at our next meeting and I hope you will leave regular feedback to let us know how we’re doing. Kind regards DS

  2. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Really please with the service received recently. Got an appointment quickly and they addressed my concerns. My appointment ran on time and the area wasn't over crowded like it used to be. Love the E consult makes things so much easier and they are aware of your needs/concerns ahead of your appointment and you can upload photos or anything else you need to upload.

Dear Dayna Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback and a 5-star review. I'm pleased to hear your positive comments about the eConsult online consultation tool available via our website. Whilst this is not the only method of requesting an appointment, I'm glad you see where it can be beneficial in providing lots of information about your problem as well as photos. It's great to hear your appointment ran on time - our clinicians try their best to keep to time and do occasionally run late due to emergencies or complex cases. I hope you will continue to leave regular reviews to let us know how we're doing, or if you have any suggestions on how we can improve. Kind regards DS

  3. Review titled Better practice

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I first tried to do e consult (i find this hard and the questions confusing and it's very impersonal) which took 20 minutes only for it to tell me to contact the practice on doing so it was answered quickly by a lovely lady who listened to my systems and made an appointment for someone to contact me in the afternoon which they did and that lady was lovely too very understanding. I try to avoid going to the doctors at all costs but when I do need to go of late I find all the people really helpful I have been with the practice for years and find that of late it does seem a better accessible friendlier experience.

Dear patient Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. EConsult and online consultation tools were introduced during the pandemic to enhance access to the practice. They do allow patients to provide a lot of useful information for our clinicians in advance of the appointment, however they are not mandatory. I’m delighted to hear that you were impressed with each of my colleagues who assisted you through your contacts with the practice. Your feedback will be shared with our whole team. Please leave regular reviews to let us know how we’re doing. Kind regards DS

  4. Review titled Good Practice

I have been lucky enough to not had a problem with this practice, I usually get a phone appointment if needed which can be turned into a face to face if necessary, yea there are delays in answering the phone and getting appointments but that is the case everywhere, the staff are always friendly and helpful, the GPs and Nurse Practitioners are always very professional and always provide advice and guidance about concerns. Just one bit of feedback would be to take note of comments in the Econsult forms, I ask to be called between particular times due to work commitments but get called outside of that time, I appreciate they have to prioritise calls but if I am called twice outside of the time window I am able to take calls and I cannot answer my call it means I have to resubmit my econsult which is a pain.

Dear patient Thank you for your review. I'm pleased you are happy with the service we provide and find our whole team to be helpful. We are working hard on telephone access and are regularly achieving an average call waiting time of less than 3 minutes. We share our telephone call stats on our twitter page @GrangeMedical. Thank you for your constructive feedback about call back times as requested on eConsults. This has been passed to our team for learning and I hope this will improve going forward. Kind regards DS

Information left at reception doesn’t seem to get through to relevant people. Blood pressure readings left on a couple of occasions have had to be chased up by Practice Nurse.

  6. Review titled Too bust, can never get a appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 December 2022

The practice is far too busy, I popped in just to drop off a stool sample and enquire about a blood test form. I was queueing for nearly 20 minutes then asked to discuss why I needed the form infront if all the other patients. I went back the following day to collect the form and again the queue was horrendous with one receptionist dealing with one lady fir well over 10 minutes. You can never get an appointment and the phone lines are always 8 or more in the queue

Dear patient Sorry to hear about your recent experience of coming to reception. The practice can be busy, and we try to ensure we have two receptionists at all times - one to deal with more complex queries so the queue can continue to be served by the other. Unfortunately sickness absence can affect our ability to staff the reception with two colleagues, and this can affect our level of service and experience. I'm sorry to hear you have had difficulty getting through on the telephones. I hope you are assured to know there are always around 6 people answering the calls at any given time, so waiting times shouldnt be too long. In fact, we're regularly answering calls in an average of less than 3 minutes - which many patients commend. We're also aiming to answer 95% of calls first time and we share our telephone call performance on our website and on twitter. I will share your comments with the whole team at our next practice meeting and I'm sure we will explore solutions to the issues you have raised. I hope you will leave regular feedback to let us know how we're doing in future. Kind regards DS

I had emailed the pratice about multiple health issues i was experiencing and they had sent me an appointment through for an appointment with a female gp the following friday.Thursday evening i recieved a call it was from the gp that i would of had an appointment with on the friday. The gp apologised for ringing in the evening before explaining she herself had an appointment at the hospital on the friday so would of had to cancel. I was extremely grateful for this and the thought the gp had towards her patients

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was made an appointment they contacted me earlier on that day to say can I come to the surgery earlier to be seen. That's what I did to be then sat there a hour and 15minutes before been seen so they was no reason to go to the gp surgery earlier than the appointment time. Upon that the gp told me they was low on amoxicillin so asked me if I would be prepared to break up capsules and put it on toast for my 3year old. Very unprofessional I wasn't happy he then proscribed erythromycin

Dear patient I'm sorry to have received your review and feedback about your recent experience. We try hard to see all patients on time. It isnt uncommon for urgent cases to present and whilst we have the best intentions to see patients as soon as possible, these urgent cases can lead to delays for waiting patients. I feel a 1 hour and 15 minute wait to see the GP is unacceptable and I'm sorry for this. Perhaps you were not made aware of the current shortage of antibiotics, specifically amoxicillin, and this might have led to the GPs advice on how to take the items available to you. You are welcome to book in for another consultation, should your condition not get any better after taking your prescription. Your review will be shared with our whole team and I hope we can reflect on this. Please leave regular reviews to let us know how we're doing in future. Kind regards DS

I was very pleased with the polite, friendly and efficient way I was dealt with. Follow up was made upon the realisation of an abnormal blood pressure reading. It makes me feel safe and secure in their hands as their interest in my health matches mine.
