    I received phone call from surgery regarding review my blood pressure drugs ( my midwife asked surgery to do this about two weeks before)I have been asked to visit surgery two days after phone call. Doctor was rude, told me that is wasting time to come just to check blood pressure as I can do this at home. I was feeling not comfortable.

    Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I'm sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with how your request was handled this time. I would encourage you to always ask to speak to a senior member of the reception/admin team if you experience problems with appointments. We will be happy to investigate what has caused the problem and escalate this as a complaint on your behalf where appropriate. I'm sorry you felt the clinician was rude or blunt. I am sure this was not the intention. However, please be advised we have a large team of health care assistants, as well as a self-service blood pressure machine in our reception, and this is the most appropriate way to check blood pressure (if you do not have access to a home blood pressure monitor).     Considering this practice is still using E consult forms and not seeing people unless absolutely necessary, the wait times are long and some DRs are forcing people and children to wear masks, which is fine however if people choose not to wear one, they should not be refused to be seen.

Many of our patients are being seen face to face if they prefer and also where this is clinically necessary. Some patients do prefer a telephone or video consultation, so the practice is keen to offer choice. I would be keen to hear more about your experience and would appreciate you contacting the practice to provide more information so that this matter can be looked into and a full response provided to you.     Mum knows when she gets a UTI, but it was over Christmas, so took a sample in to the practice when it opened. Received a phone call and message 2 hours later to collect medication from the pharmacy. Great service..

    I went to the doctors with my 9 year son and the way the doctor was with him was great. Explained everything to him like he would an adult and helped him by telling him what he needs to do to help the problem. Was seen on time and out quickly after solving the problem.

    I completed an e consult.. and recieved a call the same day to inform me they have no capacity to see me and for me to go to walk in centre or ring out of hours... I went to the walk in centre the same evening only to be told it was a 6 hour wait and that was not guaranteed...I walked away and tried 111..was on hold for almost an hr.. rang the surgery again the nect day... was just told to carry on trying 111 they will eventually answer ... this got me so frustrated.. I walked in the surgery first thing in morning to request an urgent appointment once again to be told there's no appts... instead she started typing away and then says I've referred u to asda pharmacy.. pharmacist rang me in the evening and the first thing she said was why have they referred you to us.. your symptoms are a red flag .. she asked me leave it with her and will get back to me ...10 mins later she rang to say she rang ooh but they have advised I need to ring myself.. and then she rang the gp surgery only to be told that I need to call myself for an appt. I rang the surgery.. call got answered... receptionist asked for my symptoms... I was like my details should be on the system... and she was oh yes I can see them.. let's get u booked in to an appt... an appt got booked ( why on earth after all that stress they caused me could they just not offer me an appointment when I originally got in touch!!!!) It's beyond beleive .. I shall be looking to move GP in the New Year...

    Dear patient I’m sorry to hear about your experience of the practice and wider health care service. I can understand how frustrating this must have been for you and it’s not what I’d expect from our service. Unfortunately appointments in any health care service (even walk-in services) are being stretched beyond capacity and all services are trying to provide the best possible service. I would be most interested in finding out more about who you spoke to at the surgery and when. I will be happy to retrieve call recordings and feedback to the people you have spoken with at each contact point. That will help me understand if/why the care navigator colleague had signposted you for a same day consultation in a community pharmacy. These appointments are often beneficial for patients who need a same day appointment, but there are specific criteria for referrals. Please can you email this to our grange.admin@nhs.net email address and provide the number you called from and the date and rough time, so I can retrieve the calls and investigate the matter further. I hope you will allow us to look into the matter before moving away from the surgery. Nevertheless, your review will be shared with our whole team at the next practice meeting and we will try to reflect on this - but would need more specific info to agree specific learning points or feedback to the colleagues you contacted.
