Dear patient I am sorry you have experienced difficulty accessing a face to face appointment in February 2023. I am disappointed at receiving this review. Please be assured that we have continued to offer a mix of face to face and telephone appointments - subject to patient preference. You are absolutely able to ask for a face to a face appointment and we will be happy to book the same. If you ever experience issues booking an appointment, please ask to speak to a senior member of the team, or request a call back to discuss your needs further. I hope the info above will be helpful, and will support you in getting better access to the practice so you can leave more positive reviews in future. Kind regards DS

  4. Review titled Mask mayhem.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The lady who saw me was kind and listened to my concerns. She didn't rush me, she was considerate of my feelings and even arranged for me to have another face to face appointment with her again. The only thing that really put me on edge was the lack of mask wearing enforcement. Patients like me who are incredibly vulnerable are forced to sit in a waiting room with others who flout the mask rule despite the signs, openly coughing and sneezing and not making any attempt to catch it. I spoke to several patients who are listed there and they say the same.

Dear patient Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I’m delighted to hear about the caring contact you had with our clinician and the ease of access for a follow up face to face. You are quite right about the responsible approach to mask wearing when visiting the practice and we encourage all visitors to the surgery to wear a mask, especially in communal areas like the waiting room. Your feedback will be shared with our whole team at our next practice meeting. Kind regards DS

  5. Review titled Poor service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Karen Murray - Posted on 15 August 2023

Didn't feel like I was being taken seriously yet I very rarely attend drs unless I know there's something wrong. Had to chase up myself after through HRI to see where my referral was only to be told there wasn't one ! Seen a second Dr in July and had to chase up my own appointment through HRI again to be told it had been referred as routine instead of urgent. After more phone calls I'm hopeful now something will be sorted. Feel like it's a self service affair

Dear Karen Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience of the Practice. I'm sorry you feel you have been left to chase up appointments and for any confusion about your referral. Although we do ask our patients to take some responsibility for their own health care and treatment, this should certainly feel more supportive for you. Please do contact the team if you would like to discuss this further. Kind regards DS

  6. Review titled Not good enough

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2024

I have been ill for six weeks. I tried to book an appt twice during these 6 weeks. On week 4 when my cough was persistent but now making me sick. As a result I was up a few times at night. It impacted my work, I took time off. Upon completion of patches I was told I'd receive a phone call. Like that would show my dark circles, temperature, and how run down it's making me. I was advised to continue taking paracetamol for temperature and cough syrup or strepsils. I was on my 8th packet of Strepsils and 4th cough syrup. I'd tried everything for my headaches from cold compress to vicks. But I said ok I'll keep doing what I'm doing. On week 5 I made contact through patches again making the practise aware that the cough has gotten worse, I'm being sick nothing from my stomach all from my chest. The wretching is making me ache I've got the worst headaches. I heard back from a GP via text. I replied back straight away but didn't hear back until the next day x2. On the third day I was sent an appt to see a gp on what would be the back end of week 7. To conclude I can say I'm not far off when I say the practice could have done better. I've been to see another gp at another practice after calling out of hours. I was checked over and given anti viral medication along with an inhaler for my coughing episodes that result with me being sick and struggling to carch a breath.

Dear patient I am sorry to hear about your ongoing illness and your difficulties accessing an appointment. It sounds like you had been trying hard to manage your symptoms yourself and I'm sorry we were not able to provide the care you expected on this occasion. Please will you call the surgery to provide more information about this incident. I would be really interested to investigate the case formally as a concern, and this will enable me to recommend improvements or learning outcomes. Kind regards DS

  7. Review titled You’ll never see a GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2023

Honestly by far one of the worse cases of GP’s and medical staff using the chaos created by COVID to benefit them in registering as many patients as they can and in actuality seeing no one. Be prepared, as getting stuck in a queue for an hour from 08:30 (opening times) till after 9:30 (meeting booking up time) is general practice. When your call is answered you will be told to call back at 08:30 as they have no more appointments left. And this is how it will go till you recover from what ales you or you don’t (either way, it stops you calling) Oh you’ll ask questions like: can I have one for tomorrow? A week from now? I’ve been calling to get an appointment for 4 days, how do I fix this? But you’ll be reminded that they’re too busy and it is how it is, basically a variation of lovely ways to say no. Leaving me to believe they may have no GP and all staff are doing is diverting you to nurse practitioners who call and refer you to the hospital or back to a GP or a practice manager who you never hear from. I may be wrong but it’s the perception that’s been created. I see on here you’re taking on new patience thought I’d enlighten them, one would assume the problems been fixed for their sake but I highly doubt it

Dear patient I was really disappointed to receive your damning review and feedback and unfortunately I do question the accuracy and validity of some of your claims. We have been working hard on telephone access and are answering calls on average within 1 minute. We have frequently answered 95% of calls first time, so our patients have reported they have been able to get through to us easier than 12 months ago. We no longer ask patients to "call back tomorrow" and this ceased at the begining of the pandemic, as we embraced and implemented online consultation tools. I would strongly encourage you to call or email us and provide some more information about your recent experiences. We would require your name, date of birth, and some mor details about the time and telephone number you called us from. I will share this feedback with our wider team and I'm sure they will be disappointed to hear about your experience and perception. Kind regards DS Practice Manager

  8. Review titled Responsive service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 March 2023

I have used both eConsult and Patchs online services to access support. The practice has responded both times. The Patchs service has fixed questions rather than adapting to different situations, but I found that the information that I put down was read and understood. I was contacted quickly and I felt supported.

Dear patient Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It’s nice to hear you have used the new online consultation tool. We’ve introduced this as another access route into the practice and it’s great to hear you were dealt with quickly after submitting the patchs request. We encourage our patients to embrace digital technology where they are able to. Your feedback will be shared with our whole team at our next practice meeting. Kind regards DS

I have been very pleased with the service in my recent experience with the practice. In the past few weeks they have been quick to answer the phone, within a minute or two. They answered my query and arranged a blood test at the practice. It was all very efficient and the staff were helpful.
