Had to go 3 times to get a repeat prescription but each time they wrote the wrong amount down meaning I had to go in multiple times to fix the issue

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and 4/5 rating. I appreciate it's not ideal that you had to contact us several times to receive the correct prescription. I would be more than happy to investigate the matter, but require you to call us and provide more information as I am unable to identify you from this review. Kind regards DS

  4. Review titled Pharmacy to the Rescue

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Maria Lewis - Posted on 23 May 2023

I was asked to book an appointment for a blood pressure test or attend the surgery where I could use a BP machine in the waiting area. On arrival I was told the machine was broken. I then had to ask what else I could do. I was told the pharmacy next door would do it. The pharmacy were helpful & prompt & gave me the reading to take back to the surgery. The receptionist took the sheet & dismissed me. I had to ask if she knew who I was as there were no details, other than the BP reading, on the sheet. I gave her my name & my records were updated thanks to my own vigilance. The experience was disappointing. A broken machine & a pharmacist having to provide yet another service previously provided by primary care.

Dear Maria Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Unfortunately our self-service blood pressure machine is awaiting repair. I'm sorry to hear that you had to prompt our receptionist to add your details to the blood pressure paperwork. I will pass on this feedback to our reception team so this type of thing does not happen again. Please be aware that the wider NHS frequently reviews services and works to ensure access is optimised. This does increase patient access, but can mean the services are not provided in traditional GP settings. This helps to ensure appointments in GP surgeries are optimised for those who really need them and, for things like blood pressure checks, these can be done quite competently and without appointment in local pharmacies. Please be assured the Practice is still offering blood pressure checks. Kind regards DS

  6. Review titled No answer

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by PeterD - Posted on 23 May 2023

Contacted the practice recently for advice regarding a swollen ring finger. Sent photographs and requested contact for advice. No response whatsoever. Eventually went to HRI A&E where the rings were cut off. Second time I’ve requested advice and not been contacted. Disappointing to say the least.

  10. Review titled Mixed feelings

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Tony Tansey - Posted on 02 May 2023

My recent experience with the pharmacist was as I would have wanted however other aspects I am not happy with. E-consult system is not suitable for simple ailments and requests. The practice (and I appreciate it is not on its own) relies too much on patients having access to technology. A lot of people require a personal touch not the touch of a keyboard when requiring help. Not all comlaints are mentally related but the added interface of technology can result in a simple physical ailment being very stressful for (I admit to a certain presumption) a lot of patients. We are frequently advised to avoid stressful situations and that everyone is an individual with different needs. I personally believe that the way the practice is developing is not recognising this. In most cases it is the personal touch that patients require not technology.

Dear Tony Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and let us know about your recent experience of the Practice. You are quite right - using digital technology does not suit everyone. However, it is intended to be an additional route of access for patients, and one that will ensure tradtional routes carry less traffic into Practice. I hope you will be happy to hear we no longer use eConsult, but a more interactive tool called Patchs (Available via our website). It essentially gives you a direct (digital) line of communication with our appointment and triage team. I have asked a member of our team to call you and discuss this further with you and I hope we can help support you with any issues. Kind regards DS
