  1. Review titled Poor communication.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Mike Oldridge - Posted on 22 August 2023

When requesting a routine repeat prescription for Atorvastatin which I had been taking for many months, the pharmacist decided not to issue the prescription and absolutely no reference was made back to me of this denial of service. I was running out and only by chasing up did I manage to get the prescription in time.

  2. Review titled Need real appointments not online ‘services’

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 August 2023

Booked an appointment through Patches online. Had several messages - some via patches, some via text and some email. All very confusing and now I’m non-the-wiser if my medication review has or hasn’t been done. One message states that it ‘should’ be checked by a pharmacist and it ‘should’ be ok to reorder. A 5 minute phone call would have been quicker, easier and would remove any confusion.

Dear patient Thanks for letting us know how you feel about the service. Patchs is a great way to contact the practice digitally and is ideal for quick advice and arranging appointments. I'm sorry the communication was not clear enough on this occasion and that you were confused about your medication review and request. Medication reviews can be conducted without speaking to the patient, but I would expect the patient is informed of the outcome and if a medication was issued. I will pass on this feedback to our in-house Pharmacy team and Patchs team. Kind regards DS

  3. Review titled Good support apart from phone appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 August 2023

I am very happy with the responses to my requests for appointments. I understand that phone appointment times will be affected by urgent cases, but feel a text to let one know of the delay and likely time for the appointment would be helpful. We are asked to be punctual in person and to be ready by our phone for calls. It would be respectful to be advised of delay. For example today I had a rime of 11.30 am and still eait for the call 11/2 hours later.

Generally no complaints relating to the service the practice provides. It is now much easier to make contact than was previously the case. I have no further comments to add.

  8. Review titled My opinion

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 August 2023

At the end of April 2023 I got an appointment with a nurse practitioner regarding an abscess on my shoulder (I have had one previously). She made me feel like I'd wasted her time, she spoke down to me rather than to me, told me if it got worse to go to A&E, I walked out in tears. However she referred me to consultant, I awaited an appointment. I received a letter with a telephone appointment for the 14th August. On the 30th July my lump was sore, red and I knew it was infected so off to A&E at 2pm I went, I was in theatre around 12.30am (I cancelled the telephone appt, due to not needing it anymore)home at 9am to go Gp on Monday for dressing changed. I have been everyday since including going to Walk-in centre on a weekend. My wound is healing well, cleaned, packed and redressed everyday. Nurses have been great. I did receive another letter for a telephone appointment with the consultant on 21st at 11.15am in which no-one has rung me today is 22nd (nurse told me to keep it). Overall I'm happy with treatment.

Dear patient Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and 4-star rating. It's reassuring to hear that you are overall happy with the service and I'm sorry to hear about how the nurse practitioner had made you feel at your appointment. Some problems are not best suited to General Practice (GP) and do require Accident and Emergency treatment, and I wonder if that was the case in this instance. Ideally I would like this to be better signposted from reception rather than wasting patient time coming to the surgery simply to be signposted to A&E. Kind regards DS

  9. Review titled Poor staff training

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gerald keyes - Posted on 30 August 2023

Rang on Friday Aug 25 to request an sr1 form and was told the request would be passed on and I would be contacted. As I'd not heard anything I rang up on Tues evening 29 Aug and the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about and I had to explain what an sr1 form was. After consulting someone I was told the dept of works and pensions had been emailed but why I have no idea. I explained I needed the form to prove my condition to conclude certain affairs. After further consulting someone I was told I would hear something within a week. I asked if this meant I'd receive the form in a week and was simply told I'd hear something whatever that means. Just as I wanted everything to run smooth and easy I find myself very stressed and still no wiser about getting an sr1 form. A shocking experience.
