Can’t get to see a doctor without a prior “telephone consultation”. This in itself should not be a problem except the earliest appointment was 12 days hence. Unbelievable!!! My previous appointment was very similar. The doctor who called me for my telephone appointment, after hearing my symptoms said, “oh, you had better come and see me. The appointment was the following day. So why did I have to wait a week to be told what was blatently obvious a week earlier.

Dear Mr Williamson Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. After reviewing your notes, I am confused as you called on a Friday afternoon, was given an appointment for the following Monday with a specialist clinician and also a "non-urgent" telephone call appointment for the following Monday with someone else, which I am told by our Care Navigator, you were very happy with? We offer on the day urgent appointments everyday Mon - Fri and, if you contact the practice after 2pm Mon - Fri, we can book non urgent future bookings for you (I think your call was around 3pm or sometime after) If you feel your problem has become urgent, please contact the practice in the morning and my team will arrange for you to be seen on the day. This appointment may not be with the doctor you prefer however this should not be an issue if you want to see someone urgently, I'm sure. Thank you for reaching out to us on this forum and allowing us to respond, hopefully if someone were to read your review, and our response, they would understand how to obtain an urgent appointment or arrange a non-urgent future booking. Arranged tel call with Dr for a Tuesday.After discussions it was decided I needed to see a Dr so an appointment was made for the following day.This meeting was very productive with a prescription to help me in short term whilst waiting for a scan to be arranged. This I am now waiting for but very happy with professional meetings with everyone from the Dow surgery

I phoned for an emergency appointment with a doctor at the Dow surgery I was at the surgery within 2 hours, the receptionist was very polite. After a 10 minutes wait, I had a thorough examination the doctor was also friendly and informative answering all my questions (I always do ask a lot of questions about my health) and of course very professional. I Picked up new medication on the way home. So all in all I was very pleased with the service.

Rarely attend the Surgery so was apprehensive when I had to call the practice just before Easter for an emergency appointment, I was seen the same day and provided with medication. Very helpful arranging the appointment and fantastic service when seeing the Doctor. Everything was done promptly. I’m extremely grateful for the service provided as otherwise I would have spent Easter in extreme pain or worse having to attend A&E

I have a cyst which is growing massively on the back of my head, i have lost hair and have a bald patch and have been onto the Dow Surgery about this for over a year. They finally put me on the list to have minor surgery so i can have it removed finally as its effecting me sleeping now as i cant put pressure on it. Just for them to give my appointment when it finally come up after 6 months to someone else, because i didn't answer my phone because im at work! They didn't even try to ring 2 or 3 times just once and then you loose your chance! I find this so unfair and its really angered me as i phoned back within minutes of missing the phone call. So now im back to waiting for who knows how long while my cyst just gets worse and worse and effects my life. I hope someone from the surgery reads this and does something about how they deal with giving urgent appointments out

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. After reviewing your experience with the relevant staff we have now changed how we book minor surgery appointments. Patients will now receive a booking link, if the link is not used in 72hrs, the link will be sent to the next patient on the list. Patients who do not use the link will be contacted to check they still require their appointment and to confirm that their contact details have not changed. This was an extremely useful "review" to receive, thank you for bringing it to our attention and allowing us to improve this part of our service. Kind regards Kim Simpson Practice Manager

Dear Lynne Thank you for reviewing your original rating, comments and reposting. It's extremely helpful for us to be able to look into issues and try to resolve them. There are times when these issues are due to the additional software we use/are provided with therefore feedback and the opportunity to investigate helps us and other patients understand where things went wrong. Following your review and subsequent email we have had a group training session within our Admin Team to try to put back up processes in place and reported your comments to the provider so they can investigate any faults in their system. Filled in an online medical form re information on medication matters.but nothing after 4 days waiting.this happened to me before as well few months ago when I never had a reply, is something wrong with this system? Why direct people to use this service when clearly it’s not working.
