  1. Review titled Generally poor and unresponsive

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The nurse was prompt and efficient in checking general health, vaccinations etc. More generally I struggle to get appointments and even regular medication is now no longer provided unless I chase. The staff are seemingly unable to explain why obtaining the most basic of services from a GP are made so hard.

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass on your positive comments regarding our nurse to her as it is always nice to receive. For the last year 2023-2024 we have undergone a change in repeat prescriptions requesting. If the medication taken requires regular blood tests or any update they have been removed so the patient will receive a call when request are in to explain this and the rationale for why. I hope this explains some of your concerns. We are addressing once again our telephony system. Hopefully, we can improve this service.

Cannot understand why it is so difficult to get a blood test. I appreciate that the hospital which performed my thyroidectomy over 1 month ago has not sent my discharge letter, but I have supplied my patient discharge letter and am now requesting a blood test to check my T levels and am told it is not possible until I have had a conversation with my GP. This would, infact, be welcome at this point, as since early November when I had an urgent referral from the out of hours GP I was sent to because I could not get an appointment with my GP, and following my surgery, which my GP was informed of and the subsequent 5 weeks recovery I have yet to have any conversations with my GP at all. Am waiting, in hopeful anticipation, of some sort of contact.

I am very sorry to hear this and would like to discuss with you. When it is anonymous and important it is very worrying. Please accept my apologies and perhaps try to call and ask to speak to me? Regards, Practice manager

  3. Review titled Could be better

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Some of the reception staff and super friendly and helpful but there is a disconnect on Comms/rules as I’ve been two occasions this year and been turned away for booked services once I arrive in front of the nurse to receive them (ie - immunisations ). Nurse very knowledgeable The person doing health checks & ECG - very efficient and professional. The health check for 40 year olds itself felt more like information gathering than helping to support and inform about health - ie. Bloods done and blood sugar but no one to explain results and how you can help yourself unless something is already wrong with you. Mostly impossible to get an appointment by phone and mixed information about the online and in person booking rules and process. Most recent doctor experience was efficient but to the point of rushing you along. Was also given incorrect information by him on access to outreach services available and almost paid to go private for something I didn’t need to. I was asked to share images via the online system without any empathy or thought about that being an uncomfortable thing to do. I also felt he was a unnecessary and judgemental to ask me if it was my ‘first baby’ when I brought my (2nd child) 1 year old in after a very concerning high temperature of 38 and an episode of unusually accute pain I’d just witnessed.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry some things have not been quite to your needs, and I will address this at out next practice meeting. The GPs guidance is if there is an abnormally or urgent blood report they will call themselves to the patient immediately. If it normal or negative unless the patient requests feedback - this can be found online. I will pass on your valid note regarding images and sharing. If we can assist in any further way please do me know. Practice manager

I went in to have my stitches removed, I was sent a reminder the day before. I didn’t have to wait long before I was seen by the nurse who was very professional.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are as ever trying to address the telephony system, and I can only apologise. Our online appointments seem to fly off the system the minute they are added. I will make sure the nurse is made aware of your comments. Practice manager

  6. Review titled Very disorganised surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 March 2024

I’ve experienced ongoing issues with this surgery for a number of years but stuck with it. Rude reception staff that act beyond their responsibilities when interrogating patients and pass on incorrect messages to doctors for referrals, never any appointments and recently has to shut shop because no doctor’s. The staff behave and speak like they don’t want to be there or help patients. Furthermore, I was advised on 11 Feb 2024 that due to my post code being outside of the area (1.5 miles away) I would have to register with a new surgery within 30days. I called the surgery to explain that I was going to be away for 2 weeks followed by private foot surgery that would incapacitate me for a further 2-4 weeks and therefore would find this timescale too short. I was assured that I wouldn’t be removed until I found a new surgery and not to worry. I have just been told today after submitting my monthly repeat prescription that I’m no longer registered and can’t get prescription that is now urgent. I wasn’t offered a temporary/urgent assistance as like a visitor would be given. I was with this surgery for over 20 years and it appears there is no duty of care for patients. This is a bad representation for the NHS however, each surgery is only as efficient as the staff that are managing it….absolutely disgraceful service and should be shut down as it appears they can’t cope with the patient demand!!

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry things have not been acceptable to you. We are instructed on retaining patients within our catchment, and to remove as we could be accused of fraud commonly known as ghosting. We do try and help patients when they are leaving it would appear there has been a glitch in your case. We have never 'shut shop' I am sorry, but I must disagree. Practice manager

  8. Review titled Great home care visit

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 March 2024

Thank you to the two lovely health care workers who visited my mum yesterday at home. My mum has Alzheimer's and has become more frail since Xmas and it's difficult to get her out of the house so we missed lots of requests for routine follow up visits. The surgery noticed this and contacted me to suggest they come round to do the checks. The two ladies who came were efficient and knowledgeable and treated my mum with great kindness and respect. They were equally sympathetic to us as her carers and made sure we knew about other help we could access. Great care! Thank you.
