Like all gp practices these days difficult to get hold of but doctor herself was wonderful. Very helpful advice and action. If only it was more accessible

Review titled A little disorganised
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by paul vernall - Posted on 06 January 2024
I had to wait 20 minutes beyond my appointment time before being called but I’m not complaining; it’s normal for this surgery which is obviously a busy one. I was unable to complete my appointment with the nurse however, being too young for the shingles vaccine and despite having been called-up for it by the surgery. The nurse was pleasant, apologetic and helpful but the waste of my time and hers could have been avoided.

Dear Paul, Thank you for your feedback. I do apologise that sometimes patients overrun in appointments which causes an obvious delay for the following patients thank you for your understanding. It would appear that you are just too young for the vaccine, however you will receive an invite later this year I hope you will return. Many thanks, Kind regards, Practice manager

Review titled Good and Not so Good
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2024
My experience (yesterday) was great. The reception team did their best to help answer my queries and I have found recently the doctors are more pro active in their care. However lack of face to face appointments is worrying and the process to get an appointment can be very stressful to the point of giving up which can for some be a life changing problem.

Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for update on reception and their assistance to you. Our GPs do their very best for each and every patient in some cases this may take more 'behind the scenes' work. We are working on our appointments system and have engaged our ICB to help us do this, hopefully things will improve. Our face to face appointments are exactly the same as pre covid, however as our telephone triage system has remained in place since 2020 as the national guidance advise we have therefore had an increase in our contact numbers to patients. Thank you for taking the time to feedback it is always useful and we can respond. Regards, Practice manager

Review titled Wasted trip to surgery
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Moira - Posted on 09 January 2024
I was sent a message, on 7th Nov 2023, to book a shingles vaccination. I went to my appointment on 8th January 2024, only to be told that I was too young and could not have it til later in the year. When I asked why I'd been called, I was informed it was a technical error from the computer system and it was happening to lots of people!!!!! I also asked the nurse hiw yo gsin access to my medical records on NHS app and was told the reception staff would be able to advise. However, the reception staff were unable to advise me how to do this!!

Dear Moira, I am sorry for the mishap there had been a cliché with the recall process for the shingles vaccine due to various ages being invited. I apologise if you were given incorrect information our reception staff do not have anything to do with the NHS app there is nothing we can actively do to help patients. I hope you have managed to resolve the problem. Kind regards, Practice manager

Review titled Doctors appointment excellent!
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jacqueline Hurst - Posted on 02 February 2024
At last I got a face to face doctor appointment and must say Dr was extremely helpful and follow up with hospital appointment came next day with phone call It’s just such a shame that it’s just so hard to see your own doctor much sooner

Thank you for your feedback. We have changed to telephone consultations initially as per the guidance of the NHS post covid. This is so we are able to offer more access to patients. We do physically see as live data shows an almost like for like number (2019) of patients daily. Telephone consultations allow clinicians to access the actual need to be seen. So while it may appear that we do not offer face to face this is the rationale behind it. I hope this has helped. I will pass on your positive comments to all staff at out next practice meeting. Regards, Practice manager

Review titled Good practice but some shortfalls

No doctor was on site so little one couldn’t get vaccinated. We should have been informed about this before arrival at the practice. It caused a huge inconvenience.

Good afternoon Thank you for your feedback. We rarely have no GP on site, this would only happen if we had one half day GP and an emergency came in for a home visit. A GP would only be off site in case of emergency home visit which takes no longer than 30 minutes. Please contact me to discuss. Practice manager

Friendly staff and efficient service. I was only a few minutes late going in to my appointment for a regular health check. The health check was thorough and made me feel comfortable with my life style.
