Very professional but also put me at ease. At all times explained everything and kept me informed of the results.

Did an econsult, got a call about an appointment later that day. The doctor called me in 5 minutes earlier than my appointment time and she was lovely. She checked everything and really put my mind at ease.

Blood test efficiently taken but not contacted with results. Fortunately I have online access so looked it up myself. Fine, but not really the point, is it?

Dear Nigel, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Due to the large volume of blood test results that we receive on a daily basis, we are unable to contact patients with normal results. I can assure you that we would be in touch if the GP has concerns regarding your bloods. Kind regards Sarah, Deputy Patient Services Manager

When eventualy saw nurse was great but a very long wait due to long term staff member sickness and clearly workload not monitored or for me not adequately. Could inpact on more serious patients

Appointment was over 1 hour late. Reception seemed aware that it would be this case because of the doctor working but failed to tell me on booking/arrival. Appointment itself was incredibly long with doctor seeking to have very little clue and/or confidence in his skills or ability to do the job. Concerned over ability to practice

I got a phone appointment same day which was good and the doctor very helpful, however with a phone call the doctor cannot see or examine you. The process for booking a face to face appointment is ridiculous. If you want to make an appointment your told to call between 8- 12 if you want to make an appointment for a specific day, which for those that work is important, your told the doctors haven’t put in what days they will be in the surgery. The receptionist should have a monthly rota so they know when the doctors will be in the surgery. I rarely go to the doctors but as I approach 60 I am more concerned that some ailments may be more serious than I may think and visits to a pharmacy to self medicate may not be in my best interests as I get older.

Dear Patient, thank you taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry to learn that you have been disappointed with our appointment system. All requests are triaged by the duty doctor for the most appropriate appointment. This may be an on the day telephone or face to face appointment or could be for an appointment in the future. When speaking with the receptionist, please do advise of your preference although the decision is ultimately with the duty doctor. The best way of securing an in advance appointment would be to complete an econsult on our website and note your availability. These are also triaged by our duty doctor. If you would like to discuss this further, please email me on sxicb-wsx.ltsreception@nhs.net Regards Sarah, Deputy Patient Services Manager

I called about a problem with my eye. I got a return call quickly offering me an appointment at the surgery and the receptionist was very sympathetic and helpful. I did opt though to go straight to the eye hospital in Brighton as I know they have more resources and I would come home after with a clear understanding of what the problem was. Turned out to be an eye infection which caused my eye to be swollen and thus distorting the vision in that eye, for which I was very much relieved and not something more serious.

I had an appointment 5mins from my house and at the last minute (two hours before) it was cancelled. Then about an hour before it was rescheduled for the same day, 20mins after the first appointment, and placed at an inconvenient surgery which was not only confusing but also a massive inconvenience to me.

Dear Kirt, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry to hear that we had to cancel your appointment. Unfortunately, at times, this is unavoidable due to staff sickness. We will always try to accommodate your preferred surgery, when an appointment is available, but this is not always possible, especially on the same day. I am glad to hear that you were still able to get seen on the same day. Regards Sarah, Deputy Patient Services Manager

I used the econsult facility to make contact with the surgery, and the issue that I had raised was dealt with immediately within just a few hours
