    Had a telephone appointment for a prescription review with one of the pharmacy team. Got the call within a few minutes of the appointment time which was good. The pharmacist was friendly and engaged. They encouraged me to speak, asked questions, listened to my answers and did not rush me. I was given excellent advice and I ended the call very satisfied with the service I had just received. Thank you.

    I no longer find the systems at the Hollies Medical Centre fit for purpose. At least twice recently I have had to wait for over an hour to get a response to a call to book an appointment. On one occasion, having held the call for over 40 minutes, I walked for 20 odd minutes up to the Centre with the phone still ringing and it was still quicker than getting a telephone response. I surmise that the practice has taken on too many patients for the number of staff available, causing stress for both patients and reception staff, but there may be other reasons you can make me aware of. In addition, the quality of some doctors’ phone interactions with patients is in need of improvement. My husband was recently left totally confused by a call where the doctor gabbled very quickly to him, even after being told that he is slightly deaf. To be fair, my husband was too confused to tell the doctor that he had not heard or understood. It was only luck that I was close by and thought I heard he had an appointment or he would have missed it. The advice on how to contact the practice is confusing and not very accessible, especially if you become ill later in the day. You are increasingly signposted to go elsewhere and the care you receive becomes fragmented. For some patients there can be difficulties of getting to other venues, either because of mobility or work/time issues. I now remember with nostalgic fondness when the practice was small and you knew all the staff and they knew you. You had continuity of care and much easier access to higher quality care. I am also aware that the situation may be fuelled by national shortages. However, I am increasingly dissatisfied with a system that appears to be getting steadily worse, rather than better.

    I was contacted about a Shingles jab. An appointment was made within three weeks and I recieved the jab in a speedy appointment. The nurse was excellent and the whole procedure went very smoothly.

    I am relatively new to the practice (18 months) and have more than my share of medical needs. They have always been responsive and thorough whenever I have needed them and follow up with referrals etc immediately. The doctors let you take your time if you need to and they go the extra mile with home visits, even late in the evening. The whole team from receptionists to nurses to doctors is supportive and the ethos of the practice is welcoming. My only quibble is access for someone with restricted mobility can prove challenging! Thank you for all you do.

    Had a face to face session with a doctor, following my emailed request for an appointment, about 2 issues and sneaked in a 3rd. Clear and full explanation of test results and discussion of statins with more info texted on request. Time bound but original reason for test not followed up, although very positive and useful exchange on results.

    I recently attended for a cervical smear. The nurse was extremely helpful. She listened carefully to some recent problems,vsorted a further consultation and carried out the procedure with care and dignity. Thank you.

    I was asked by my dentist to see a Doctor as they couldn't help me any more. I rang on the Thursday morning and was told to ring at 10am for non emergency, (I was in pain) I rang at 10am and they said they had nothing left and would put me on the Friday list. I waited in all day Friday No one rang. I was suffering with pain again over the weekend, went back to the dentist Monday and they tried doing another filling, which only worked a little. On that same Monday the receptionists rang giving me no apologies for last week but booking me in on the current Friday! I visit the Doctor but she thought I had something that a specialist would have to see me, she gave me text of information about it, it doesn't sound like what I have on reading it. So now I will have to call back. Still in pain. I've noticed since covid it is not as good as it use to be, the practise.
