Review titled Friendly & caring.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Amanda Campbell - Posted on 18 September 2023
Had phonecall as arranged on Friday & was given appointment for Monday. Did wait too long in waiting room & was talked through each step of procedure. The staff were very friendly & caring. Was told not to rush & leave when I was ready.

Find it hard not actually see doctor face to face. Had a lot of telephone consults recently, doesn’t give me confidence

Not a fan of the method that requires telephone conversation before an appointment but the process was conducted very professionally.

Saw medical student initially. Very kind, empathetic and thorough. GP joined us and helped progress investigative process regarding hip pain. Ongoing. Both ladies explained every step of the way

Review titled Quite good
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Considering the general difficulty of speaking direct to a GP. I didn’t have to wait too long. But like with a lot of patients, I long for the days when we could see a GPface to face.

Review titled Constant inconsistency

I recently requested an admin document, allowing 4 weeks before it was needed. I called the practice and was unable to sit on hold longer than the 45 minutes I had already waited, so completed an econsult. The date I was given for a response was very far in advance so I sent an email explaining the situation. I had no response to my email or my econsult so again did another econsult. I needed to pop into the practice to drop off a prescription so thought I’d make sure they had my correct mobile number. They still had my old one, even though I have corrected this twice before; but we updated it again. The receptionist told me the doctor would call me later than day or the day after, as he had requested a phone appointment after my first econsult, but no one had actioned it! I received no call as promised, so I went back into the practice to again query this. I was told the doctor had closed the econsult as he had tried to call twice and was unable to get through! I again asked on what mobile number, and they read back my old one.. which was supposedly correct two days before. The receptionist this time told me that he would call me that day as a matter of urgency. I received no phone call. I sent another email asking for someone to contact me to get this sorted, as I shouldn’t have to do another econsult when this is through no fault of my own. They agreed to pass it to a different doctor and advised me I’d receive a call later that day, which I did! Finally! My biggest issue with Beacon is that everything seems to be stressful when dealing with them. Nothing is straight forward and there is always an issue, to the point I now actually avoid contacting them unless I absolutely have to. I am always disappointed with their service.

Review titled Good practice
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I’ve always found receptionists, nurses and Drs. Approachable and helpful. I’ve not had a problem when walking in to make an appointment for the Dr. To phone me. This has always been successful for me. When seeing the Dr. she has always been a good listener and explained things easily and asking me if I have any questions and if I’m worried not to be afraid to contact her,

Review titled Staff are helpful.

I explained to the Receptionist about needing to get my Omepretzal reinstated. She then arranged for my Dr. to phone me. Better still, he text to say that he had now arranged this.

Review titled Could Do Better
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Cherie Holmwood - Posted on 18 September 2023
On the whole my personal experience of my Gp I cannot fault at Chaddlewood Surgery along with the rest of the staff. If you are unfortunate to have to attend one of the other practices then service reduces. In particular Mudge Way or Glenside practices. My recent experience of mudge way not enough nurses to book required appointments, and no suitable supplies for dressings, had to make do and mock up what they had! Order placed on my prescription for dressings and gel for an open wound a week ago, still waiting
