All the staff are lovely and friendly. Our dentist is great, always explains when treatment is required, happy to answer any questions and puts my mind at ease.

Being kept waiting 20 minutes past my appointment time, in the 60 years I’ve been coming to this practice I’ve never had to wait that long

Staff on the desk on Arrival where very friendly and polite. That is so reassuring when nervous etc comming to dentists. Dentist was very informative and also put me at ease, thanks

Dentist review I was lucky enough to be taken on by Victoria House Dental Practice a few years ago when my previous dental practice closed. Since then, I have been very pleased by all aspects of my NHS dental treatments and by the efficiency of the support staff. However, I never understood why the scale and polish treatment carried out by the Hygienist is not covered by the NHS. Recently the cost for the scale and polish treatment has risen to £79 alarmingly well above the rate of inflation. During my research while writing this review it has become clear to me that the current £25.80 ‘check-up’ fee actually will include a scale and polish if it is clinically necessary. So, my £79 pound treatment was clearly ‘not clinically necessary’. When I booked my next visit for a scale and polish, the surgery showed an insulting lack of trust by asking me for a £25 deposit in the event of me not turning up for the appointment. No individual receipt was offered for the deposit. I was told that the introduction of the deposit scheme was as a result of the increase in the number of ‘no-shows’. The ‘no-shows’ are clearly because of ordinary people’s wages are unable to keep up with the huge increases in the cost of the private scale and polish treatment. The dentist told me I needed a filling asap but didn’t write it on the form. The receptionist checked with her, only for the dentist to say I didn’t -which I clearly do because I have a hole in my tooth. Booked to see a different dentist within the surgery.

The hygienist was lovely and did a good assessment before starting. The appointment lasted 20 minutes and for £79 I think it is a lot of money for the average patient.
