I was well looked after staff were very nice and helpful and polite every thing was explained to me what was going on even the surgeon explained every thing that he was doing each step of the surgery i could not have had a better team. Thank you for a good experience

From my 1st visit to my review after surgery the team at Spa Medica Sittingbourne have been amazing. I did have problems after surgery but they were so thorough, professional and caring I knew I was in safe hands. Having been a qualified ophthalmic nurse myself I was probably more worried than most as I knew what could go wrong but I need not have worried. They were fantastic. We visited the Spa Medica at Woking, prior to this surgery,to see if I wanted Toric lenses but they were not as friendly as Sittingbourne and we felt we were a nuisance, so we went back to Sittingbourne and are so glad we did. A huge thank you to the team at Sittingbourne, you are amazing xx

I have just had surgery for cataracts after only a 10 day gap from my optician referring me. If that wasn’t enough all the staff from reception, nurses, operating theatre staff, cleaner and even the manageress who came to say hello and make me and other people a drink all took time to make me feel comfortable, explain the process and make me feel like a really important person and not just a number. You are all so kind. Thank you for your care and your professionalism. I am really happy and a little bit emotional!

The various stages of the visits, both the assessment and the operation itself were very smoothly managed with all staff treating me and my carer with respect and good humour.(and coffee and biscuits even if you were waiting in the corridor between stages).

Excellent treatment from pre-op to operation to aftercare. I had a common side-effect (retinal oedema) after the procedure which was treated quickly, sympathetically and effectively. Now I can read and drive without glasses.

My wife was booked for a cataracts referral and now needs surgery. The service from booking the appointment through to walking out with her diagnosis and operation booked in for next month was simply outstanding. Everything clearly explained, everyone so friendly and helpful and the whole operation of the place is hugely professional. If only the whole NHS could be run like here! She returns in 2 weeks for her operation and we are enormously confident that everything will run on time and be successful. Thank you to all involved

My first cataract surgery was 14 Oct 2022.The staff were all friendly and supportive. The clinic is spotlessly clean and the waiting areas have hot drinks and biscuits with a radio playing which makes the experience more relaxing than in a general hospital. The wait for the eye drops to take effect was about 2 hours, but all patients wait in the same area, so we were able to chat which took our minds off the coming surgery. The actual surgery took about 6 mins and was completely painless. My 2nd cataract surgery was 13 Jan 2023. Again the staff were all lovely, but the surgery was not as easy. It was a different surgeon and the operation was painless but uncomfortable. I was sent home with eye drops and follow ups have been done by my normal optician. My eye sight is now is very much improved. I would have preferred to have had the two operations closer together as I've only just been able to order new glasses for driving.
