The majority of staff were kind, professional, and welcoming. I have nothing but praise for them. However, this was not the case with the surgeon. I don’t think my eye was adequately numbed and I felt pain. This caused me to jump. I am well aware of how devastating this could have been for the surgeon and me. It was a reflex action that I could not control. He informed me in no uncertain terms that if I moved again, he would stop and the procedure would be cancelled. I am 78 years old and I felt like a naughty schoolgirl. I explained that I felt pain and he was sharp and dismissive. I felt pain during the rest of the procedure but didn’t say anything because i felt intimidated. I think there are ways of talking to people and this wasn’t it.

I was referred to Spa Medica Sheffield for cataract surgery. From receipt of my referral I was offered an assessment appointment within a week and surgery the week after. The facilities are excellent, the staff welcoming and the whole process was carried out in a professional manner.

Thankyou to everyone for being so kind friendly and helpful through my second eye op. I'm glad to say I can see perfect glad to say I don't need glasses even for driving thanks to the surgeon fitting my new lenses and the colours fantastic lovely dawn and dusk sky beautiful so once again Thankyou and keep up the good work and take care.

I found all staff very helpful - they put my mind at ease with every step of the process from booking my initial appointment by phone for assessment, right through to the cataract surgery itself. I was amazed at how quickly my referral came through. I saw my personal optometrist at the beginning of December & had my surgery on 28th December. All in all my experience with Spamedica was very positive & I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Sheffield practice to my friends. Thank you.

I am really impressed by the speed and efficiency of the service supplied by SpaMedica, I was very nerous when I was diagnosed with a cataract but I had no need to worry at all

From start friendly and helpful whilst being professional at all time. A smooth system that worked so well. The operation went so well and I didnt feel a thing and was completed so quickly.Thank you to every single person there and I can’t wait to return for my other eye to be done.

This practice is great ,very friendly staff and doctors, explained everything in detail and made me feel very comfortable and my eyes are getting better each day ,thank you very much Mrs Pat Dyson x

Professional and helpful staff, from initial assessment to operation only eight days. Clinic clean and safe, kept fully informed by staff and post op steps clearly explained

Having visited this admirable facility twice, I can only praise highly all surgical, nursing and administrative staff. I was delighted to find that final checkup at my own Opticians was carried out by a SpaMedica optometrist; proper follow-up to the operations! Thank you all.

A warm welcome was made on entering the premises. The staff were friendly & made you feel at ease. They explained everything every step of the way. I would highly recommend this clinic
