From first entering the practice till the time of leaving the service was excellent and the staff were brilliant and very caring in the manner they performed their roles.

I was picked up by SpaMadica's minibus and taken to the Poole hospital where I was quickly booked in. There was biscuits and drinks available to have while I waited for my treatment. At the appropriate time, I was taken to a room where a lady took my details and checked my medical history, She gave me drops for my eye that was to be operated on and then I was taken to a waiting room with comfortable chairs and water and biscuits available. After a wait while the drops took effect, I was taken to another room where my details were checked again, more drops given and the surgeon came in and explained what would happen. I was then taken into the theatre for the procedure where there were three additional staff to monitor the procedure. The surgeon performed the cataract surgery and it did not cause me any pain and was done within 15 minutes. I was then led to another area where a nurse gave me a booklet explaining what I had to do post surgery. I was provided with drops to be applied at home for the next fortnight and told how to contact SpaMadica if anything went wrong. Finally I was escorted to a waiting room to wait for my fellow patients to have their surgery done. The driver of the minibus came and made sure that we were alright while we waited watching a TV. The driver was very good and made sure that each patient got indoors safely when he dropped them off. The whole experience was very good and I recommend SpaMedica for cataract surgery.

The whole experience was professional and efficient. Appointments were arranged very quickly, so unlike the usual NHS service. A thorough assessment and examination was made in advance of the operation. The Operation day went smoothly with fairly minimal waiting, refreshments are always freely available and appreciated. The operation was carried out efficiently and was over in less than 15 minutes. Not the most pleasant experience but completely painless. Recovery was quick and the slightly blurry eyesight in the affected eye very soon cleared. Other departments in the NHS could learn from this efficiency and specialisation.

All of the staff at this clinic, from the porter (guy who met me at the door) to reception staff to nurses and Optometrists went out of their way to greet me with kindness and deliver superb care during my time there. Glad to say, I hope I won’t be back 😀 But if I do, then I definitely will look forward to meeting the super friendly staff again 👍

Arrived at 9.10am for a 9.40 appt. Wasn't seen or spoken to till 10.20am! Was already feeling very anxious so the wait didn't help. Eventually went in to see the nurse who was amazing. He noticed I was nervous and did everything to calm me. Went into the next room, another 40 mins till I went in to the pre-op room. By the time iwent into the op room just wanted to go home. All staff were amazing and friendly but the wait was just too long.

Everyone from booking in staff to nurses and consultants were so helpful and caring . Being deaf I found the consultant and nurses in the theatre so understanding , they spoke so clearly . Thank you all for beat care

Smiling faces; fully enabled staff; clear information at each stage; modern, clean rooms; highly competent medics; entirely painless, super-quick operation which the surgeon talked me through clearly and sensitively at each stage.

All medical staff provided excellent care and went out of their way to make me feel reassured. The operation was a complete success and I am very grateful to everyone involved.
