Review titled Highly recommended
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2024
My GP referred me to a physiotherapist at the Milson Rd centre in Shepherds Bush. I have hip and lower back problems, as shown by recent X-rays. The lady was extremely pleasant and very attentive. She gave me a thorough assessment and tailored exercises to my condition, advising how I could increase them and make more difficult as I progress. All my questions and concerns were answered and I left feeling much more optimistic about my condition. The exercises are helping to ease the pain I had. I would highly recommend attending an appointment here, they really do make a difference and help.

Review titled Helped me a lot

I was referred to physio a while back from my gp with back pain. I did exercises for a while then sent for an mri of my back, nothing shown up. Then I was sent for a hip mri and I have mild bursitis, but painful. Thanks to the doctors here they queried rheumatoid arthritis. I had a blood test done and I have high rf so now awaiting a referral to a rheumatologist. The doctor I saw most recently even sent an urgent referral over to them and said I can receive a pain killing injection in my hip if I'm not seen quite urgently. I've received nothing but care and professionalism from them and finally on my way to being pain free. Thank you msk Rochdale!

Review titled Speedy response and treatment

My GP suggested physiotherapy regarding my left knee which has been playing up and made walking very difficult. I had a part knee replacement 6 years ago. There are 4 elements which impressed me. 1) My appointment with my GP was on 5 June 2024. 2) On 14th June 2024 I received a telephone call ( at 8 am) from a senior physio clinician to arrange a meeting. Due to commitments (both ways) a meeting in the near future was not possible. We discussed my situation and symptoms over the phone. He promised to send me a exercise program by email. This program was received at 8.40 am the same day!! 3) The program put together was absolutely spot on, based on the information given over the phone. Within a week the first signs of improvement were noticeable. 4) The use of technology is key as part of this process and I have the program on my laptop, which makes my life easy. The NHS Oxfordshire Community Musculoskeletal Service provided by Connect Health is very impressive and of the highest quality in my case. Thank you.

Review titled Excellent support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elizabeth Gretton - Posted on 07 June 2024
I was assessed following an incident when I broke my ankle. I received a set of exercises which provided initial recovery then further gym exercises which have proved very beneficial. Any queries were dealt with professionally and in a friendly manner. I will continue with gym use after the physio programme ends.

Review titled Cortisol injection in finger
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Isabella - Posted on 03 September 2024
I had a referral to to the Specialist Hand Clinic due to severe arthritis pain in my middle finger. I was triaged and accepted for a cortisol injection to relieve my pain. The injection was carried out using ultrasound for guidance. The Doctor explained the procedure in detail and was very patient and supportive. I was impressed by his skill and expertise and felt confident in his care. My pain decreased within a few hours and continued to decrease over the next few days until I was virtually pain free. This meant I could regain the use of my hand, which had been restricted due to the pain I was experiencing. I cannot thank the Doctor and staff at Connect Health enough. I felt supported and respected throughout and would not hesitate to recommend this service.

I was forwarded to this clinic after attending a clinic in Hucnall for 3months with hip problems. After an examination the physio said he felt happy to refer me for surgery as I have tried other options. Waiting to hear back from them now. Happy with the result

Review titled Group exercise
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2024
The group classes took place for 6 weeks. The positives were the staff were friendly. They kept checking in on everyone asking if they were okay. There was a variation of exercises. Which could be adapted where needed. Unlike the exercises prescribed by the individual physio which I found really good. you choose which exercises to carry out at home. Which if I honest I did not find the best fit for my rehabilitation .As I felt some of the exercises I choose to do caused more pain than benefits. The classes were not an ideal fit for me. Unlike the personal physio appointments were I felt I was making some kind of progress.

Review titled Demoralising waste of time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Catherine Mccormick - Posted on 16 May 2024
Back pain and intermittent numbness both legs, loss of bladder control saw physio via video during covid. I was given very basic exercises that did nothing. Told I would receive follow-up for non-specific back pain. No appt received. Re-referred 1 year later for same issues, had telephone appt given exercises again that I could not do. Waited for follow-up, eventually I get message asking if I still need appt? Finally saw lady physio 2 days ago who insisted I had been seen physically before because she had the notes. She asked what my expectations were and I said I wanted to know if it was ok to do exercise without risking damage and was there any imaging needed? She said we dont do that unless its something that can be fixed by surgery? So I said then you can discharge me if you are not able to do anything else. The physio did not understand what I said, she was busy talking down to me after I had explained I was already very depressed that day. Then I get letter saying I am discharged because I refused examination because they would not mri! This whole situation is purely wasting your time, patronising you, making you feel like you are imposing on them. Whole team could do with training on how to communicate with people who are worried, have legitimate distrust of service, have been abandoned on a waiting list for years and then get offered nothing. My GP told me she cannot refer me for any imaging unless these people say so! When did some physio become responsible for my health when they know nothing about my med hist? Dreadful, should not have contract renewed. Fleecing NHS for money for a good run around before discharging you anyway.
