  1. Review titled A&E Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by M L - Posted on 11 September 2024

I couldn't have asked for better treatment at A&E, it took me a long time to even start to equalise from the ambulance journey, the doctor who treated me over several hours was extremely thorough, really did listen and all the staff really treated me with compassion, understanding and patience. The porter on my return from the CT scan was so chatty and cheerful, despite feeling traumatised, he made me smile. This hospital is vital and the staff are a true asset. I would like this passed on to the staff who treated me if possible, I can be identified from my email address. Once again, my sincere thanks to you all.

  2. Review titled Good treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Elizabeth - Posted on 17 September 2024

Triaged quickly & from there other investigations made. Long wait to see Doctor , but understandable , they were busy, didn't seem enough doctors to keep up with people that had been through triage. Also under stand patients needing help more urgent. When we saw Doctor great examination, lots of care, kindness & explanation. Further help followed up by appointment made on phone two days later. Our thanks to all staff , who were very busy.

  3. Review titled A positive experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Whilst on holiday I felt quite ill, Weston was the nearest hospital. On arrival the chirpy professional receptionist had details of my referral from 111. It was quite busy but I only had to wait 50 mins to triage. From that point I was sent off for bloods, ECT and a chest X-Ray, it was a very slick process and within 2 hours, I saw a clinician to discuss my results. All the staff I saw where, polite, friendly, kind and professional, they left no stone unturned to get to the bottom of my sickness. I can't fault the service. I left in a much better state than when I went in. Yes the plastic chairs were uncomfortable, although I did eventually spot a row of more padded chairs. There were also vending machines for drinks and snacks.

Appallingly poor performance, God help them if they were ever busy. Where on earth were the doctors? Avoid if possibly can.

  5. Review titled Slow Hospital Cardio test results

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ian Cox - Posted on 04 August 2024

Had a Ultrasonic Trans Thoracic Echocardiogram on 1st July 2024 for patient with mild AF identified in 2007 ECG at surgery 26/4/2024 still showed minor ventricular anomaly - (Patient male , 74) No results received by me or the surgery as of today 3/8/2024 . It may be that no news is good news but my recent diabetic eyesight results (run at the surgery by Bristol) took just 7 days to reach me and the practice. Who do we chase for the Cardio results?? To be totally fair, the actual test was well performed and reasonably ontime. Why are results ( good or bad) taking such a long time?

I had a transvaginal ultrasound scan today and just want to say a big thank you to the male sonographer and the female chaperone who treated me with dignity and respect throughout the procedure.

  7. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rosemary Davies - Posted on 09 May 2024

I was admitted from A and E with severe pain in stomach and transferred to Steepholme ward at beginning of May. The care and attention I had for 6 days was second to none and I would like to give a big thank you to doctors, nurses and other essential staff for their dedicated services. The cleanliness and decor of the ward was also very good. I would not have a single crticism of the running of this ward and its staff.

  8. Review titled Kindness and consideration

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Susan Y - Posted on 26 April 2024

I took my brother to UTC (09/04/24) for treatment of a sudden facial rash, not strictly an emergency but for various reasons difficult to get to doctor's surgery and he had a neurology appointment that afternoon in the Hospital. The receptionist was efficient and friendly. The Senior Nurse and Doctor were also very considerate and kind. We were impressed with treatment and the department which seemed like a "well oiled machine". Being efficiently accomodated helped us at a difficult time. So many thanks to all.

  9. Review titled Staff are polite and helpful.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 April 2024

I was seen by 2 nurses who were very professional and helpful. The department was very busy. I was there from 2 p.m. until 5.10 p.m. which included a lot of waiting and I found the seats a bit uncomfortable after all that time. I get back ache if I sit too long in one position but at 81 years of age I suppose that will be put down to old age!!! My CT scan and x-rays proved clear of injury except the visible grazes etc. One nurse was exceptionally helpful.
