  1. Review titled Made to feel at ease

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Cherry - Posted on 07 August 2023

I was made to feel at ease by the kindest nurses I ever met. All the staff of the department were friendly and wonderful. A very nice nurse held my hand throughout the treatment, made me feel secure and safe, which overcome any fear I had. I didn't feel alone. I am eternally grateful for all the attention they gave me, I could not have wished for a better stay at the hospital. I want to say to you all at the Endoscopy Unit that dealt with me that you did the NHS proud, I had an undivided attention at all times but at least someone. Everything was explained to me and everything was done to make my time there comfortable as possible. God bless you all.

  3. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharon Denmeade - Posted on 15 August 2023

My mom broke her hip and was taken to Warwick Hospital by friendly professional paramedics. The staff on A&E were friendly and caring too. My mom had surgery and was treated on Willoughby Ward where again the staff were cheerful and kind. My mom then transferred to Charlecote Ward and again was treated with care and kindness. The occupational therapists were patient and positive with her and she was soon mobile. Thanks to the excellent treatment my mom received she is now at home. My mom wanted to say thank you and that the staff deserve better pay. I wanted to say thank you from all the family.

  4. Review titled Great team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tricia Mitchell - Posted on 14 July 2023

Having had this procedure before I was nervous. However, the staff were very kind, caring and reassuring. I was given a sedative which was a game changer and the whole procedure was comfortable and even interesting. If I have to have another colonoscopy in the future I shall be much more relaxed about it. Thank you to the great team at Warwick Endoscopy Unit. Not so great getting in there around all the builders!

  5. Review titled Compassionate Personalised Care in Action

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2023

My dad recently had a short stay in the coronary care unit, he had a cardiac event during planned surgery and as a result was cared for on this ward. My dad has early dementia and he became very confused and disorientated following the event and anaesthetic. The ward, despite caring for some of the most sick patients, were so caring, understanding and compassionate to his needs. They knew what he needed and how to include him in the ward activities to keep him occupied and distract him from his distress and fear associated with not remembering where he was or what had happened. This is not easy to do whilst delivering specialist care but the ward and staff did it with heart and smiles on their faces; despite his confusion being harder for them and adding to their workload. As a result he settled very quickly as he felt safe around them and is now home and trying to process what happened, what he does know is that they were lovely and looked after him and despite his confusion he is still talking about them now. This is truly amazing in the circumstances that our NHS is in with demand higher than it can manage and staff who are going above and beyond daily. We are forever grateful to those who saved his life and as equally grateful to those who made him feel “safe and included” when he could have been made to feel very scared and a nuisance! You are all amazing and I know none of your thought you were doing anything special but it was and we see you. Thank You from us all

  7. Review titled First class treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I took my partner to A and E as he had fallen and cut his head badly. He was seen very quickly by the triage nurse and then went into the doctor. The doctor was so kind and reassuring. He treated my partner very well and explained everything very clearly. He had an extremely good manner and was very kind. The whole of the department was very well run all the staff we met were very helpful.

  8. Review titled Fabulous

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The care my mother has received has been second to none. I cannot thank you enough. Sadly, I have had to take my dad to visit using one of your wheelchairs. Oh my goodness, what an awful experience. I myself am disabled. I have had to find the strength to push down the brake and push the chair forwards at the same time. This is not a complaint, it is a plea for something easier to use. I have found it almost beyond me at times but have had to battle on. I beg you, please reconsider the wheelchairs you offer the public to use. Thank you for your consideration

  9. Review titled Exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sally Caton - Posted on 20 July 2023

I had knee replacement surgery and found all the staff from cleaners to operating staff outstanding. All very kind and caring nothing was too much trouble. I desperately wanted to go home the same day and it was looking unlikely as I had to have a x-ray and the pharmacy was closing I hadn't got my meds. The staff went above and beyond to make it happen and managed to get me ready to go home by 8.00pm. Thank you all so much. I absolutely recommended the orthopaedic department and couldn't have had a better experience.

  10. Review titled Suggestion for improvement of procedure

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Ssndison - Posted on 27 July 2023

On the colonoscopy report it states (quite correctly) under "advice/comments" that the preparation was poor and under the heading "Report" that preparation was inadequate. This was due to incorrect advice given on the Bowel preparation sheet to "have a good breakfast of foods taken from yesterday's permitted list" and gave far too little time for solids to be passed through the digestive system. I followed the advice precisely and had had omelette and yoghurt for said breakfast. My suggestion (also communicated to the practitioner) is that this be changed and a liquid 'shake', or liquid food substitute be given in dis-solvable powder form to the patient for breakfast and lunch (only, no supper) the day before the procedure. This would eliminate the likelihood of solids still being present in the bowel when a colonoscopy is performed.
