  1. Review titled A great team

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2023

: I recently had elective surgery at Warrington hospital. Every team I encountered was professional and caring: the lovely lady in the waiting list team, the friendly pre-op team, the super-busy ward staff on a5, and of course the calming theatre staff and surgeon. Everyone involved helped to relieve the stress I felt about having an operation under general anaesthetic, despite being incredibly busy. The NHS continues to deliver great care despite the challenges that it faces, I would like to say thank you to everyone involved and repeat what I said in theatre before going to sleep, “I know I am in safe hands”.

  2. Review titled Excellent and prompt treatment and care

    by john3173 - Posted on 03 January 2023

Attended A&E with a nasty cut to my arm which had displaced the flesh and needed cleaning and stitching. On arrival I saw seven ambulance queuing, patient reception full of waiting patients, I anticipated at least a four to five hour wait to be assessed and treated. Within an hour I was seen by the nurse for assessment and referred to the minor injuries unit to have the wound cleaned and stiched. Both nurses were marvelous, attentive to my needs and treatment, I think the A&E staff are like ducks on water, calm on top but their feet paddling for all they are worth. I would like to thank the nurses and staff for their care and organisation in processing my care so effectively.

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Clive H - Posted on 16 January 2023

I attended for a sigmoidoscopy last week. Even though I have had these before one is always a bit apprehensive; I have been a healthcare provider for over 40 years but it is quite different when you are on the receiving end quite literally! However I soon realised I need not worry, from the moment I was called from the waiting room by B, she was very empathic and professional; and I felt very much at ease as she placed the enema up my bottom!! Soon after wheeled in to the theatre to meet the team, fantastic group , obviously very skilled in their roles but found time to introduce themselves and explain the procedure. Overall I am very grateful for everything that was done from a highly skilled caring team.

  4. Review titled Car parking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2023

I'm concerned that the car parking system at Warrington Hospital causes additional stress for all visitors. I don't have a problem with paid parking at hospitals but as a visitor from outside the area I know there are better systems. My problems on a recent visit included having to guess what time I arrived (despite the fact that the system must know) and having to queue for the only one of the three machines which was currently working in the cold weather outside the front entrance. I live in Lancashire where we can register our vehicles online. This means that if we have to visit a hospital we have no worries at all about car parking - it's just calculated and charged automatically to whatever payment method we have registered, removing one level of anxiety instantly from what is usually a stressful situation!

  5. Review titled Thank you for your care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After recently attending the Rheumatology department and having bloods taken. I subsequently received a phone call to say that my bloods had indicated an infection, and to contact my GP. I now am on a course of antibiotics. Thank you to all the team for flagging this up. Your care and attention is very much appreciated!

  6. Review titled Rough handling and zero patience with elderly patients

    by controllerwt64 - Posted on 30 December 2022

I am so upset with some of the staff how they talk and treat some of the elderly patients, I feel some of them show very little respect and empathy. I’m sure they would not like their elderly relatives to be treated in this way. I question why some of them are in a caring profession.

  7. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just wanted to thank warrington hospital. Ward b10 paediatric ophthalmology and anaesthetics and the wonderful theatre and recovery staff who took the greatest of care of my 10 year old daughter, who had squint surgery today. It all went well, she is home and on the mend. Without exception, every part of today’s surgery was professional and efficient with the most kind and caring staff who went over and above to look after my daughter. Thank you, I felt she was in very safe hands. I know the nhs and it’s staff are under massive strain but warrington hospital today was wonderful.

  8. Review titled Wonderful treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy - Posted on 23 November 2022

On Monday I visited my GP, who did an “urgent 14 day, possible cancer” referral to your Gynaecology Department. I received a call on Tuesday, inviting me to attend today - Wednesday. I was met with professionalism and kindness throughout my appointment. The referral had caused me a great deal of anxiety - the sonography operator quickly put my mind at ease and the nurse I saw to discuss my results, was so kind and understanding. I’ve had wonderful service and I would be grateful if you would pass my comments on. Thank you

  9. Review titled Gone the extra mile

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Price - Posted on 08 November 2022

I visited the A&E department last Sunday night 6th of November. Despite the really long wait I was made to feel welcome and was properly looked after by all the staff from the triage nurse who went to find me a pillow to another nurse who found me a little room so that I could settle for the night. In the morning the doctor that was working in ambulatory care was an amazing guy really knows his job thoroughly and gave lots of reassurance after discovering that I have a deep vein thrombosis. I felt safe and secure in his care the staff were all fantastic.

  10. Review titled Above and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dave Tovell - Posted on 02 November 2022

A family member spent a short time at Warrington hospital and was given excellent care from the staff in ward A3. After being discharged our family member in question managed to forget their earphones. One of the nurses from the ward took the time to deliver them in person to the care home in their own time. We are so grateful to all the staff at Warrington, they really care. Thank you - you do a fabulous job!
