  1. Review titled Amazing staff! All dedicated

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Yvonne Smith - Posted on 09 November 2023

I went in for a full hysterectomy, very fearful and racked with anxiety, I can't thank the staff on ward 5a and the theatre team enough! They went above and beyond supporting me from start to finish. Amazing group of very dedicated professionals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Words will never be enough to thank each and everyone of you. God bless you all, will never forget your kindness.

  2. Review titled Very worrying

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Carla heath - Posted on 02 January 2024

Turned up in agony a&e for assistance could not go the toilet bladder issues Was not seen in 9 hours and was told “ we are working within a broken system “ one nurse who was there complained to me that she was undertaking duties that she’s not qualified to do however short staffed she was asked to do so Very concerning to be told this as patient not to mention the waiting time When I gave up and left in no better condition than what was when arrived I seen 17 people waiting on trolleys in corridors for beds I counted them all I cried all the way home thinking this is our nhs system gone right down hill. It’s very scary to see when you have worked paid your national insurance and this is what you get? Really ? Is this the way we are going to be treated in the future? No staff horrendous waiting times and people lined up in corridors ? I am absolutely disgusted and terrified that If I went there with something serious that there would be a good chance that come out in a coffin Something needs doing This is not acceptable care for people and nurses complaining and telling patients they are not qualified but are helping out and doing their best. This is hardly good care or good practice and it’s very alarming and I pray I never ever have to go there again and I really feel sorry for us all if this is the state of Warrington hospital and nhs in general

  3. Review titled Car parking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 October 2023

The hospital car park is completely inadequate. This is the third time I’ve been to this hospital in the last month and each time it’s been such a struggle to find a parking space. There are not enough spaces and they are far too narrow making it really difficult to get in and out, and certainly not enough disabled bays. As a result, visitors park at the end of the rows making it difficult to turn up or down each row. There are not enough traffic flow signs & the tarmac needs resurfacing. Also not enough working pay machines & you shouldn’t even have to pay for such a poor parking experience anyway. Very offputting.

  4. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Victoria McConville - Posted on 13 September 2023

My daughter had a bad break on her arm at the weekend and needed surgery to pin the bones back in place on Sunday 10th September. The care she received throughout the hospital was brilliant. But the care she received from her nurse in the children's ward was outstanding. It was great to have a dedicated nurse looking after my daughter and we really appreciated the continuity of care. She was a bank nurse and was absolutely amazing with my daughter. It really helped to make her experience a little bit better as she was in a lot of pain and discomfort plus anxious about the operation and her arm.. Thank you!

  5. Review titled Outstanding services and facilities

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tansy Wright - Posted on 20 September 2023

Absolutely blown away by the level of care we received throughout the pregnancy, during the labour including an emergency c section and throughout of 3day stay post birth. The staff were incredible: extremely attentive, proactive and supportive. Every little concern that arose was very promptly picked up on and dealt with, we were also kept really well informed throughout and we were given the confidence to breastfeed and to care for our baby. We are so grateful for his safe delivery and for every bit of help, advice and care we were given.

  8. Review titled Gynaecology ward

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Amanda Dodgson - Posted on 27 August 2023

On discharge told by doctor to take ibuprofen and paracetamol, she would not prescribe them as discharge medication due to them being cheap enough to buy. This is how you are treated when you have worked for the NHS for many many years. I am sensitive to opiates and cannot take them. This is very poor care.

  10. Review titled Broken service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Carla - Posted on 14 July 2023

I turned up at a&e with an issue and believe me I do not go to a&e unless I know there is no where else Shock horror when I arrived mid afternoon 17 people down corridors or trolleys just waiting for a bed I was told your looking at 14 hour wait minimum 2 doctors on 67 patients I was so upset seeing this I stuck it out for 6 hours and went home seen no one in this time but a nurse who explained to me she taking blood and shouldn’t be … she’s a nursing assistant and has been asked to do alsorts of jobs that only a qualified nurse should be doing. I was horrified and seriously worried thinking If this is our local hospital then we are all doomed. I have never thought it was a good hospital prior for I was in patient 2016 but believe me this was on a whole different level. It’s busting at the seams and this isn’t care at all it’s hit and miss and if you were really poorly well all can say is your likely to be coming out in box for there isn’t the staff to take care of all the people … as said busting at the seams and understaffed We all champion the nhs but sorry this is nothing to champion or celebrate I would be very scared if I had something serious wrong with me accessing this hospital I am that traumatised I have even been looking into paying for private health which I really can’t afford when paying into the nhs every month national insurance out my wages and the service is not fit for purpose What are we left with? We can’t stop the national insurance out of our wages so forced to pay it I really feel people should wake up to what is happening and stop moaning and take action before there will be no nhs left This I believe will happen Anyone who wants to get In touch with me who thinks we can campaign etc then please get in touch with me I will help any way I can for these are desperate times I kid you not sit there do nothing and believe me the nhs won’t be there for you if you god forbid need it or any of your loved ones Good luck to you all who need it in future

Dear Cara, We are sorry to read about your experience within our Emergency Department (ED) that lead to you self-discharging before receiving treatment for the condition that brought you to our department. We appreciate that our Emergency Department is busy, like other EDs across the country and our clinicians see and treat patients based on clinical need. We understand that waiting to be seen whilst feeling unwell can be difficult, but advise patients if their condition worsens whilst waiting to make staff aware. We regularly promote healthcare service available to patients depending on their needs and these can be found on our website and on our social media and include; urgent care treatment centres, GPs, pharmacies, NHS 111 and self care. NHS 111 are a great resource to signpost on the right service for yourself dependent on symptoms. We hope that you have been able to see a clinician since leaving our ED to help you with your condition. If you need to discuss your experience further, please contact patient advice and liaison service (PALS) on whh.pals@nhs.net or call 01925 275512. The Communications Team
